Independence Day: 2 police officers from Andhra Pradesh to receive President's Medal for distinguished service

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two senior police officers from Andhra Pradesh have been selected for the prestigious President's Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Independence Day- 2025.
Superintendent of Police Bhadraiah Chennupati and Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajeev Kumar Gopu will be honoured for their outstanding contributions to policing and public service.
According to the list released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, twenty police personnel, including Inspector General Ravi Krishna Ake, Superintendent of Police Srinivasa Rao Valluri and inspectors, sub-inspectors, and head-constables from Andhra Pradesh will also receive the Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of their notable dedication and long-standing service.
Three personnel from Prisons and Correctional Service Department, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Dr Varaprasad Mamillapalli, chief head warder Ravi Kumar Karanam and head warder VV Sanyasi Rao Talaparthi will be awarded for their services.
The awards form part of the national list of Gallantry and Service medals announced every year on the eve of Independence Day. These honours acknowledge extraordinary courage, distinguished service, and commitment to safeguarding public safety. eom
