Successful Conclusion for Dubai Sports Council Football Talents Development Program in Dubai Clubs

Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has successfully concluded the Program of the 'Football Talents Development Centers in Dubai Clubs' for the age groups from 12 to 17 years old, which was launched by the Council as part of its endeavors to attract, scout & develop sports talents and according to Dubai Government's policy to support talents in various fields.The Program witnessed remarkable participation of 100 promising players, who were nominated out of elite of talents from Dubai clubs. Nominated players were subject to several technical & physical tryouts, held under supervision of football academies' technical supervisors, including coaches, assistant coaches & experts from the Sportify & Talents Academies. The tryouts were also arranged under administrative supervision of academies managers & teams administrators.Players were classified into three training centers as per age categories as follows: players in the age category from 12 to 13 years old were trained at the Talents Development Center of Al-Wasl Club, while players from 14 to 15 years old received trainings at Shabab Al-Ahli Club Center and players from 16 to 17 years old were trained at Al-Nasr Club Center.It is worth-mentioning that DSC has launched the Program of the Football Talent Development Centers in Dubai Clubs for basketball, handball & volleyball sports in collaboration with technical bodies of the respective sports federations and in partnership with Dubai Clubs; these are: Shabab Al-Ahli, Al-Nasr, Al-Wasl & Hatta.The Program targets to attract the best talents in different team & individual sports games and to attract them into specialized training centers, which are managed under supervision of technical staff of top competence. Full support, development programs besides opportunities for competitions and gaining of distinctive experiences were all provided at the training centers.The program also aims to develop the technical, healthy, nutritional, and academic aspects of the players, and to provide an ideal environment for boosting talents in a modern scientific way, in addition to preparing a profile for each talent & participating in international competitions. Comprehensive technical reports are prepared by the end of each season, as part of strategic policy to promote distinguished players of different age groups, leading to the formation of qualified national teams to attain international achievements. The Program enhances the competences of local coaches & assistant coaches of first teams.
Further tryouts are decided to be held during the next sports season to supply centers with the best talents. Gatherings & camps will also be organized including matches, intensive trainings and theoretical & practical awareness lectures, in addition to physical tryouts to be held under supervision of technical coaches of academies and in collaboration with partners from the public & private sectors.

Dubai Sports Council will mark Emirati Women's Day on 27 August by organizing a walk and run at Dubai Mall as part of the 'Dubai Mallathon' initiative, launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai Sports Council has invited women of all nationalities, ages and fitness levels to take part in this initiative held in celebration of Emirati Women's Day. The occasion is organized under the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, 'Mother of the Nation,' Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, under the theme 'Hand in Hand, Celebrating 50 years' marking the 50th anniversary of the General Women's celebrations represent a national tribute to the community partnership and the sustained achievements of Emirati women over five decades, reinforcing the UAE's vision to foster national solidarity and affirm women's role as essential partners in the country's Council places special emphasis on women's sports, aiming to support and empower female participation across all fields. Its annual calendar features a wide range of programs, tournaments and activities dedicated to women, which has attracted large numbers of participants—from school students to employees and homemakers. This has helped build a broad base of female athletes and prepare them to become a talent pipeline for club teams and national squads capable of winning titles and delivering success on various stages. 'Dubai Mallathon' activities are held daily across nine of Dubai's leading shopping destinations: Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Marina Mall, The Springs Souk, Dubai Festival City Mall, and Festival Plaza. Safe, fully equipped indoor routes are designated for walking and running from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. throughout the remainder of August, enabling community-wide participation and encouraging the integration of sport into daily routines.

AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) has successfully concluded its 2025 Ithra Summer programs, which ran from June to August and included: Ithra Buds, Ithra Young Leaders, and Ithra Youth. The programs reflect the Foundation's commitment to equipping young Bahrainis with the skills and knowledge to meet the demands of the future, while fostering personal growth and community engagement. This year's edition targeted three distinct age groups: 10–12, 13–14, and 15–16. Each track adopted a comprehensive, hands-on approach encompassing accredited workshops, field visits, interactive challenges, training camps, sports days, and artistic and community projects. The content focused on future-ready skills, artificial intelligence, self-discipline, creative thinking, entrepreneurship, arts, and financial literacy, all aimed at preparing participants for the next phase of technological and global advancement. Notably, 2025 marked the launch of Ithra Youth for participants aged 15–16, designed to develop leadership skills, build self-confidence, and strengthen understanding of artificial intelligence. The initiative achieved a participation rate exceeding 90%, reflecting its appeal and effectiveness. All program content was developed based on surveys and interviews with the target groups to ensure alignment with the actual needs of Bahraini youth. The workshops were designed to integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with activities delivered year-round during academic breaks as well as other intervals. Commenting on the occasion, H.H. Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at MKF, stated, 'The measurable impact of our Ithra programs reflects our commitment to providing an environment where young people can explore their potential and build their skills for future success. They are a core part of our summer initiatives, which also include the 'Job Shadowing' and 'Training Camp' initiatives. We are proud of this ambitious generation and remain dedicated to introducing exceptional opportunities that enrich their educational journey.' To deliver the programs, MKF partnered with more than nine prominent professional and educational entities, including the Child Protection Unit at the Ministry of Interior, the Bahrain Space Agency, the National Bank of Bahrain, Pro Boxing Ladies Studio, Vanilla Café, and Bon Coffee, owned by Ms. Najiba Bousnan. The Foundation also collaborated with a number of distinguished figures such as H.H. Shaikh Turki bin Hamad Al Khalifa, H.H. Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Ms. Donya Madara, Ms. Nayla Al Kaabi, and journalist Yousif Ahmed. Established in 2011 as a licensed and registered non-profit organization licensed by Bahrain's Ministry of Labor and Social Development, MKF seeks to create a positive social impact in education and youth empowerment. ALBAWABA - A man died in Jordan after suffering from a heatstroke, while two other individuals were hospitalized and are undergoing treatment due to the ongoing heatwave that hit the country this week, as reported by the local Jordanian news outlet, Al Ghad. According to local medical reports, several individuals were hospitalized in the past two days due to suffering from heatstroke, among them was an Arab man who arrived at the hospital in a critical condition. However, the man passed away shortly after he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Jordan recorded temperatures that exceeded 47 degrees Celsius, as officials urged citizens to stay inside to avoid direct contact with the sun, drink plenty of water, and limit physical outdoor activities. Officials also released a statement prohibiting construction workers from working between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Officials also advised against leaving children and the elderly inside closed vehicles, even for a short period. Additionally, university students were also advised to study and work from home. The ongoing heatwave also caused several electrical wires to catch fire across the country, as electricity usage spiked from prolonged air conditioner use.
