Singapore thanks Malaysia and Oman for evacuating citizens from Iran
SINGAPORE: Singapore has expressed its deepest appreciation and gratitude to the governments of Malaysia and Oman for facilitating the safe return of its citizens from Iran.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MFA) spokesperson said that a Singaporean was evacuated with a group of Malaysians and other nationals from Iran to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, with the assistance of the Malaysian government.
Meanwhile, a family of three Singaporeans was evacuated from Teheran, Iran, to Muscat, Oman, with the assistance of the Omani government, alongside a group of Omani citizens and other foreign nationals.
"The Singapore Embassy in Muscat and the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur worked closely with their host governments and embassy counterparts to facilitate the Singaporeans' departure from Iran,' the spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
MFA has also extended the necessary consular assistance to seven other Singaporeans in Iran who have since departed via the Iran-Armenia land border and the port of Bandar Abbas to the United Arab Emirates.
The spokesperson said that since the outbreak of the conflict between Iran and Israel, the MFA has been rendering consular assistance to Singaporeans in Iran, including exploring evacuation options in the absence of a Singapore diplomatic mission in the country. - Bernama

'While the survey continues to show that the public's top concerns remain the economy, the absence of price shocks despite the withdrawal of diesel fuel subsidies in 2024 has helped ease sentiments,' it said. The centre said Anwar has also enhanced Malaysia's global profile by hosting China's President Xi Jinping and chairing ASEAN in 2025 which gave him a diplomatic spotlight. 'New investment deals, trade cooperation and leadership in Global South initiatives have bolstered his image at home,' it said. At the same time, the centre said the federal government's rating also improved to 50 per cent in May 2025 compared with 40 per cent in June 2024. It said dissatisfaction towards the federal government eased to 48 per cent compared with 58 per cent a year ago.

Embassy: Malaysians in Jordan unaffected by Sunday attacks in Iran

Malaysian newspaper The Star reported earlier on June 23 that the group of 24 individuals who were evacuated from Iran touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 at 11.03pm on June 22.
