Student slashed by ex-boyfriend still unable to give statement
Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed this when asked for an update on the case today.
"The victim is still unable to provide her statement," he said when contacted today.
Yesterday, police recorded statements from 12 people, as part of the investigation into the stabbing of a female student at a private higher learning institution on Monday.
Wan Azlan said the 12 comprised the staff members, victim's friends and witnesses.
He also said that the victim is stable.
Police said the 21-year-old suspect, who is also a student at the same university, has been remanded for four days until July 18 to assist in investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon or dangerous object.
In the 6.30pm incident on Monday, the suspect allegedly attacked his 20-year-old former girlfriend with a knife, causing injuries to the left side of her neck.

However, Comm Kumar said the police found inconsistencies in the suspect's recorded statements and re-arrested him. 'Investigations led us to the discovery of the boy's remains in Jempol, Negri Sembilan.' The suspect was then handed over to the Negri Sembilan police for further investigation. Tishant was reported missing in Taman Bukit Indah here on July 24 and four days later, his body was discovered buried in Rompin, Jempol. On July 29, strangulation was identified as the child's cause of death. On a separate matter, Comm Kumar said a 31-year-old Vietnamese woman who had been storing and distributing drugs from two apartment units over the past five months was arrested, with over RM4.9mil worth of drug-related substances seized. He added the suspect, believed to be part of a drug syndicate, had disguised the drugs in coffee and juice sachets. 'The operation was uncovered after two raids on July 25 and 26 at two units in the same gated apartment complex,' he said. 'She is believed to have used one unit as her residence and storage space, and the other for repackaging the drugs.' Each drug-laced drink sachet was sold for around RM250, he added. Comm Kumar said police seized 29.2kg of ecstasy powder, 131gm of ecstasy pills, and 20gm of ketamine, which was enough to supply more than 97,000 drug users. Police also confiscated drug- processing equipment, jewellery, RM3,000 cash, and S$193 (RM638). Comm Kumar said that police are seeking Terrence Ki Kek Ding, 35, to help in the investigation.

Five foreigners nabbed for allegedly robbing 'hypnotised' tourists in Penang
GEORGE TOWN: Police have arrested five Middle Eastern nationals in its investigation into the theft of money from several foreign tourists who were allegedly hypnotised (pukau) in the city centre here. Penang acting police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said three men and two women, including a married couple, all aged from 19 to 35, were detained at the Gurney Plaza area under Ops Tourist. "Between July 30 and Aug 1, we received three reports of cash thefts involving tourists from Taiwan, the Netherlands and Syria, aged from 29 to 52, in the Pulau Tikus and Jalan Penang areas. "A team from the Timur Laut criminal investigation division as well as the Pulau Tikus and Central police stations conducted an operation and detained the five Middle Eastern suspects," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 3). He added that police also seized multiple foreign currencies, two vehicles, and a packet of ganja. Mohd Alwi said preliminary urine tests revealed that two of the suspects tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). He said the group's modus operandi was to approach foreign tourists for a conversation before asking them to reveal the cash in their possession. "The suspects will then take the money and leave the scene. It is reported that victims only realise their money is gone after the suspects leave," he said. He said all the suspects have been remanded for four days until Aug 6 and the case is being investigated under sections 379 and 380 of the Penal Code and sections 6 and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
