Christian Bale and His Kids Make Rare Public Appearance

Originally appeared on E! Online The dark knight rises, and so does Christian Bale for his family. The Oscar winner made a rare outing with wife Sibi Blazic to catch their 20-year-old daughter Luka Bale walk in Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda fashion show in Rome July 14. Dressed in an all-black suit, Bale arrived to the event holding hands with Blazic, who he married in 2000. Meanwhile, their 11-year-old son Rex Bale—also dressed in a dark suit with a matching shirt—followed closely behind. The family of four went on to snap a group photo—published by Just Jared—with designer Domenico Dolce, who was also seen clad in black with his signature wide-rimmed glasses. And it's not often that Bale is out at a public event with his children. After all, the 51-year-old is notoriously private about his brood—with many fans mistakenly believing that his son was named Joseph for years. Instead, the tween was credited as "Rex Bale" for his cameo in his dad's 2022 Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder. Likewise, the public only found out about Luka's name when she was credited as such in Bale's 2016 racing film Ford v Ferrari. She also made a brief appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder, before making her modeling debut with Dolce & Gabbana in 2021. "She's a little rascal," Bale said of his daughter in a 2012 interview with British GQ. "I'm not going to miss her growing up for anything, not even for Batman." The Dark Knight alum added, "I'm certainly not going to be one of those fathers who picks up a photo of his daughter and has regrets about not being around." Erling Haaland and his stunning girlfriend Isabel Haugseng look smitten as they attend Dolce & Gabbana show in Rome

Erling Haaland and his stunning girlfriend Isabel Haugseng looked smitten as they arrived at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria show in Rome, Italy on Tuesday. The loved-up couple wore matching grey ensembles and held hands while walking into the event at Castel Sant'Angelo. The Manchester City forward, 24, was all smiles as he enjoyed his summer break on their romantic getaway. Fellow footballer and mother-of-one Isabel, 21, put on a very glamorous display in a dazzling sequin mesh dress. Erling has been an ambassador for the Dolce & Gabbana since 2023, after striking an endorsement deal up to £2million with the Italian brand. The footballer has been seen wearing the brand's clothes across his social media platforms. Erling has been looking to unwind following Man City's gruelling 2024-25 season, which came to an end just two weeks ago. Last week, the couple were spotted in Ibiza, with the couple on a yacht alongside Isabel's mother and their child, who was born last December. The couple have been very private with their child and they are yet to publicly announce its gender or name. Isabel is believed to have met Erling at the youth academy at Bryne, who they both played for. They started dating when he was at Borussia Dortmund, with Isabel making frequent trips to visit him. Despite a quiet private life and no social media presence, Isabel has been increasingly seen in the public eye during Erling's time at City, celebrating with him during their trophy successes. The 21-year-old wasn't present in the US for the Club World Cup and was rather cheering on Erling from home as he scored three goals in four games. The Norwegian international had been unable to help Pep Guardiola's side avoid an embarrassing exit at the hands of Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup round of 16. Erling scored in the clash, but was unable to help Pep Guardiola's side progress in the highly lucrative competition in the USA, eventually won by Chelsea. Elsewhere, the opportunity for Erling to get some extra rest rather than continue in the latter stages of the tournament may be welcomed by Guardiola given he previously expressed his concerns over the impact the summer schedule could have on City's upcoming season. Erling is among the Man City stars now embracing their time off before they have to return to pre-season training. Man City currently only have one pre-season match scheduled ahead of the new season, with Guardiola's side scheduled to face Palmero on August 9. The match will take place a week before the Man City begin their Premier League campaign away to Wolves.

Haute Priests—Dolce & Gabbana Present Their Alta Sartoria at Rome's Castel Sant'Angelo

How do you follow a women's show of Fellini-esque proportions at the Roman Forum? If you're Dolce & Gabbana, with a men's show at the Ponte di Castel Sant'Angelo. The circa 134 AD bridge was built by Emperor Hadrian to connect Rome's city center to his future mausoleum. Over the centuries, the ancient builing was transformed into a medeival fortress, a papal residence, and the backdrop for a scene in Roman Holiday. Tonight the castle was lit up like a movie set with klieg lights and scores of Cinecittà extras vamping as cardinals. Conclave II might be a good name for the would-be film. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana took priestly garb as their subject, and they left no hem unturned in their study, which ranged from the ascetic to the ornate, emphasis on the ornate: There were starched linen tunics that looked like fashionable updates to the traditional surplice, double-breasted suits dressed up with bejeweled crosses, and dramatic papal robes lavished with crystal embroideries.

Ciao bella — how to dress for a Roman holiday

I know it's the French that we Brits are supposed to get excited about, style-wise, and indeed I did summon up some enthusiasm on these very pages last week. But for me it's all about the Italians. It's always about the Italians. The so-called tomato girl summer that took over social media a couple of years ago — a telling conflation of food and fashion — is still alive and kicking. Although, what with the temperatures and my limited skill set when it comes to dealing with them, mine is thus far proving more of a passata girl summer. Food. Fashion. It's encapsulated by one Miuccia Prada, who, unlike her austerely clad French counterparts, will present herself at the end of a catwalk show in head-to-toe red satin, and who — just in case that isn't enough for you — also owns a cake shop. I am in Rome as I write, for Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda show, which I review here. The city is as ridiculously ravishing as ever, but then so are the Romans. Sure, it can be tricky to see them, obscured as they tend to be in the summer months by several dozen burnt and be-bumbagged foreigners. But when you do … • Read more fashion advice and style inspiration from our experts What they channel in their wardrobes might be called joie de vivre if it weren't for the fact that this is the wrong language, so I will refer to it instead as sprezzatura. The Italians love colour and pattern, embracing it in such a way as to look classy rather than as if they are angling for an Instagram showing. JJ Martin, a Milan-based American who runs a kaleidoscopic label called La DoubleJ, goes as far as to call them 'geniuses. They just inherently understand tasteful arrangements of pattern and colour. It's as if they have a special DNA strand that embeds style in the bloodstream.' Here's what makes up the Italian summer uniform. This is a different species to the floral numbers that we tend to turn to. Forget Mapp and Lucia. Think Monica and Sophia. (Bellucci and Loren, on the off-chance that this needs further clarification.) It's not about the village fête. It's about drinks on a terrace somewhere on the Amalfi coast. Eschew ditzy prints. What you want is a ritzy print, one that's bold and very possibly geometric. You might also factor in the idea of an unwaisted style, the better to come over suitably operatic. And also, handily, to enjoy that second helping of pasta. La DoubleJ's signature swing maxi — in a hefty silk twill, with T-shirt sleeves — is the best around in terms of ever-after quality and print options (£770, At a less hair-raising price point there's Boden's Maya maxi (£120, and New Look's fruit-print wide-strap midi (£37.99, No, not to sleep in. The Italians don't wear PJs in bed. (See Bellucci, Monica, above.) They wear them to add a boudoir-adjacent frisson to the state of being fully conscious. Dolce & Gabbana has turned the day-pyjama genre into an art form, although suffice to say that if you have to ask the price you can't afford them. My more real-world favourites are a jazzy print linen pair from Karen Millen, with the option to go for shorts as well as trousers (£111.20 for the shirt, £119.20 for the trousers, £103.20 for the shorts, Bellissima. • The new must-have summer trousers (you probably already own a pair) It's got to the point in Rome this week where I am almost wondering whether there is some kind of municipal diktat prohibiting any sunglasses that couldn't also serve as welding goggles. & Other Stories' cool-girl tortoiseshell aviators would fit right in here (£32, AllSaints' giant squared-off cat's eyes, in black or a paler take on tortoiseshell that it calls (ahem) snow leopard, are more straightforwardly chic (£125, It might be a top, it might be a dress, but it's any self-respecting Italiana's favourite way to sizzle come summer. House of CB's Adabella, in a shade it calls Italian tomato, is a particular cracker (£179, The bandeau style from Nobody's Child — I like the giant polka dot — would also do the job (£99, To quote Loren in Houseboat, 'Bing! Bang! Bong!' The originals are so minimally be-strapped and soled as barely to class as footwear, and would ideally be purchased from the famous Canfora on Capri itself (from £159, However, there are some great iterations on the high street. Free People's are almost as pared-back, in a range of colours (£88, while Nobody's Child has a brown version with a more pavement-ready sole (£115, Italians got on to these for their youth-bestowing magic long before we did. Me+Em's white turn-ups would do nicely (£136.50, reduced from £195, as would Sézane's black and cream check (£125, and — if you are up for more volume — Albaray's leopard culottes (£79, Wait and See Milano — a veritable jewel box of a boutique — has some red and white floral beauts too (€283, reduced from €403, One of the ways in which Italian women signal the arrival of summer — not that here, in my experience, it normally needs much signalling — is by putting away their usual leather handbag, which will be an expensive investment piece, for a more fun wicker or raffia style. I always look for a lined interior, so that it works in the city as well as by the sea. For a neat tote, try Bloom & Bay's Kiara (£44.95, but for one that really thinks like a handbag, complete with leather flap and crossbody strap, try Wicker Wings (£250, I am going to finish on what is perhaps my favourite aspect of Italian style: how they dress up even the simplest ensemble with a knockout piece (or two) of costume jewellery. My favourite hunting grounds at home include the vintage offerings at Felt, Eclectica and Susan Caplan. Mango also knows how to make a dolce vita-appropriate statement, to wit its chunky resin bead necklace in shades of amber and brown (£45.99,

Christian Bale poses with BOTH his kids in rare family photo with wife Sibi

Christian Bale and his wife Sandra 'Sibi' Blažić have protectively shielded their two children from the spotlight, since the birth of their daughter back in 2005. Although the Hollywood couple are rarely seen out together, apart from the occasional red carpet, the actor, 51, and spouse, 55, made a rare exception while attending the Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda couture show and dinner on Monday. While dressed in coordinating all-black ensembles, Bale, Blažić and their children Emmeline 'Luka', 20, and Joseph, 10, smiled for a photo with designer Domenico Dolce. The group were pictured at the Fori Imperiali, Via Sacra site in Rome, Italy. For the occasion, Luka, who walked the Alta Moda runway back in 2021, wore a black, sleeveless slip dress and her blonde locks in a sleek bun. Her mom rocked a similar ensemble with lace sleeves and a long cross necklace. Bale, who shaved his head for his role in The Bride earlier this year, looked handsome in a black tailored suit. While arriving to the fashion show earlier in the day, the Batman held onto his wife's hand as their youngest walked by their side. The lovebirds famously met through actress Winona Ryder while she and Bale were working on Little Women in 1994 and Sibi was Winona's assistant at the time. The two hit it if off, eloped to Las Vegas in 2000. Sibi has received two SAG Award nominations for performing on the stunt teams of the two-time Golden Globe winner's films Ford v Ferrari (2019) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Their daughter portrayed Infinity Conez Vendor in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) and Le Mans Flower Girl in Ford v Ferrari (2019) thanks to the connections of her darling daddy. Last year, reports surfaced that Bale was working on building a village to house siblings being fostered so they don't get separated by the system. Bale, 50, has been working on his California village since the birth of his daughter in 2005 when he was 'stunned and mad' to discover how many children were in care in the state. The actor, who had is big break at age 12 in Empire of the Sun, plans to build 12 houses and two studio apartments and a 7,000-square-foot community center. Bale intends for the two studio apartments to help foster children transition into independent living as they age into adulthood. Famous for his roles in American Psycho and Christopher Nolan's Batman series, Bale plans to complete the construction of his community by 2025. The project has an estimated cost of $22 million and is situated next to a park in Palmdale, around 60 miles away from Los Angeles. Bale is the co-founder of an organization called Together California, which is coordinating the development. The organization's project is being developed under the leadership of executive director Tim McCormick and Bale's co-founder, UCLA's Dr. Eric Esrailian. He called the village, which is the first of its kind in the state, 'something absolutely new, totally transformative and something completely needed.' At an event in Antelope Valley yesterday, Bale stood with his wife, Sibi, and a group of elected officials and tight-knit supporters to break ground on the plan. He presented the blueprint of the project, which has a single aim - to keep siblings in the foster system together under one roof. 'Imagine the absolute pain and the trauma of losing your parents or being torn from your parents, and then losing your brothers and sisters on top of that, that's no way to treat kids,' Bale said at the event. 'And so, we will be the hub for that. I hope that this village will be the first of many, and I hope that people, Californians and Angelenos, know to come join us in opening our eyes to what's happening right under our noses. 'These are our children, and we must help our children.' The Oscar winner was technically born in Haverfordwest, Wales, but he became a naturalized US citizen in 2014, and he's lived in LA as far back as 1992. Christian first found fame at age 13 starring as British upper middle class schoolboy James 'Jim' Graham who's locked up in a Chinese internment camp in Steven Spielberg's 1987 war film, Empire of the Sun.
