Luckily, cookies are everywhere you look. For this map compiling some of Seattle's best cookies we went to not just bakeries but coffee shops and even grocery stores. Anywhere there was a cookie, we went there and we ate it.
The result of our research is this rundown of Seattle cookies, as usual organized geographically rather than ranked. Note that this is a distinct list from our bakery list or our dessert list. If you're one of those people who believes the only proper way to enjoy a cookie is hot out of the oven, try this list of Eater editors' favorite cookie recipes.

Hana Yohannes started serving tender cakes and stellar Pop-Tarts out of a little house in the Central District in 2020, but the business expanded when it moved into its new home in the Pike/Pine corridor in 2024. Shikorina's expansion brought in a new line of cookies, with the house special bebere caramel cookies ranking as one of the best and most unique cookies in the city. A soft and chewy cookie dough gets a nutty edge with the addition of crushed walnuts, all of which gets wrapped around a runny caramel filling made fragrant by Ethiopian berbere spice mix. These suckers are the size of my hand, have the perfect texture combo of crispy edges with a soft and chewy center, and are loaded with mix-ins for those who like a big, substantial treat. The Monster cookie lives up to its name with a scary amount of oats, nuts, chocolate chips, and M&Ms, and the Buckeye cookie comes topped with a whole peanut butter cup placed right in the center.

Little Jaye is constantly switching up seasonal flavors, all of which are worth the long waits, but keep a keen eye out for the candy-loaded monster cookie with M&Ms, Butterfingers, peanut butter cups, and chocolate chips for a veritable candy dish in one singular bite.

After 4 Decades On Sunset Blvd., A Beloved Chinese Restaurant Is Leaving West Hollywood
Sunset Boulevard, a long stretch of road that runs through West Hollywood casually called the Sunset Strip, is home to some of the most iconic restaurants in Los Angeles. However, it will no longer be the home of a cherished restaurant staple — Chin Chin. The restaurant that has called West Hollywood home for 45 years, will be closing this summer, with its last night of service on July 27. In a statement made on the restaurant's Facebook page, it notes that the reasoning for the closing is unexpected, but that its other locations in Brentwood, Studio City, and Las Vegas will remain open. "Over the decades, we've celebrated countless milestones, shared unforgettable meals, and built lasting connections with our cherished guests," the statement said. "None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support, and for that, we are deeply grateful." The statement also notes that the restaurant has launched a GoFundMe page to help them look for a new home in the area, and to support the staff during the transition. Understandably, fans of Chin Chin had a lot of memories to share on social media about how much the restaurant has meant to them. One user noted that his first experience eating there was in 1987, and since then he has always ordered the famed Chinese Chicken Salad and Chicken Fried Rice for parties. Others expressed disappointment and disbelief with the sudden closing, asking fans to visit the other locations to show support. According to CBS News, the strip has gone through a tough time recently, with many of its most well-known businesses closing. Le Petit Four, a famous French bakery that had called West Hollywood home for 44 years, had to close in Marchm and is still looking for investors and a new location to call home. According to KTLA, Rock and Reilly's Irish pub, which had been open for nearly 15 years on the Sunset Strip, shut down unexpectedly just before St. Patrick's Day. Sunset Strip Liquor Store, which opened in 2020 and replaced Sun Bee Liquor Market, also announced its closure at the end of March. So why has Sunset Boulevard gone through such troubled times as of late? An Instagram post from Le Petits Four in March cited a litany of reasons, which while specific to this establishment, may also explain the rest of the shutdowns in the area. "Owner Alexandre Morgenthaler, who has lovingly run Le Petit Four since 1999, did everything possible to keep our doors open," the statement reads. "But with rising costs — including a 30% minimum wage increase since COVID and soaring rent — along with a decline in foot traffic, the decision became unavoidable." Seriencamp kicked off here in Germany today with familiar themes dominating chatter – money, streaming levies and co-productions. The first morning of the German TV industry event in Cologne saw 14 European networks such as ZDF, France Télévisions and NRK outlining their international co-production strategies. Smart collaborations, making money stretch and partnering with both European partners and global streamers were keys for most of those on stage. During one section of the talk, commissioning execs from Belgium's VRT and Switzerland's SRF addressed how global streamer levies in their territories had been received. Elly Vervloet, Commissioning Editor and International Drama Expert of VRT, outlined how a levy in the French-speaking Wallonia area of Belgium, which orders broadcasters and streamers with sales over €150M ($170M) up to 9.5% of their local revenues on local production, had highlighted that local networks needed to supercharge development. 'We have to produce in a smart way – we don't have a lot of money, as we are a small broadcaster,' she said. 'Luckily, we have a funding system in Belgium that really helps with funds the tax shelter. With the investment obligations for telcos and streamers, it's really important to get the ball rolling.' Netflix made a legal challenge against the levy in August and was joined by Disney, which declared itself an interested party. Given Donald Trump's tallying cries against international streaming levies and his well-publicized spats with the European Union over trade, the case is being categorized by some commentators as the test case for similar cases elsewhere. For now, however, it remains in place, sitting alongside Belgium's favorable funding systems. Similarly in Switzerland, the implementation of the streaming tax, dubbed locally as the 'Lex Netflix' is being keenly felt. With local streaming services become increasingly popular with audiences and searching for ambitious projects, the idea of collaboration between them and the likes of Netflix is being studied as a business model. Bettina Albert from SFR said: 'The difference to Belgium is we don't have a funding system and it is a problem. Now we have the 'Lex Netflix,' and we can see the number of projects that are coming to us as interesting co-productions are increasing.' However, after the session we spoke with a well-connected source in the Swiss scripted market, who told us that while there had been in boom in development following the levy's introduction, primarily for Netflix, this had not yet resulted in a significant number of commissions. 'We all want them to get started,' they added. Elsewhere in the Seriencamp kickoff session, Mourad Koufane from France Télévisions' international co-production team summed up what international co-productions needed to achieve for the French pubcaster. At present, France Télévisions only makes three international co-productions a year, through European commissioning club The Alliance. 'When we choose these three projects, it is important they are super-impactful and organically internationally,' he said. 'Even though we are doing very few, we hope they will be the talk of the town in France.' The Best Peach Recipes, According to Eater Staff

Peach season is upon us which means, yes, you can dive straight into ripe peaches, the juices trickling down your arm and leaving behind a sticky trail that smells like summer. Alternatively, you could whip up a peach and halloumi salad, pair grilled peaches with goat cheese and runner beans, or turn them into a cake. If you're looking for the best peach recipes to try out this summer, here are the favorites of six Eater staffers. Seared Halloumi Cheese and Nectarine Salad Zaynab Issa, Bon Appétit Here are a few food facts (you might say opinions, but I'd argue they are facts ) that I will always stand by: Halloumi is one of the best — and more deeply underrated — cheeses. More people should be using sumac. Peaches (and nectarines) are one of the best fruits to incorporate into savory dishes. This salad recipe from Bon Appétit combines all three maxims into a near-perfect summer dish. I've made it multiple times, each time riffing just a bit (as one should with salad) — changing out the pomegranate molasses for tamarind paste (when I ran out of the former), adding cucumbers (never a bad salad move), swapping different herbs (if you're out of parsley or mint, tarragon or basil would be great here too). And, of course, using peaches instead of nectarines, depending on what looked good at the market that week. Juicy, sweet yellow peaches are layered at the bottom of a pan, drizzled with a rich — yet not too sweet — bourbon caramel. The cake component is practically foolproof, with just a handful of ingredients mixed together and dumped on top. The alcohol in the bourbon cooks off, leaving only a whisper of the base notes of whatever bourbon is used. The cake is dense, but not overly so, and bakes up quite tender, sturdy enough to act as a base for the peaches and caramel. The only challenging part of this recipe is getting the caramel just right, but with some practice and plenty of attention to keep the sweet mixture from burning, it's not too difficult.
