Crystal Hefner applies for name change
The 39-year-old model - who got engaged to James Ward earlier this year - has officially petitioned to revert back to Crystal Margaret Harris, using the surname she had before marrying late Playboy tycoon Hugh Hefner in 2012.
Court documents on the matter obtained by People magazine didn't list a hearing date but in California, legal name changes typically require a public notice period and a formal court hearing before they can be carried out.
Crystal previously claimed she only loved Hugh - who died in 2017 aged 91 - like an elderly relative.
She wrote in her memoir 'Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself': 'Life in the (Playboy) mansion wasn't the fairy tale I had once hoped it would be.
'From the outside, sure, it had all the trappings of a fairy tale. But it wasn't, and everyone who lived there knew it.
'I was never in love with Hef, but I loved this old man in the ways you are supposed to love your elders.
'In the ways you are supposed to love someone who is nearing the end of a long and complicated life.'
The model also spoke of her late husband's insistence on controlling how she looked.
She said on Tamron Hall: '[He wanted me to] be helpless, be small, have bleach blonde hair and stay skinny and have big fake boobs.'
She added Hugh would 'tap' her head whenever her natural brunette roots would show through and once hit her thigh and said she needed to 'tone up'.
Crystal added he also wanted her to be 'seen and not speak', and said: 'That was hard. This charming man all of the sudden is changing.'
She said she was so worried about keeping him happy she lost all sense of self and 'became whatever he wanted'.
After a series of surgeries, Crystal announced in 2022 she had 'everything fake' removed from her body.
She also reflected on the "really big power imbalance" of her marriage.
She told People magazine: "I realised I was dealing with a really big power imbalance. It seemed like a world of success and fantasy, but everyone's having to sleep with an 80 year old. There's a price. Everything has a price.'

Pete Davidson gets new perspective
Pete Davidson's impending fatherhood has given him a new perspective on life. The 31-year-old comedian and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt revealed earlier this month they are expecting their first child together and since he discovered the 29-year-old beauty was pregnant, the former Saturday Night Live star has experienced a "weird sense of calmness" and is no longer looking to his career for fulfilment. He told People magazine: 'I'm just excited to take care of the little one. The second I found out the news, I was like, 'Oh wow, what I do is just a job.' "I realised I was kind of basing my happiness on work, which is ridiculously unhealthy. So it gave me this weird sense of calmness, where this is just a job and now I have someone to do it for.' The King of Staten Island star is looking forward to his child enjoying playdates with four-month-old Saga, the daughter of his friend Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox. He said: 'We're going to have awesome play dates. Yeah, that's [going to be] a cool play date.' Pete thinks MGK - who also has 16-year-old Casie with former girlfriend Emma Cannon - is a great parent and has been looking to him for inspiration. He said of his pal: 'He's the best dad ever. He flies back and forth to Cleveland twice a week just to see his daughter play volleyball. And he's just always with his kids, and it's just such a beautiful thing to see. 'It's his favourite thing. And he's like, 'This is going to be your favourite thing.' So I'm really excited." Pete realised he can juggle both acting work and parenthood after seeing his The Pickup co-star Keke Palmer, 31, look after her two-year-old son Leodis - who she has with her ex-partner Darius Jackson - on the set of the comedy-heist movie. He told Extra: "What was cool is when we were doing The Pickup, Keke's baby was just born and she had him on set the whole time, and she would go into a take and then run over, you know, play with the baby, and it made me realise it's possible to co-exist in both worlds. You know? "I was really impressed with her… the way she was parenting on set." Pete thought it was "cool" to get parenting advice from his idol, acting legend Eddie Murphy, 64 - who has 10 children. He said: "He actually, his advice was the best. "He goes, 'I have no advice.' He goes, 'Because you can't really tell anybody how to raise their own kid. But it's going to change your life and you're going to love it, and I'll know you'll be good at it.' "So, I mean, that's a cool thing to get from your idol, you know?'

Matthew Lawrence wants to use AI for 'something special' with Robin Williams' voice
Matthew Lawrence wants to use AI to do "something really special" with the late Robin Williams. The 45-year-old star played one of the comedy legend's children in Mrs Doubtfire and he is keen to get the consent of the late actor's family to work on a project using the voice of Robin, who took his own life in 2014. Matthew told Entertainment Weekly: 'Obviously, with the respect and with the okay from his family, I would love to do something really special with his voice, because I know for a generation, that voice is just so iconic. 'It's not just the fact that I knew him and worked with him. "It's in my head, it's in everybody's head, and it would be so cool." Matthew got the idea of using AI to recreate Robin's voice after he saw an old commercial starring the Good Will Hunting star which made him realise there were parallels to the modern day. He explained: 'It's kinda like this very contemporary, modern, almost sort of foreshadowing of what's going on commercial that he did, where he did this computerised voiceover. 'And it always stuck with me. And then, during his passing, with the AI coming out, I'm like, 'Man, he's gotta be the voice of AI. He's gotta be the voice in something.' So yeah, I would love to do that.' One thing Matthew would love to use AI to do with Robin's voice is to give out driving directions on a phone. He said: 'It would be so cool. I'm telling you." The former Boy Meets World actor previously praised Robin for the way he treated him like an adult when they made Mrs. Doubtfire. He told People magazine: "He really opened up. I was only 12. I mean this guy … Man, he was just so amazing to be able to give me the respect, almost as an adult, at 12 years old, to really get an open look into his life, the performer side and then also the private side, and how they wrestled with each other." And even after filming on the 1993 movie was complete, Robin made sure he stayed in touch with his young co-star and offered him advice when he needed it. Matthew said: "He stayed a part of my life, you know? That movie could have wrapped [and] like everybody else, he could have gone his separate way, but he didn't. "He stayed invested, and he gave me some incredible life lessons that definitely kept me from some dark places at times. And I'll just never be able to thank him enough for that."

Adam Sandler admits fan pressure led to him finally bringing back Happy Gilmore after nearly 30 years
Adam Sandler is finally bringing back Happy Gilmore after nearly 30 years thanks to constant fan pressure. The 58-year-old actor and comedian confirmed the long-anticipated sequel during an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday, 21 July, and explained devotees of the golf spoof film had consistently asked about a follow-up to the 1996 comedy. He said: 'When I walk(ed) down the street a lotta times people (would) say, 'You ever gonna do Happy Gilmore 2?' 'And for 28 years, I was like, 'What are you talking about? No.' And then all of a sudden, I was like, 'Maybe'... people kept asking. And then it just felt right.' In Happy Gilmore 2, Adam reprises his role as the foul-mouthed, hockey-loving golfer. He said about how the follow-up film picks up at a more turbulent time in the character's life: 'His life isn't perfect right now – at least at the beginning of the movie. And he's a family man, and he's gettin' back into the golf game.' The new cast includes returning co-stars Ben Stiller, 58, Christopher McDonald, 70, and Julie Bowen, 54, along with newcomers such as NFL star Travis Kelce, 34, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, 30, and several professional golfers. When asked how such a wide-ranging ensemble was assembled, Adam said: 'I don't know how it happened. 'We wrote 'em stuff and everybody was kind enough to come. And everybody in it did a great job.' He added: 'Every day someone cool would show up and we'd hang out.' Christopher, who returns as villainous Shooter McGavin, said earlier this year Adam and Netflix had 'outdone themselves' with the sequel. Speaking to People magazine, he said: 'What I love about Adam Sandler is his heart. He's got so much love for people... and he's done some amazing work in the last few years. So I'm very happy for him.' Pressed for plot details, Christopher said he had signed a non-disclosure agreement, adding: 'This is kind of a big deal.' Adam previously discussed plans for follow-up film on Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast in 2023, on which he said: 'The movie itself picks up from an older guy who played golf a long time. Some stuff goes on in his life, and he's different – he's a bit of a mess. And then we try to get his life cooking again.' Happy Gilmore 2 will be released on Netflix on 25 July.
