
Gerard Kennedy, known for his role in Division 4, dies aged 93
Actor Gerard Kennedy, known for his roles in Homicide and The Flying Doctors, has died aged 93.
Kennedy, who rose to fame in the 1960s, starred as espionage agent Kragg in the spy drama Hunter.
He quickly gained national prominence as Detective Frank Banner in Division 4, which won him back-to-back Gold Logies for Most Popular Personality on Australian TV.
Kennedy went on to appear in Homicide, The Flying Doctors, A Country Practice, Blue Heelers and Neighbours.
He also appeared in Prisoner as terrorist Al in the Wentworth Siege episodes.
In his later career, Kennedy appeared in Wolf Creek 2, Fat Tony & Co, and supernatural drama, Glitch.
Former 2DayFM newsreader Geoff Field shared a tribute to the actor.
'RIP Gerard Kennedy who's died aged 93,' he wrote on Facebook.
'He had many roles but I will always remember him as Detective Frank Banner in Division 4.'

Homicide squad called in after man shot dead in Wagga Wagga
Police in New South Wales say a man has died after being shot during an altercation in Wagga Wagga. Emergency services were called to Connorton Avenue in the suburb of Ashmont at about 3:00am. Police said the man, who was yet to be formally identified, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. A crime scene has been established and forensic officers have examined the site.
