WITH our wedding less than a year and a half away, my fiancé Ryan and I decided to take a break from all the stressful planning and treat ourselves to a quick week in the sun.
However, we didn't for one second imagine we'd be able to enjoy a luxurious, out-of-this-world holiday, not while saving for our honeymoon.

But when we saw the chance to stay at Rixos Radamis for a week — a five-star, all-inclusive hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh that looks more like a grand Egyptian palace than a resort — we jumped at it.
Imagine everything your dream holiday could have, and then times it by a thousand, and you might just come close to what this incredible resort has to offer.
In fact, calling it a 'resort' doesn't do it justice. It's more of a magnificent little island all on its own, tucked away inside the Nabq Bay area of this popular Red Sea destination.
Once inside its hallowed walls, it was easy to forget the rest of the world actually existed.
The second we arrived, we knew we were in for something special.
From the outside, everything exuded luxury, and inside the massive lobby with its marble floors and gold chandeliers, we knew that we were where the other half holiday.
Rixos has five hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh, but I would struggle to believe anyone who didn't agree that the Radamis tops them all.
It's split into three large areas, first, there's Tirana, which is perfect for families with children, with its brightly coloured themed rooms.
Then there's the Blue Planet section, which more caters to couples and adult groups.
And finally, there is the brand new Beach area, which is where we stayed. In fact, it's so new, it was blissfully and peacefully quiet. But I doubt it will stay that way for long!
Mystery new 'city' found underneath Egypt's Pyramids stretching 6,500ft BELOW surface in shock discovery, scientists say
After a long day of travelling, we just wanted to get straight to our room, have a sleep and wake up ready for a week of bliss.
Talking of which, the room was MASSIVE! It had a super comfy, king-size bed and a huge bathroom with a walk-in style shower and two large sinks, so no more fighting when getting ready at night.
But it was the huge balcony that overlooked the beach and sea that stole my heart.

The grounds leading down to the stunning beach
They weren't joking when they called it the 'beach' area — the golden sand and crystal blue waters really were the star of the show. Directly below us was the pool, and over to the left we could see the Red Sea stretch for miles.
The next morning we woke up super excited to start our holiday proper.
There was so much to explore in the resort with three pools, 15 restaurants, five bars and three lounges. And being all-inclusive, you needn't worry about any huge bills to shock you on checkout.
Although it was impossible to sample everything in just seven days, we sure gave it our best shot!
We both love our grub, so we headed to the People's restaurant on the beach to grab some lunch from the buffet and loved it so much we went back every single day!
After satisfying our hunger, we had a quick tour of the place in a little buggy, which left our heads spinning. The place is huge.
To give you an idea, to get from our room to the main Blue Planet area, we had to get a bus!
But after lying at the pool all afternoon and changing quickly into our glam evening outfits, we found that the buses arrived every few minutes, and before we knew it, we were in the heart of the action.
I've never been someone who is all that keen on hotel entertainment, but Rixos Radamis takes theirs to a whole new level!
There's a massive stadium in the middle of the resort where we were treated to an incredible Madonna show, where talented dancers recreated the pop sensation's music videos as we sipped delicious cocktails well into the night.
Music is a huge part of Rixos Radamis, and workers have actually just finished building a new second arena that fits 6,000 people right in time for superstar Enrique Iglesias, who performed on May 3.

And global music star Jennifer Lopez is set to perform at the hotel in July

And it will definitely be full when Jennifer Lopez comes to perform on July 4 — I told you this is where the rich and famous holiday.
For most of the week, we enjoyed nights of dancing and drinking, before heading back to our room to enjoy some of the best sleeps we've ever had abroad.
Days were spent either relaxing at the glorious pool or on the gorgeous beach, topping up our tan and sipping drinks.
And whenever we weren't watching a show in the evening, we were in the hotel's lively and friendly Irish Bar where Ryan watched some football matches and I sipped even more delicious cocktails.
But the one thing that was even more delicious than the drinks was the mouth-watering food.
My, oh my, every single meal we had was absolutely divine.
Every restaurant offers five-star service. We were particularly fond of our dinners at the Mexican restaurant Cactus and Rasam, which serves Indian cuisine.
GO: SHARM EL-SHEIKH
GETTING/STAYING THERE: A week all-inclusive at the 5H Rixos Radamis is from £1,378pp leaving Glasgow on June 12. See tui.co.uk.

But the one that topped the lot was The Mangal, which offers a very special culinary experience.
Here we feasted on incredible BBQ food served by our own private chef as we watched the sun set over the beach. Life just doesn't get any better.
There are so many highlights from our time in Rixos Radamis that it's hard to list them all, but what I will say is make sure you book a Cabana with a jacuzzi for a special treat.
We had one glorious day in one, where we were served cocktails by the amazing staff as we looked out at the sea from our jacuzzi under the scorching sunshine — absolute heaven.

The soon-to-be-weds enjoyed a romantic gondola ride along the resort's lagoon

And one standout memory just has to be our incredible gondola ride.
That's right, there's a gondola that glides up a gorgeous river-like lagoon in the middle of the 'Beach' section, surrounded by hanging twinkling lights while you are serenaded with beautiful, soft harp music.
It was one of the most romantic experiences of my life, and I'll carry that moment with me forever.
Our holiday to Rixos Radamis was one of the best of our lives — it had everything we could dream of and more.
If our honeymoon is half as special, spectacular and unforgettable, I will be over the moon.

Countryfile star reveals UK's best hidden gems from stunning vineyards that beat France to the pretty secret beaches
He also reveals the best way to spot secret coves on the Antrim coastline BRITISH GEM Countryfile star reveals UK's best hidden gems from stunning vineyards that beat France to the pretty secret beaches Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MATT Baker has unearthed undiscovered gems on his journey around the British Isles. For his new TV series, Matt Baker's British Isles, the Countryfile star finds beautiful beaches on the Northern Irish coastline and reveals he's found tasty sparkling wine at a Champagne-worthy vineyard in Kent. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 6 Matt says he's found sparkling wine to rival French Champagne Credit: More4 6 The Domaine Evremond vineyard produces English wine Credit: More4 On his journey across the UK to see what makes the country tick, Matt heads to the Domaine Evremond vineyard. The Taittinger family, who own the vineyard, have teamed up with one of the world's most prestigious champagne houses to realise a dream of making the first true Anglo-French sparkling wine - and it worked. When Sun Travel asked Matt whether it tasted similar to Champagne he responded: "It's the same. The only reason you can't call it Champagne is because it's not grown in the Champagne region. "It's so good, I'd go as far as saying it was the most beautiful sparkling wine that I've ever tasted. "It has its roots, literally, in Britain, but it's got that taste that is so familiar with high-end sparkling wine, and it's grown right here in Kent." The reason Kent is renowned for its English vineyards is the climate and soil, which are well-suited for growing grapes that produce high-quality wine. Matt explained that Domaine Evremond has all the same qualities as vineyards in the Champagne region The vineyard produces a sparkling wine called Classic Cuvée, which is made in a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier grapes. You can go to the vineyard yourself and book a tasting and follow in Matt's footsteps by taking a tour from just £25. During the four-episode series, Matt heads over to Wales, up to Scotland, but one of his most memorable stops was in Northern Ireland. Countryfile star bags brand new role worlds away from hit BBC farming series 6 The Antrim coastline is best viewed on horseback according to Matt Credit: More4 Matt goes up to Northern Ireland's most northerly tip to meet the McKinley family, where for generations, they've run Sheans Horse Farm. It's based in the hills of North Antrim which has incredible views across the coastline. Matt told us: "Oh my gosh, the Antrim coast is just breathtaking. "The landscape is used for Game of Thrones now, that's filmed over there because the landscape is so jaw-dropping. "We went horse riding across the cliff tops. When you look down, you see all these beautiful little coves that you wouldn't even know were there." He added: "It's such a beautiful way to travel, on horseback, especially if you want to do a bit of nature spotting because all the wildlife comes out to see what's going on." 6 The Antrim coast has some beautiful beaches Credit: Alamy 6 Matt also ventures to Kilkeel Harbour to have fish and chips Credit: More4 Stand-out beaches on the Antrim coast are the sandy shores of Benone Strand and Portrush's East and West Strands. There's also others, like White Park Bay and Ballycastle Beach. Another area of the Northern Irish coastline that Matt explores is Kilkeel Harbour where he met the country's only female harbourmaster - and enjoyed the landscape too. Matt said: "It's a big, beautiful, wonderful, welcoming community, and when I went it was a beautiful day. "We sat there sitting having fish and chips there and just being chatting with the locals - it was great." For anyone wanting to see parts of the British Isles they wouldn't usually get a look at, Matt has everyone covered. He added: "I really love where we live in Britain with the four nations that we've got, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, England. "We visit all of those nations throughout the episodes - we've amalgamated it all into the ultimate celebration of the British Isles." For any British Isles adventurers, here are five islands off the coast of the UK that you can visit without needing your passport. And the British Isle that gets summer weather before the mainland. Popular NC500 stop with restaurant & beer garden announces shock closure
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A POPULAR North Coast 500 stop, featuring a restaurant and beer garden, has announced its shock closure. The Meikle Ferry Station Restaurant and Gift Shop, located near the Dornoch Bridge close to the A9, is set to shut its doors for good on Saturday, 21st June. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 The venue has a beer garden as well as 60-seater restaurant Credit: Facebook 4 The firm made the announcement on Facebook that it will close in two weeks Credit: Facebook Situated between Tain and Dornoch, the iconic venue was once a train station between 1864 and 1869, during the Victorian era. It has been a favourite for travellers seeking a break during the renowned road trip across the north of Scotland. However, the owners have cited both "economic and personal" reasons for their decision to cease trading imminently. The current proprietors of the 60-seater restaurant expressed their disappointment at the outcome, describing it as "extremely disheartening." While the restaurant and gift shop will close, the accommodation and taxi hire services run by the business will remain operational as the owners search for the "right people" to take over the restaurant specialising in "Scottish fare." In a heartfelt announcement, they stated: 'It is with heavy hearts that we announce that we will be closing Meikle Ferry Station Restaurant and Gift Shop for day-to-day operations on Saturday, 21st June. 'This decision has been made due to a combination of both economic and personal reasons. 'We are extremely disappointed to be taking this step, especially after the efforts made by everyone involved in the business. 'We look back with pride on all that has been achieved. 'We will continue to operate our accommodation and private hire taxi service while we search for the right people to bring a new era to Meikle Ferry Station. The North Coast 500: Scotland's Must-Visit Road Trip Beats the Grand Canyon 'Hopefully, we will see many of you before we close the doors on the 21st.' The business is expected to be put on the market at a later date. Disappointed customers took to the Meikle Ferry Facebook page to share their sadness over the news. One wrote: "Awww, so sorry to hear this news. Our favourite food stop—good luck for the future. You will be missed." Another commented: "I am so sorry to read this. Our thoughts are with you all. "I hope you find the right person or people to continue to build on the wonderful business you've created." A third said: "Such sad news to hear. We only found you last year, as we like to support local businesses when we're on holiday. "Such a wonderful place run by lovely people, and the food was really nice. I wish you all the very best for the future!" And a fourth added: "Awe, so sorry to hear that you are closing. You will be missed. "The staff have been brilliant, always friendly with a smile and a chat. Sending you best wishes for the future xx." 4 It was a popular stop on the iconic road trip Credit: Getty
