Live updates: Messi, Suarez in starting lineup as Inter Miami faces the N.Y. Red Bulls
Inter Miami (11-4-5) enters the game with 38 points, in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, and looking to start climbing again after failing to secure any points this past Wednesday in a 3-0 loss at FC Cincinnati.
Messi starts once again just three days after his MLS-record five-game streak of games with multiple goals was snapped against Cincinnati.
Suarez also gets the start despite his recent struggles as he looks to find the back of the net for the first time since June 23 in a Club World Cup opening round game against Palmeiras. He last scored in an MLS league match on May 31 in Miami's 5-1 win over the Columbus Crew. Suarez has failed to score in Miami's past five matches across all competitions.
As Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano announced Friday, goalkeeper Oscar Ustari is out for Saturday's game after suffering an injury on Wednesday. Rocco Rios Novo will get the start.
Gonzalo Lujan (hamstring) returns to Miami's starting XI along with Federico Redondo, who missed Wednesday's game while dealing with an illness.
The rest of Miami's starting lineup consists of Marcelo Weigandt, Maxi Falcon, Jordi Alba, Tadeo Allende and Sergio Busquets.
Miami beat the Red Bulls 4-1 on May 3 at Chase Stadium. New York (9-8-6) enters Saturday's game with 33 points and in eighth place in the East.
