Pascal Siakam had an astonishing night for the recognition that followed his standout performance. After helping the Indiana Pacers clinch a dominant 125-108 Game 6 win over the New York Knicks and secure a place in the NBA Finals, Siakam was named the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
The moment became even more special when NBA legend Magic Johnson took to social media to personally praise the veteran forward's effort and impact.
Magic Johnson praised Pascal Siakam after MVP performance
Magic Johnson, a five-time NBA champion and longtime basketball ambassador, didn't hold back in his admiration. 'Congratulations to Pascal Siakam for being named the Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP!' he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), shortly after the Pacers' Game 6 win. He also gave credit to the organization, adding, 'Congratulations to Indiana Pacers Owner Herb Simon, Head Coach Rick Carlisle, Pacers superstars Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam and the rest of the team for advancing to the NBA Finals!'
Siakam absolutely earned the praise.
He was the driving force behind Indiana's success throughout the series. In the closeout game, he led all scorers with 31 points, going 10-of-18 from the field, 3-of-5 from deep, and 8-of-11 from the line. He also contributed five rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and a steal. This bounce-back effort came after a quiet Game 5, where he scored only 15 points.
'Tonight, after a bad Game 5, we wanted to bounce back,' Siakam said during the TNT postgame show.
'I have, like, 100% belief in my teammates. Whenever we're down, we always find a way. And we did that tonight.'
Across the six-game series, Siakam averaged 23.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. His standout Game 2 performance saw him drop a season-best 39 points, putting his full scoring package on display. According to Law Murray of The Athletic, Siakam has led the Pacers in total field goals made during every playoff series he's played with them and was the top scorer in five of those six matchups.
Post-game, coach Rick Carlisle said, 'Our two stars, Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam, put our team on their backs and just decided that we were not going to lose this game today.'

Indiana Pacers fan lists out why them winning the NBA Championship would be one for the history books

Indiana Pacers reach NBA Finals (via Getty Images) The 2025 NBA season is coming to an end, and the Indiana Pacers have beat quite a few odds and some of the best teams this season to get a spot in the finals. The final run between the Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunders will start on June 5 at the Paycom Center, and fans are already making assumptions about who will take the trophy home. A Pacers fan recently took to Reddit to list out quite a few reasons, showing how, if they win, it could be a playoff season for the books in NBA history. Indiana Pacers advancing to the NBA Finals has fans talking The Indiana Pacers beat the New York Knicks 4-2 during the Eastern Conference Finals to take their spot in the NBA Finals. They will be up against the Oklahoma City Thunders , who beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals, 4-1. Before that, the Pacers crossed off the Cleveland Cavaliers during the Conference Semifinals, 4-1, which was a feat on its own, given the Cavaliers had a 64-18 run during the regular season, compared to the Pacers' 50-32 one. That's 14 more wins for the Cavaliers, but the Pacers have shown their grit and determination during the playoff season, becoming a team everyone was on the lookout for. And now, a Pacers fan has a whole list of reasons showcasing why it could be "one of the greatest playoff runs of all time" if the Indiana Pacers ended up winning the NBA Finals. User @arsenic8787 , who proclaims to be a Pacers fan, posted on the r/nba subreddit about his thoughts on what it could mean for the game if the team ends up defeating the Thunders during the finals. And he is not just saying it because he is emotionally charged with the Pacers making it to the finals after winning the Conference Finals. He has quite a few facts and figures to back him in his assumptions, and fans couldn't help but notice. As mentioned by the fan, "Pacers had the lowest odds to win the finals at the start of the season," and they had a pretty hard time making it to the Playoffs. They were the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference, after the Cavaliers, the Boston Celtics, and the New York Knicks. Indiana Pacers beat multiple odds to make it to the finals It is also true that the team does not have a true superstar scorer or defensive star. Moreover, the Indiana Pacers' best player, Tyrese Haliburton, was voted as the "most overrated" at the start of the playoffs by anonymous NBA players. Fortunately for him, he is showing everyone his worth with every game played. The Pacers haven't been in the NBA finals in the last 25 years, so the fact that they made it to the finals this season against all odds speaks for itself. The chances of them winning against the Thunders are also pretty slim. The Thunders currently have the 6th highest odds to win the finals since 1968, when the Boston Celtics won the finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, in what was their tenth NBA Championship in twelve seasons. But given they "have had multiple 20 point comebacks," this season, it's easy to see why the Pacers fans are so deeply invested this time around. But even if things don't go their way in the finals, the Pacers have already made their fans immensely happy with what they have achieved this season. Tom Brady reveals the underrated reason he outplayed most quarterbacks—harsh weather and outdoor stadiums

Tom Brady says mastering bad weather made him unstoppable in the NFL's harshest games (Credit: Getty Images) When Tom Brady stepped onto the NFL stage in 2000 as a sixth-round pick, few could have imagined the quiet kid from Michigan would go on to define an era. Over 23 illustrious seasons, Brady didn't just dominate; he reimagined what excellence at quarterback could look like. Seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVPs, and over 89,000 passing yards later, his résumé reads like a myth. But behind those legendary numbers lies something deeper—an often-overlooked factor that helped make the GOAT what he became: his relationship with weather. Tom Brady turned storms into strategy—how bad weather gave him a legendary edge over opponents During a recent appearance on the Veritasium podcast, Tom Brady peeled back the curtain on a crucial edge he had over the competition—his willingness, even preference, to embrace unpredictable outdoor conditions. 'I preferred outdoor, 70 degrees, humid, tiny little breeze, just to keep you cool… I felt like my depth perception was a little better outside. I liked just the natural feel of the natural air. The dome always felt like a vacuum,' Brady shared candidly. What Everyone Gets Wrong About Football (ft. Tom Brady) While other quarterbacks often favor climate-controlled domes to eliminate environmental variables, Brady leaned into the chaos. He treated every gust of wind, every drop of rain, as part of the game plan. And that wasn't just a game-day decision—it was forged over thousands of reps in all kinds of weather, year after year. 'I'd say I practiced in it all the time… I knew exactly what to wear for every single condition. Played 23 seasons, 100 to 120 practices a year… that's over 2,000 practices,' he added. This obsessive attention to environmental nuance might sound excessive to some, but for Brady, it was standard operating procedure. From the type of undershirt to the precise number of heat packs in his hand muff, nothing was left to chance. 'This is the muff that I wear… This is how many heat packs I put in the muff to keep my hand warm when it's 30 degrees versus when it's 50 degrees,' he explained. It's easy to credit his on-field dominance to talent and mental toughness, but what set Brady apart was his ability to reduce variables—especially ones most quarterbacks dread. He didn't just tolerate adverse weather. He rehearsed in it, adapted to it, and ultimately mastered it. Brady compared his preparation to the calibration of a Formula 1 car. Every micro-adjustment counted, every detail affected performance. In his mind, success wasn't about reacting to weather—it was about anticipating it and using it as an asset. While others prayed for perfect conditions, Brady engineered them from within. And in doing so, he built a legacy not just of greatness—but of total control. That, more than stats and rings, might be the true secret to becoming the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
