Dubai to host second edition of T100 Triathlon Weekend in November
Held by Dubai Sports Council (DSC) and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), it will see athletes Marten Van Riel from Belgium and Taylor Knibb from US defend their titles.
It will also see the introduction of a schools event and corporate relay to boost community involvement, with all three race categories expanded.
The Dubai race comes after T100 stops in Singapore, San Francisco and Vancouver, with London (August 9–10) up next.
Swiss athlete Julie Derron currently leads the women's rankings, while Van Riel holds the top spot in the men's standings.
'After the remarkable success of the 2024 debut, we are confident that the 2025 edition will attract global attention, contribute to the local economy and highlight Dubai's diverse offerings to international audiences," added Ahmed Al Khaja, Chief Executive of Dubai Festivals and Retail Division.

Dubai Mallathon kicks off to turn malls into fitness hubs
Dubai mall The Organised in alignment with the Year of Community campaign, the Dubai Social Agenda 33, and Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 33, the Dubai Mallathon aims to foster healthier living by providing safe, climate-controlled environments for residents and visitors to stay active throughout the summer. More than 40 iPhones, 10 tablets, shopping vouchers, and other prizes will be awarded in a festive atmosphere that encourages active community participation. Our participation in this initiative reflects our leadership's vision to embed sport as a cornerstone of daily life and community identity.' Artists and athletes gather in UAE for festival of unity
Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the Global Encounters Festival 2025 on July 21. To run till July 27, it is a gathering of more than 4,000 young artists and athletes from over 50 countries, uniting in the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and shared humanity. The opening ceremony, held at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Prince Amyn Aga Khan and Prince Aly Mohammed Aga Khan, alongside over 25,000 visitors from around the world. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, the Global Encounters Festival 2025 takes place across multiple venues in Dubai, featuring a programme of art showcases, sports competitions, concerts, exhibitions, and immersive cultural experiences. Ministry of Sports organises second ‘Customer Councils' session of 2025
UAE: The Ministry of Sports convened the second 'Customer Councils' session of 2025, as part of its commitment to strengthening partnerships with private sector sports organisations and national federations. In line with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision under the 'Forward Ecosystem' pillar, the session sought to advance the goals of the Zero Bureaucracy programme by improving the quality of sports services provided to customers, as well as streamlining sports licensing services. Held at the Oxygen Gym in Dubai, the second edition of the council was attended by specialised teams from the Ministry of Sports and over 30 representatives from the National Paralympic Committee, Dubai Sports Council, Sharjah Sports Council, and Fujairah Municipality, and various sports clubs, private sports centres and sports federations. The Ministry of Sports emphasized that the second Customer Councils of 2025 reflected the Ministry's aim to promote a customer-driven approach in service design. As a vital part of the long-term growth and development of the sporting ecosystem, we highly prioritise enhancing the private sector's contributions to the advancement of sporting activities. We believe that customers are best equipped to identify challenges and present ideas that elevate services. It further reaffirmed that the Ministry's goal to deliver an integrated and smart experience that enhances customer satisfaction, elevates performance efficiency, and strengthens institutional governance frameworks in the national sports sector. Participants emphasised the significance of holding these councils on a regular basis, as they serve as an ideal practical platform for exchanging experiences and ideas, accelerating service improvements, encouraging innovation in the sports sector, and establishing an efficient and sustainable sports environment. They also commended the Ministry's commitment towards the initiative and its efforts to strengthen the sporting ecosystem. Following the session, specialised work teams within the Ministry reviewed and analysed the feedback and suggestions made by representatives of sports organisations to categorise these insights and pinpoint any possible gaps in service delivery.
