Ninja's newest air fryer that stacks for meals on top plummets to cheapest price

Daily Record26-04-2025

For people with busy lives, finding ways to cook as efficiently, cleanly and easily as possible is often a priority. Whether it's for a weekly meal prep or a family dinner party, being able to cook multiple dishes at once is one way that could save time and energy. A staple item that most households now have is an air fryer, known for its speedy, mess-free cooking style. Although there are a range of air fryer brands, Ninja is said to be one of the best. They help customers cook using little to no oil, promising healthier meals with crispy results, from chunky chips and roasted vegetables to fried chicken. An air fryer can be an expensive purchase, but now the Ninja Double Stack XL Air Fryer is down to £229.99 from £269.99. This air fryer differs from many others as it can cook up to four dishes at once with its two non-stick drawers, two meal racks to separate the dishes, and two crisper plates - Sunday roasts will now be ready in ample time. READ MORE: Aldi's £20 Scottish gin named 'best in the country' at prestigious competition READ MORE: Get £20 off Ninja kettle that keeps water hot 30 minutes The air fryer has a total capacity of 9.5 litres, which, for example, could cook a whole 1.8kg chicken in each drawer and feed up to eight people. Customers can also match their cooking settings across all levels to ensure that the food is ready at the same time and nothing goes cold. No matter what shoppers want to cook, the Ninja air fryer will have it covered thanks to its six functions: air fry, max crisp, roast, bake, dehydrate, and reheat. According to the website, there are a number of benefits with this fryer in terms of both cost and health. The Ninja airfryer will save customers up to 55% on energy bills in comparison to an oven and is also up to 55% faster than fan ovens - it also will help with health and reduce oil as it uses up to 75% less fat than traditional frying methods. As mentioned, there is an array of airfryers on the market and if shoppers want a cheaper option, they could try the Tefal Easy Fry Dual XXL Air Fryer in Black for £139 from Argos, which is the largest dual air fryer for Tefal as it comes with a 6.5 litre drawer and a 4.5 litre drawer. It also includes a removable bowl, two cooking compartments and pre-set programmes including fries, chicken, vegetables, fish, dessert, dehydration and manual mode. Another option could be the Black 4L Manual Air Fryer from Asda for £50 which has a 4 litre capacity basket, up to 60 minutes timer and an automatic timer shut off. However, shoppers have rated the Ninja airfryer highly with a 4.3 out of 5 star rating from a total of 973 reviews. One shopper said: 'Perfect. Fits perfectly in our small kitchen and cooks food to perfection. Only used the oven once so far.' Another said: 'Love it - my new kitchen hero! I honestly didn't expect to love this air fryer this much, but the Ninja Double Stack XL has quickly become my go-to for almost every meal. Being able to cook two things at once - like salmon in one drawer and veggies in the other - saves me so much time and hassle. Everything comes out crispy, tasty and healthier without all the oil. It's also really easy to use and clean, which is a huge bonus. I find myself using it daily now - it's one of the best kitchen purchases I've made in ages!' Although Ninja is a well-loved brand, some customers weren't satisfied with their purchase this time around. One said, 'I personally found the double fryer not as good as the single fryer. The chips just didn't seem to crisp, and the compartments are smaller than the one compartment on the single.' 'Best thing I've bought, it does everything I expected,' said another shopper.

Chippy famous for legendary fish suppers launches first ever breakfast supper

It is described as being 'a brekkie to be proud of' on the mornings when 'only Pure Filth will do' CHIP CHIP HOORAY Chippy famous for legendary fish suppers launches first ever breakfast supper Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SCOTTISH fish and chip shop has launched its first-ever breakfast supper - and fans will be thrilled. Award-winning Cromars in St Andrews, Fife, has created a special morning delight for those who need a little something extra early doors. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 5 Cromar's Fish and Chips shop in St Andrews has launched a new breakfast supper Credit: supplied 5 And it is set to go down a treat with customers Credit: FACEBOOK: CROMARS 5 Owner Wendy Napthine-Frame says, 'it's big, bold and gloriously indulgent' Credit: PA The popular chippy is famed for its legendary fish suppers, dog-friendly dining, and cheeky take on traditional favourites. And its most recent creation is described as being "a brekkie to be proud of" on the mornings when "only Pure Filth will do". Bosses have said the new menu, dubbed the Pure Filthy Breakfast, is perfect for anyone who overdid it the night before or is just crawling home after a night out. They said it's also a tasty option for workers whose jobs require them to get up super early during the wee hours. The new breakfast menu will be served to punters between 9am and 11am almost daily. And the new headline option is the £8.95 Bigger Bites, which is a base of golden hash brown bites, topped with a fried egg, smothered in melted cheese, and loaded with your choice of sauces. A proper St Andrews chippy breakfast for anyone who knows that sometimes only something outrageously filthy will hit the spot Wendy Napthine-Frame It will also include the option of either smoked sausage bits, crispy bacon, or a veggie sausage. The choices of sauces on offer are good old-fashioned brown sauce, tomato ketchup, spicy chipotle mayo or hot creamy horseradish for anyone who fancies something a little bolder. But for those who aren't so keen on something so heavy in the morning, Cromars is also serving classic breakfast rolls. Customers can pick up a bacon, sausage or veggie roll instead if they're looking for something easy. The Golden Fry: A Beloved Scottish Chippy Hits the Market (1) Or those who're looking for something lighter, there's the new 'Boost Your Breakfast Box' for £5.95. This includes a Greek yoghurt with chocolate granola and a Monster Mango Loco yoghurt shake. Bosses say this is the "ultimate morning wake-up call", adding: "Still Cromars. Just that little bit cleaner!" Wendy Napthine-Frame, owner of Cromars, said: 'We've built our reputation on serving great-tasting food with a side of fun and banter. Flavour-packed dishes are what we're known for. Our new 'Pure Filth Breakfast' is no exception – it's big, bold and gloriously indulgent Wendy Napthine-Frame "At Cromars, we don't take ourselves too seriously – but we do take our food seriously. "Fresh fish, top-quality ingredients and flavour-packed dishes are what we're known for. "Our new 'Pure Filth Breakfast' is no exception – it's big, bold and gloriously indulgent. "A proper St Andrews chippy breakfast for locals, students, workers and visitors to St Andrews, really anyone who knows that sometimes only something outrageously filthy will hit the spot.' It's not the first time that Wendy has hit headlines because of her incredible creations. In May last year, Cromars launched a special menu for dogs to become Scotland's first canine-friendly chippy. The menu includes £2 beef sausages and £1.50 'puppucinnos' - whipped cream that is usually served in an espresso-sized cup or a small bowl. It also offers free dog biscuits, and 50 per cent of sales from the canine meals will be donated to the SSPCA. Wendy said the menu was inspired by the amount of customers who visit the eatery with their four-legged friends. The businesswoman, who also has three dogs of her own, also wanted to help owners enjoy their suppers in peace by offering pet meals. AWARD-WINNING CHIPPY Cromars was established in 2013 and is one of Scotland's best-loved fish and chip shops. It specialises in making the very best fish and chips, adhering to three key pillars of quality: fish is only ever cooked to order, only the very best 'angel cut' Haddock is used, caught from the North Sea, and locally sourced ingredients. Cromars Classic Fish and Chips in St Andrews is multi-award-winning for the quality of its fish and chips. It ws crowned 'Best Fish Supper on the East Coast of Scotland' at the 2023 Scotland's Fish & Chip Awards. Cromars' owner, Wendy Napthine-Frame, has fishing in her blood. Born and raised in Peterhead, the largest landing port for fish in the UK, with a large extended family all working in the fishing industry either on boats or in the markets, Wendy has an innate understanding of what constitutes the best quality fish, along with the connections to source the very best that Scotland has to offer. Wendy regularly takes a 'fry' around to the homes of friends and family. Forget wine, chocolate or flowers, a fry is a box of the very best fish to eat as a treat. At the time, she said: "We are a nation of dog lovers. I have three dogs myself, so I know how much people love them and want them around as part of the family. "We see so many people travelling with their dogs now, especially as we come into the summer season, when the city is teeming with tourists and visitors. 'We are blessed in St Andrews with wonderful beaches and countryside, offering perfect walks for dogs and their owners, and for years Cromars has welcomed them all afterwards for a fish supper. 'I've often thought we should create a special menu for dogs, not least so that owners can eat our award-winning fish and chips in peace. "Without the pleading eyes and the nose-nudges that as dog owners we all understand! 'So, we have done just that with the introduction of our new menu, which is catering for doggies and doing good by helping support the tremendous work that the SSPCA does in Scotland.' 5 The latest creation has been called the 'Pure Filth Breakfast' Credit: FACEBOOK: CROMARS

You can score free McDonald's hash browns and McNuggets this week — here's how

Just imagine the fresh potatoey smell of those McDonald's hash browns as they melt in your mouth. Or the crunch of that chicken McNugget as you chow down on it after a night out. Good, right? Well for a limited time only they're about to taste even better because you can get them for free. Well, you can enjoy six-piece chicken McNuggets free from June 16 to June 22, if you spend £15 or more on McDelivery. Or if you're not one to skip breakfast then nab a free hash brown instead. But again, you'll need to spend £10 or more on McDelivery. This may feel a little steep for someone dining alone, so there's a cheeky alternative for those looking to keep the cost down – but you'll need to be quick. For just one day only, on Monday June 16, you can get nine-piece chicken McNuggets for just £1.79. Now it would usually cost you £5.09 so that's a pretty good deal. All you have to do is order them via the McDonald's app. If these deals are up your street, then get familiar with the weekly Deal Drop from the beloved fast food chain. Look out every Monday on your email for information about all the deals available that week, or if you're on the app, check the Rewards and Offers section. The deals here can be used once only but apply to both McDelivery and in-store orders. Now, it was only two weeks ago that hash browns made headlines, but for a slightly different reason. Budget supermarket Aldi attempted to 'outdo' McDonald's by hitting the road in its own food truck, pulling up outside select McDonald's from 11.01am to offer its own free version of the breakfast staple. The idea came after 62% of Brits believed 11am is too early to stop serving breakfast, with more than a fifth of us wanting breakfast food to be available all day. As an alternative Aldi offered freshly cooked Oakhurst Breakfast Hash Browns all day – and it caused quite the stir. The excitement doesn't stop as some free hash browns though. A big menu change at the fast food chain is set to arrive on June 18. McDonald's will be swapping out the current limited-edition menu items and welcoming back four fan-favourites and debuting a brand new burger. The new item has been hailed as the 'most McDonald's burger ever' and is called the Big Arch, a name it wholeheartedly deserves as it's even bigger and wider than the classic Big Mac. The beast of a burger (£7.99 on its own or £9.99 for a Medium Meal) features new Big Arch sauce, two Quarter Pounder beef patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, slivered onions, pickles and lettuce, all stacked up (somewhat precariously) in a sesame and poppy seed bun. As well as the new burger, two other savoury treats are joining the line-up including the Cheesy McCrispy (£6.69 or £8.49 for a Medium Meal), which first launched at Christmas last year. More Trending The chicken burger is a 'levelled up' version of the classic McCrispy and sees a chicken breast in a crispy coating topped with lettuce, crispy onions, bacon, two slices of cheese and a pink pickled onion chutney. This is then covered in a cheese sauce and served in a toasted bun. And the cheesy goodness doesn't stop there, as Halloumi Fries (£2.99 for a four-piece box) are also returning to the menu, served with a Sweet Chilli Dip. Two popular desserts are also making a comeback and one is a Halloween favourite. View More » The Toffee Crisp McFlurry (£2.39) is returning as well as the Toffee Apple Pie (£2.09). The former is comprised of soft dairy ice cream swirled with Toffee Crisp pieces and topped with toffee sauce, while the latter has a spiced apple filling with toffee sauce and toffee pieces.
