18-year-old charged with murder in quadruple killing at northwest Georgia park
An 18-year-old has been charged with murder several months after four people were killed in a northwest Georgia park.
Andres Jared Guzman, of Rome, was arrested Tuesday night in the August 2024 shooting in Pleasant Grove Park near Dalton, the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office said.

The victims were identified as
Joshua Pedro Pelico-Pelico, 19, of Dalton
David Antonio Delgadillo, 21, of Dalton
Daniel Segura-Cruz, 17, of Rome
Robert Valencia, 18, of Rome
According to the sheriff's office, some individuals drove from Rome to meet with Delgadillo and Pelico at the park for drugs.
They believe the two groups exchanged gunfire with one another.

Soon after the shooting, a 16-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and charged.
Guzman is charged with murder and is being held at the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office Detention Center.

‘Outside agitators' blamed for ICE protest damage in Brookhaven; AG warns against violence
Six people face charges after a protest of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement operations that was largely peaceful through the day experienced violence Tuesday night. Brookhaven's mayor told Channel 2's Michael Doudna that the people responsible for a lot of the damage were not from the area. 'It's clear that they were outside agitators, decided to try to basically goad us into action,' Mayor John Park said. Around 9:30 p.m., windows were smashed on multiple police cars and fireworks were thrown. Park said those actions are a crime, not a protest. 'Pretty much all the protesters, they don't want violence,' he said. 'They want to be heard.' Estevan Hernandez helped organize the protest, speaking out against ICE operations across the country. 'L.A. was the spark, and we're seeing it travel across the country now,' he said of the nationwide demonstrations. Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr on Wednesday warned against people getting violent. 'If you use violence for the purposes of changing public policy, we can and will charge you with domestic terrorism,' Carr said. For most of the evening Tuesday, hundreds of people peacefully rallied along Buford Highway. This will likely be one of multiple protests in the near future, as law enforcement will have to balance First Amendment rights with public safety. 'People have the right to be heard,' Park said. 'We support that, but our main concern is we want to keep people safe.' The same group that organized Tuesday's protest has scheduled another one Saturday in DeKalb County. Suspect in murder of local 32-year-old father arrested in Kentucky
A suspect in the murder of a 32-year-old Fairborn man was arrested in Kentucky on Wednesday. Peters is believed to be in custody of the Christian County Jail and awaits extradition back to Fairborn. Further information about his connection to Smith was not available. Officer hit by car in Carrollton
All lanes of Highway 27 North in Carrollton are closed after an officer was hit by a vehicle while directing traffic, Carrollton police said. Police say the location is near Ingles. They are asking people to avoid the area. The officer was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, a public information officer confirmed to Channel 2 News.
