Jones
, the former NFL cornerback and West Virginia University standout, has released a video showing his recent arrest by police officers in Covington, Kentucky. The footage, captured outside a bar near Cincinnati, has sparked fresh controversy, with Adam Jones' agent calling the officers' actions an example of 'overzealous policing.
' Adam Jones was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public space, second-degree disorderly conduct, and third-degree assault of a police officer.
Video adds new layer to Adam Jones' arrest; agent claims rights were violated
In the newly released video, which surfaced through TMZ Sports, Adam Jones, who was involved in a disturbance in a local bar, is seen interacting tensely with two Covington officers before being restrained against a police vehicle.
The authorities alleged Adam Jones was drunk and acting in a disorderly manner. He was booked into the Kenton County Detention Center after his arrest. But things changed dramatically after Adam Jones released what seems like surveillance footage showing one officer roughly grabbing him, which has now led to a question about the use of force during the arrest.
Jones' representative, Peter Schaffer, issued a forceful statement after the incident, asserting that his client was simply exercising his constitutional right to ask why he was being held in custody.

'Initially, officers claimed he was being arrested for assault and then shifted to public intoxication (which, in itself, is not a crime in many jurisdictions unless it leads to dangerous behavior), and finally settled on disorderly conduct, simply for asking why he was being detained,' Schaffer said in a statement.

This recent incident is at least the fourth arrest of Jones since 2021. He was previously arrested for the first time at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in 2023 and again following the Jake Paul vs.
Mike Tyson boxing bout in Las Vegas in November of 2024, both of which were also for offenses involving alcohol and public conduct.
Jones, who last played in the NFL in 2018, spent most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals after being drafted by the Tennessee Titans and playing briefly with the Dallas Cowboys. His post-NFL years have been marred by multiple run-ins with law enforcement, many of which have ended with charges that were later dropped or reduced.

Even as questions have swirled about the behavior of both Adam "Pacman" Jones and Covington police, debates over policing and citizen rights have persisted. The footage that came out may prove key to public opinion-and perhaps in legal proceedings themselves.

Farewell letter found at the home of Austrian school shooter but motive remains unclear

GRAZ, Austria: Investigators found a farewell letter and a non-functional pipe bomb when they searched the home of a man who opened fire at his former school in Austria, killing 10 people and taking his own life, police said Wednesday. As Austria mourned the victims of what appeared to be the deadliest attack in its post-World War II history, with a national minute of silence planned Wednesday morning, questions remained about the motive of the shooter. The 21-year-old Austrian man lived near Graz and was a former student at the BORG Dreierschützengasse high school, in Austria's second-biggest city, who hadn't completed his studies. Police have said that he used two weapons, a shotgun and a handgun, which he appeared to have owned legally. Police didn't elaborate on investigators' findings in a brief post on social network X. But a senior official who acknowledged that the letter had been found on Tuesday night said it hadn't allowed them to draw conclusions. 'A farewell letter in analog and digital form was found,' Franz Ruf, the public security director at Austria's Interior Ministry, told ORF public television. 'He says goodbye to his parents. But no motive can be inferred from the farewell letter, and that is a matter for further investigations.' Asked whether the assailant had attacked victims randomly or targeted them specifically, Ruf said that is also under investigation and he didn't want to speculate. He said that wounded people were found on various levels of the school and, in one case, in front of the building.
