Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos' star-studded wedding took place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy, on Friday, June 27

'It went from 'I want a simple, sexy modern dress' to 'I want something that evokes a moment,' and where I am right now. I am a different person than I was five years ago," Sánchez told VogueLauren Sánchez has shared the first photo from her Venice wedding to husband Jeff Bezos.
Shortly after tying the knot with Bezos on Friday, June 27, Sánchez — who officially confirmed her marriage by changing her Instagram handle and name in bio to "Lauren Sánchez Bezos" just hours after the ceremony— posted her first wedding photo with the billionaire Amazon founder.
"06/27/2025 ♥️," the bride wrote in the caption of her post.
She shared a photo from the outdoor garden ceremony, which PEOPLE confirmed took place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy. Sánchez smiled beside Bezos wearing a lace wedding dress featuring sheer lace sleeves, a mermaid-style silhouette and 180 silk chiffon-covered priest buttons running down the front.
Just minutes after Sánchez posted, Vogue shared all the wedding dress details in its June 2025 digital cover story. More than a year and a half ago, Sánchez met with Domenico Dolce in New York to start crafting her dream Dolce&Gabbana gown.
'It went from 'I want a simple, sexy modern dress' to 'I want something that evokes a moment,' and where I am right now," Sánchez told the outlet. "I am a different person than I was five years ago."
She added that it would be the first formal dress she's ever worn that is so covered up across the chest.
'It is a departure from what people expect,' she said, 'from what I expect—but it's very much me.'
She topped the look with a tulle-and-lace veil, "inspired by the one Sophia Loren wore in the 1958 film Houseboat," per Vogue.
The nuptials come after a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Sánchez and Bezos were engaged in May 2023. The pair were on vacation in the South of France when Bezos proposed. They first went public with their relationship in January 2019.
Bezos popped the question with a ring estimated to be about 30 carats set on a four-prong platinum mounting.
Jeweler and expert Briony Raymond told PEOPLE at the time that because of the ring's high color grade and clarity, it was estimated to have cost "anywhere from $3 million to upwards of $5 million depending on the exact specifications of the diamond."
Following news of their engagement, a source told PEOPLE they were "on cloud nine" and "so happy and madly in love."
In a profile for Vogue's December issue that year, Sánchez said they were taking wedding planning slow and making every decision step-by-step.
'We're still thinking about the wedding, what it's going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don't know yet," she said. "We've only been engaged five months!"
Sánchez also told the outlet at the time that she was not rushing to make a decision about her wedding dress, noting, "There's so many incredible designers."

A source told PEOPLE that the Emmy-winning journalist hosted a bachelorette party at Lafayette's in Paris on Thursday, May 15.
"The atmosphere was very relaxed and very Parisian. It was a pre-wedding all-girl party for 13," an insider told PEOPLE about the event that was attended by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry and Eva Longoria.

Rei Kawakubo redefines men's suits with radical designs at Paris Fashion Week

PARIS (AP) — Rei Kawakubo, the ever-restless force behind Comme des Garçons, delivered a characteristically unpredictable twist on men's tailoring, dismantling the traditional suit and remaking it in her own radical image. Titled 'Not Suits, But Suits,' the Paris Fashion Week show had models striding through a packed, overheated concrete venue Friday evening in looks that both nodded to and defied the idea of formalwear. Classic suit elements, jackets, lapels, pressed trousers, were reimagined with sharp, architectural interventions: bulging hips, layered or panniered silhouettes, and unexpected splashes of color. Some jackets appeared as if spliced apart and reassembled, while skinny pants revealed hidden panels and bursts of pattern through carefully placed zippers. Layering abounded, with cropped jackets stacked over pleated shirting, kilts and shorts. Knitwear was shredded and reconstructed, echoing a sense of disorder within the tailored frame. Accessories pushed the eccentricity further — models wore oversized, multi-brimmed caps crafted from suiting fabrics, paired with long braided wigs and formal shoes. The collection evoked the need for something transformative in unsettled times. Its atmosphere only heightened the collection's message: in Kawakubo's world, the suit is not a uniform of conformity but a canvas for disruption. As guests spilled out into the night, applause rang out for a designer who continues to turn fashion's certainties inside out.

Billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former TV journalist Lauren Sánchez got married in Venice, Italy, on Friday, with a star-studded celebrity guest list joining them for the festivities. Sánchez posted a photo of the couple on Instagram, showing herself in a fitted wedding dress with a long train, high neck and lace sleeves, and Bezos in a classic black tuxedo, as their guests clapped. Wedding location details have been kept under wraps, but Italian newspapers and Venetian locals predicted it would take place at San Giorgio Maggiore, one of the Venetian islands, which is known for the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore. Bezos and Sanchez invited some 200 guests, according to media reports. Antonio Calanni/AP This is the second marriage for both Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55. Bezos was previously married to philanthropist Mackenzie Scott, but the pair divorced in 2019. Sánchez's first marriage to Patrick Whitesell, the executive chair of the talent firm Endeavor, also ended in 2019. Ahead of the nuptials, movie stars, TV personalities and business titans were sighted around Venice. Some were seen arriving on Thursday at the Madonna dell'Orto church for the first of several planned events. Some of the more recognizable names seen in photos include Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, the Kardashians and Jenners, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tom Brady, Bill Gates, Diane von Furstenberg, Usher, Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner. The influx of so much money and star power prompted protests from local Venetian residents, who launched the "No Space for Bezos" campaign. It comes amid a broader pushback against an overload of tourists across Europe, with some blaming the crowds of visitors for increased costs and rent. But nothing seemed to mar the celebratory mood as Bezos, Sánchez and their guests gathered for the big day. At Bezos' Venetian Wedding: Buzz, Bling and Backlash

On Friday, Venice's canals filled with polished motorboats bearing Hollywood stars, millionaires and Khloé Kardashian in a cape of pink feathers as they headed to Jeff Bezos' wedding to Lauren Sánchez. On Saturday, it was the turn of dozens of public order police officers on foot, boats and water skis. A day after Ms. Sánchez took to Instagram on Friday night to introduce herself to the world as Lauren Sanchez-Bezos, wearing a lacy white mermaid dress, Venice braced for protesters who threatened to descend again on the city to voice their anger over the wedding — and armed conflict around the world. Despite his efforts to have a private if star-studded multimillion-dollar wedding in Venice, Mr. Bezos' wealth and powerful connections left the couple's thoroughly curated celebrations caught up in an intensely political and moral debate. From Venetian bars to British newspapers and even among Italian politicians in Rome, the wedding became a topic of conversation, focusing not on the bride's outfits, but on Mr. Bezos' businesses, money and friends. The result was an over-the-top party in one of the world's most stunning cities mixing Hollywood, Silicon Valley, Ivanka Trump and political overtones. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
