This Luxury Car Service Just Launched Private City Tours in 2 of Europe's Most Iconic Capitals—and It Starts at Just $350
Luxury chauffeur service Blacklane introduced new private sightseeing services in both London and Paris. Founded as a chauffeur service that operates a fleet of newer, high-end cars with trained drivers, the company is hoping to expand and help travelers dive deeper into new destinations.
'Blacklane's new sightseeing tours bring comfort, space and privacy to these incredible cities. Our professional chauffeur partners are passionate about their home cities, and share insider local tips that you simply don't get in any other sightseeing experience," Blacklane co-founder and CEO Jens Wohltorf told Travel + Leisure . "London and Paris are busy, large and at times overwhelming to navigate, with iconic sights spread far and wide. Connecting them in a stress-free manner, away from the crowds, with Blacklane's sightseeing tours is the most relaxing way to pack in lots of fantastic experiences."
Each private tour lasts four hours and is complete with visiting landmark locations, pausing for photo stops, and includes flexible pick-up and drop-off spots. In London, guests can expect up-close views of Buckingham Palace along with the London Eye, the Tower of London, the Royal Albert Hall, and more. Meanwhile, tours in Paris will bring travelers by the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre. 'Plus, our dedicated concierge team can tailor a day to add in airport transfers, a lunch booking or simply more time to soak in the city," Wohltorf added.
Family-friendly vehicles and infant car seats are also available upon request, and travelers can add stops to their tour to customize it to their needs.
The luxurious experience does come with an equally elevated price tag. Tours in London start at £300 ($402.68) while tours in Paris start at €300 ($348.31).
Tours are available in electric vehicles (like a Mercedes-Benz EQE), first-class cars (think: Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series), and larger vans for small groups (like a Mercedes-Benz V-Class).
Wohltorf said the company is already planning to expand the tours to additional cities, but it wasn't immediately clear which cities they would be.
Blacklane isn't alone in upgrading driving tours both in major cities and remote locations. In fact, the Faroe Islands recently launched rental cars with built-in audio guides that bring travelers to lesser-known locations. And in London, travelers can discover the city's rock history in a signature black cab with companies like Rock Cab Tours. Unique driving tours even have a celebrity following with Beyoncé and Jay-Z famously bringing their family on an afternoon tea-themed trip across New York City a while back.

Billions wiped out as software stocks sink on AI disruption fear
(Bloomberg) — Growing worries that artificial intelligence tools could soon disrupt the world's biggest software businesses are sparking a selloff across the sector. A 30% plunge in Ltd. shares grabbed investor attention in Europe on Tuesday, with some analysts saying the drop reflected concerns over the long-term competitive threat of AI as much as results that failed to meet higher investor expectations. Such worries fueled big losses across the sector. SAP SE — Europe's biggest company by market value — dropped as much as 7.1% in Frankfurt, erasing almost €22 billion ($26 billion) at the session low. Smaller peers like Sage Group Plc and Dassault Systemes SE also slid in Tuesday trading. Fears are growing that incumbent software makers may be at risk of heightened competition, if AI tools now allow applications to be made more quickly and at a much lower cost. Earlier this month, OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman warned that the sector could enter a 'fast fashion era very soon' in terms of AI enabling cheaper, rapid production. 'Software valuations remain under pressure from the 'death of software due to AI' narrative, which likely drives continued volatility in the short term,' RBC Capital Markets analysts led by Matthew Hedberg wrote in a note on Tuesday. Software is among the weakest performers within tech this year, with shares of Salesforce Inc. down more than 30% and Adobe down by about 25%. A basket of software stocks is trading near the lowest levels since January versus a group of semiconductor shares. Read: Traders Are Fleeing Stocks Feared to Be Under Threat From AI The worry has also spread to companies that offer research insights and IT consultancy services, such as Gartner Inc, which reduced its full-year outlook last week. While the firm cited factors like tariffs and government budget cuts, analysts said the weak result exacerbated concerns over competition from AI research tools. Still, some see buying opportunities following the rapid price drops. Morgan Stanley analyst Josh Baer raised his rating on to overweight on Tuesday, saying the stock's pullback 'more than incorporates' risks of AI disrupting search advertising and performance marketing. 'Investors are fearing that AI is going to eat software and multiples are going to fall apart,' Jefferies analyst Brent Thill said in a CNBC interview on Monday. 'I think the fear is overblown, but nevertheless we are living through a period right now where investors just really don't care about the group.' —With assistance from Gary Parkinson and Ryan Vlastelica. ©2025 Bloomberg L.P. According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the Crusaders have set the starting price at €30 million. Despite recent reports suggesting otherwise, Parma will negotiate the sale of the 18-year-old. Indeed, Giovanni Leoni is the club's most prized asset, meaning his exit will significantly bolster their coffers. Therefore, the race for his signature is officially underway. Parma Open to Selling Liverpool & Inter Milan Target Giovanni Leoni BOLOGNA, ITALY – OCTOBER 06: Giovanni Leoni of Parma calcio looks on during the Serie A match between Bologna and Parma at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara on October 06, 2024 in Bologna, Italy. (Photo by) Liverpool's interest has gained momentum in recent days. Indeed, after their pursuit of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi suffered a blow, they've turned to Leoni. Meanwhile, Inter have been hot on the youngster's trail since the start of the summer. However, a lack of finances has thrown a spanner in the works, forcing the San Siro club to sit and wait. Despite Parma's initial €40 million valuation, they've shown readiness to lower their demands. That must be music to Liverpool's ears, considering they boast the economic prowess to pull off a deal of this magnitude.

Rail Vision gets European patent for imaging technology on locomotives
Israeli technology company Rail Vision has announced the receipt of a Decision to Grant from the European Patent Office for its patent application for a new system aimed at improving the sampling rate of an imager detector for a Selected Region Of Interest (SROI). The patented technology comprises an imaging device and a processing unit that collaborate to capture, analyse, and prioritise visual information from a forward-facing camera attached to a train or locomotive. The imaging device gathers multiple datasets from image frames over several handling cycles, while the processing unit determines a specific region of interest based on the data collected. This system can obtain partial datasets from the SROI during the remaining time within those cycles, thus facilitating higher sampling rates in critical areas. Mounted on the locomotive, the processing unit features a tracking module that identifies the rails, establishes margins on either side, computes a safe braking line according to the train's braking distance, and defines a safe zone. The SROI is located at the far end of this safe zone within the image frames, allowing for early detection and response to potential hazards. Rail Vision CEO David BenDavid said: 'Securing this European patent is another strong validation of Rail Vision's innovation. 'By boosting the sampling rate, we're enabling train operators to detect hazards sooner, react faster, and improve functional efficiency to operate more safely. 'This technology is another step toward our vision of making railway transportation safer, smarter, and more efficient worldwide.' In January this year, Rail Vision entered the Indian market by signing a binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sujan Ventures, a part of the Sujan Group. This agreement is intended for the installation of Rail Vision's advanced safety systems across India's locomotive fleet, comprising around 15,000 units. "Rail Vision gets European patent for imaging technology on locomotives" was originally created and published by Railway Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.
