THE PERFORMANCES | It was the Mob Doctor reunion we didn't know we needed.
Criminal Minds: Evolution brought its latest season to a close by putting a face to Sicarius' insanely devoted disciple known as… well, the Disciple. There'd been some build-up for this deviant character, so when Jordana Spiro — whom we first came to know from the bubbly TBS sitcom My Boys! — showed up as the very damaged Tessa Lebrun, it took a moment to adjust expectations and then drink in her wonderfully modulated, delicious performance.
Evolution vet Zach Gilford, meanwhile, did terrific work with a script in which the Man Formerly Known as Sicarius, Elias Voit, found himself in the Disciple's lair, where the goal was to 'trigger' the mild-mannered amnesic into rediscovering the 'God'-like rush of killing someone — as he had to do when a captive Dr. Ochoa's (Aimee Garcia) life was threatened.
As Elias sussed out his situation, Gilford showed us the wheels always turn-turn-turning. Elias sternly schooled Tessa on why her plan to take his 'network' of killers was ill-conceived, and offered a better approach — but did he mean it? 'It doesn't matter what they know, it matters what they can prove,' he told Tessa after suggesting they frame Ochoa as a confederate, and his ice-cold shrewdness brought back the chills we felt when first meeting Sicarius nearly three years ago.
Spiro's material ran the gamut, due to several beefy flashback sequences — from sexually harassed grad student looking to blow off steam, to Uncle Cyrus' fraught captive, to ambitious Disciple. When Voit appeared to gun down Ochoa in cold blood, Spiro made Tessa seem downright intoxicated by the murderous sight. Similarly, when scolded by Voit, it was clear that Tessa felt blessed to glean wisdom from her own 'God.'
Capping the hour, Spiro got to play Tessa as a crestfallen, betrayed believer, while Gilford in the very final tease got us worrying that Voit's killer instinct in fact has been revived. Brrrr!

She fooled human lie detector Charlie Cale… and she fooled us, too. Patti Harrison was so good at playing Charlie's dopey new pal Alex in Poker Face's Season 2 finale, we didn't even suspect that she was also the cold-blooded assassin known as The Iguana. And yet Harrison made the transformation from goofball to killer completely seamless, taking on a confidently sinister tone as Alex spelled out how she pulled off her high-risk kills and managed to evade Charlie's lie-detecting skills in the process. (Harrison also made us laugh a lot along the way, like when Alex told Charlie that lying to her 'was like great sex. I assume. I don't really do physical pleasure.') Harrison crafted Alex into the ultimate nemesis for Charlie — so much so that we're actually hoping she survived that fiery car crash at the end, so we can see more of her sly tricks in the future. — Dave Nemetz
Immortal self-care, thy name is The Sandman's Destruction. Along those lines: Kudos to Barry Sloane for playing one of the fantasy series' Endless siblings with such refreshing lightness and ease. Episode 6 of the series' final season showcased Sloane's warm, relaxed performance as Dream and Delirium's 'prodigal' brother, a stark contrast to the gloom so prevalent elsewhere in the story. The joy Sloane brought to his scenes — a knowing smile at Dream's seriousness, a fond glance at Delirium —made us fall in love with the elusive Endless brother despite his scant screen time. Even when Destruction realized he'd have to leave the idyllic Greek island where he'd been hiding, Sloane's wry smile conveyed the character's bittersweet resignation: Destruction would continue, somewhere, and there was nothing to be done about it. Beautiful work, all around. — Kimberly Roots
In Friday's Resident Alien, D'arcy Bloom took a long hard look in the mirror and didn't like what she saw. After drunkenly losing thousands of the diner's money, D'arcy lied to her best friend Asta, who believed her without question. As a result, D'arcy began to spiral and Alice Wetterlund's sad, defeated eyes made us feel her character's remorse. She later admitted she was barely hanging on, leading to a full-blown crisis of conscience, one D'arcy knew stemmed from her worsening drinking problem. 'I don't feel good about my life. Why should I keep going?' she asked Harry, gutting us. The actress' body language and tone forced us to feel her pain all the way to the front steps of an AA meeting. Even when Wetterlund isn't slaying us with her impeccable comedic timing, her instincts and heart are always one of the show's brightest beacons of light. — Nick Caruso

Fact Check: TikTok Video Labeled "Important Prayer From Pope Leo" Is NOT Authentic

Did Pope Leo XIV issue an important prayer for all Americans on July 25, 2025? No, that's not true: A video originating on TikTok features an AI generated likeness of Pope Leo XIV speaking. The voiceover includes a prayer which does not match recently published public messages from the Pope. The fabricated video first appeared on TikTok account named @prayerswithpopeleo on July 25, 2025 (identical version archived here). This account was deleted from TikTok on July 28, 2025. The post used the following hashtags: #popeleoxiv #god #jesuslovesyou #jesuschrist #jesus #robertfrancisprevost #prayer This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing: On July 25, 2025 Pope Leo XIV posted only one message on the official @Pontifex account on X (embedded below). The social media post contains a link to the full text of his message (archived here) titled, "Message Of Pope Leo XIV For The 111th World Day Of Migrants And Refugees 2025" that was posted on the Vatican website the same day. The text of the authentic July 25, 2025 message from Pope Leo XIV does not contain similarities with the prayer in the AI generated TikTok video. A search in the index (archived here) of partner news sites and wire services for "Pope Leo prayer so all Americans have a good night" returned a link to a reel on Facebook with a copy of the AI-generated @prayerswithpopeleo TikTok video. A search (pictured below and archived here) returned only one result with the exact phrase from the prayer spoken in the TikTok voiceover, "Heavenly Father, tonight I lift up every believer across this great nation from coast to coast. Wrap your arms around your children." That result points to a post on Instagram (archived here) featuring a copy of the AI generated @prayerswithpopeleo TikTok video. No search results pointed to the official @Pontifex Instagram account of Pope Leo XIV or any other official Vatican sources. The video contains several artifacts common to reels that are artificially generated, such as the overly smooth texture of the skin rendering. Absent is the mole on Pope Leo's left upper lip. Another artifact visible in the video is a distortion in the background, which warps as the subject moves. A detail (pictured below) from a screenshot shows the moment at the start of the video when the doorframe appears to bend as the subject's cheek moves in front of it. Lead Stories uploaded a clip from the TikTok video to the AI generated content detection tool HIVE moderation. The results pictured in the composite image below were varied, ranging from 0.0 percent to 11.9 percent likely to contain AI generated content. Despite these low individual results, Hive gave an aggregated score of 99.6 percent, stating: Overall, the video is likely to be AI-Generated. On July 28, 2025 the @prayerswithpopeleo account on TikTok had six videos posted. These videos had similar prayers. Notably, each was dedicated to Americans specifically, and featured a request for people to engage with the post by adding personal information. Four seconds in, the voiceover says: If you are an American drop your name and the state you're watching from in the comments because I wanna pray for you personally. At the time of writing (Mon Jul 28 23:34:44 2025 UTC) the six videos pictured below and the @prayerswithpopeleo account had been unpublished from TikTok. Solve the daily Crossword

The Hills alum Lo Bosworth in double joy as she gets married and pregnant

Lo Bosworth is married and expecting her first child with Dom Natale. The Hills alum has revealed the couple tied the knot at her family's home in Laguna Beach, California on July 20, while they are also due to become parents in January. Sharing pictures from their special day on Instagram on Monday (28.07.25), Lo penned: "We said yes with joy. And life, with its most tender timing, said yes right back." The 38-year-old actress admitted the couple considered a lavish "New York City wedding", but when she started trying for a baby, they felt it was best to plan an "intimate" ceremony. In an interview with People, Lo said: "We wanted our wedding to meet the moment of where we're at right now. "I'm about four months pregnant, and before starting our fertility journey, we thought about a big, New York City wedding. Once our family plans got underway, however, we changed course to something we knew would be perfect if I was lucky enough to get pregnant: an intimate wedding with our closest family members enjoyed at home. We could take off our shoes, stretch out, enjoy great food and the beautiful décor, and relax." The couple's child is due two years after they got engaged in January 2024. Alongside a black-and-white snap of the couple embracing and flashing her gigantic diamond ring, she wrote on Instagram at the time: 'For you, my darling, it could only be a 'yes.' 'Thank you for being the best that one could be, for me. 'All my love, L.' It was not clear how long the pair had been dating before investor Dom got down on one knee. Lo previously dated her Hills co-star Scott Hochstadt for two years between 2009 and 2011. She was later linked to Shark Tank contestant Jimmy DeCicco, with the pair last seen together in 2020. The Laguna Beach star moved away from reality television in 2010 to lead a private life. Speaking on Bethenny Frankel's Just B podcast, she previously reflected on having her life play out on screen: "I served a very specific role, which I'm actually grateful for in hindsight. I didn't have to get into it too much. "But in the areas where I did, it still kind of haunts me to this day, because there's so many stories behind this story everybody saw on television that run very counter to what the public thinks of you." She now runs the Love Wellness brand, which she founded in 2016.

Ric Flair Slams Recent Promo Targeting Charlotte, ‘It Was Hurtful'

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - JULY 29: Ric Flair speaks onstage at The Roast of Ric Flair at Nashville ... More Fairgrounds on July 29, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by) Ric Flair is still a live wire with an open mic. The 76-year-old legend was a guest on Ariel Helwani's show on Monday and he was asked about a number of recent topics, not least of which was about the death of his contemporary and fellow wrestling icon Hulk Hogan. Helwani also asked Flair how he felt about his daughter Charlotte's current storyline with Alexa Bliss. Flair said he thinks 'it's the best part of the show.' Helwani also made mention of a recent promo from current women's WWE champion Tiffany Stratton that strayed into a very personal area. 'You know what? I'm embarrassed for her…,' Flair said. 'I'm not gonna say anymore because I don't want it to affect anything, but that was the cheapest s**t I've ever heard in my life.' Helwani said he didn't know if it was a shoot or a work. 'Well, whatever it was (whether it was a work or a shoot), it was hurtful,' Flair said. "If it was a shoot, that's even worse, because that's nothing to joke about.' In case you missed it, Flair is referring to the promo from the April 4 episode of SmackDown ahead of Charlotte and Stratton's championship match at WrestleMania. Stratton made comments about Charlotte Flair being alone and having an 0-3 record outside of the ring. That was a shot at Charlotte's three marriages and subsequent divorces. Yeah, it was pretty nasty, and Charlotte looked visibly and legitimately bothered. She even fired back, "Is that why Kaiser is in my DMs?" That was a reference to Ludwig Kaiser, Stratton's real-life boyfriend. Here is a look at the segment. We've seen promos flow into some uncomfortable places over the years, but this was one of the cringiest spots I can recall. I can imagine Ric wouldn't have appreciated his daughter's business being referenced that way. The two went on to have a strong match at WrestleMania, and Charlotte has rebounded well. As Flair and Helwani mentioned in their interview, the current program that has Flair and Alexa Bliss chasing the WWE Women's Tag Team titles is strong. Charlotte is as over with the crowd as she's been her entire career, and most importantly, she seems happy. Stratton is an outstanding performer, and at 26, she is one of the brightest stars in WWE. In 10 years, it will be interesting to see if she regrets taking that promo to a forbidden place, or if there are other things behind the scenes that led to the ether. As it is, Stratton is still the WWE Women's Champion, and both women are thriving in their current roles.
