Nathan Aspinall wins in Aberdeen as Luke Littler secures spot as top seed
Aspinall – who coasted past Stephen Bunting 6-1 in the semi-finals – built on a couple of early breaks over Dobey to establish a solid lead.
After Dobey, who knocked Littler out to reach the final, lost his throw again in the sixth leg, he then missed two more darts at a double in the next as Aspinall came back to land double 10.

Aspinall's victory leaves him four points clear in fourth spot, eliminating Dobey, while Michael van Gerwen would need to win the final night in Sheffield to overhaul him.
'I felt very confident coming into tonight, I bottled it last week but tonight is a new night,' Aspinall said on Sky Sports.
'I've not played amazing tonight, but I have been composed. I've not celebrated, I've stayed in the moment and my finishing has been bang on.'

Littler had earlier fought back to beat world number one Luke Humphries in their quarter-final to make sure of top seeding in London.
Dobey, though, then produced another impressive display to lead the world champion 3-1 and 4-2 in their semi-final.
While Littler again produced a late rally to force a last-leg decider, he missed double six for the match, leaving Dobey to take out 32.
Littler's 6-3 quarter-final comeback win over Humphries was a high-quality affair.

World number one Humphries had ended his 10-week wait for a Premier League nightly victory by edging out Littler in a last-leg decider in Leeds, and opened up in fine style with an early break to lead 2-0 then 3-1.
Littler, though, came roaring back to win five legs on the bounce, finishing with a match average of almost 116 while Humphries hit nine maximums in defeat, averaging 110.
Price had produced a nine-dart finish in his quarter-final defeat to Bunting.

Welshman Price, already secure of a play-off spot, landed the perfect leg to reduce the deficit to 5-4.
It was a second nine-dart finish for Price in this year's tournament, which has one more nightly event in Sheffield ahead of the play-offs at London's O2 on May 29.
Having lost his opening eight games, former Masters champion Bunting was already out of contention to progress, but closed out a 6-4 victory over Price to make it through to the semi-finals.
In the opening match at the P&J Live, Aspinall built on a fast start to see off Van Gerwen 6-3 and boost his own play-off hopes.
Dobey landed five 180s and averaged 107 in a 6-2 victory over former world champion Rob Cross, who can now no longer reach the top four.

Brendan Rodgers makes Champions League progress the short-term target for Celtic
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is confident his squad is strong enough to qualify for the Champions League - but he knows they would need to strengthen if they got there. Rodgers was not anticipating any late amendments to his European squad ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline on the eve of their play-off first leg against Kairat Almaty at Parkhead. The Northern Irishman previously stressed he was in need of attacking reinforcements following the departures of Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicolas Kuhn this year and a long-term injury for Jota. But it has been two weeks since their most recent arrival, 19-year-old Manchester City loan defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, and Rodgers was focused on getting past the Kazakh opposition with familiar players. When asked if his squad was strong enough for the Champions League, he said: "Firstly we want to qualify of course and, if it's with this group of players, I'm confident that we can do that. Going forward, it's clear we would have to improve the squad." Rodgers was then asked if he would get the additions he was looking for when the board discover whether they have Champions League income. "I don't know," he said. "I don't know. We just play the game and we'll see where we're at at the end of the window." The 52-year-old has been keen to play down transfer talk in recent weeks after making his feelings clear earlier in the summer. "I'm not going to get into a situation where I look frustrated or am frustrated because that transfers on to the players that I have, and those guys have been brilliant. "If we get somebody in, great. If not, then we'll go with what we've got. We'll do everything we can to try and ensure all the details are right for the game and see if we can take Celtic back into the Champions League again. "I've had no injuries and I believe that the quality of our game and the intensity that we want to work at can hopefully be enough to see us through. But these games will always be tough games." Reports on Monday claimed that 38-year-old striker Jamie Vardy had his heart set on a move to Celtic Park after leaving Leicester. But Rodgers said: "Listen, I would not speak about any individual player. Of course I worked really well with Jamie, he was brilliant for me in my time at Leicester. But there's been so many names floated about. I wouldn't disclose either way."

In arguing why their sales have not been as big as their rivals, boss Mikel Arteta can point to several factors. When he first took over in December 2019, he inherited a bloated squad full of ageing stars on big wages, forcing the club to take action by accepting the financial hit, ripping up contracts for free transfers to welcome younger, hungrier, more cost-effective players in their bold and risky recruitment strategy in a desperate attempt to fix the culture at the club. In an ideal world, they would have earned some money back on the departures of big hitters Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, David Luiz and Alexandre Lacazette, instead of allowing them to leave for nothing. And as a result of this, young academy stars like Saka, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Nketiah and Balogun were relied on and trusted in the first team far more than the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea – who have made a habit of selling their homegrown talents for big profits, able to do so because of the size and quality of their squads. This summer alone, Reds teenager Ben Doak has joined Bournemouth in a deal worth up to £25m and Jarell Quansah left for Bayer Leverkusen in a move worth £35m including add-ons, and who can forget Raheem Sterling leaving for City in 2015 for around £50m. Arteta's squad now looks complete with an impressively impactful bench to match the starting XI, yet that was not always the case, hence why ineffective squad players have previously been held on to instead of sold. Arsenal currently have big names in their squad that could be sold for big profits. William Saliba is wanted by Real Madrid. Gabriel was approached by the Saudi giants. Advertisement Teenage starlets Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly were monitored before signing new bumper deals, while Max Dowman's worth is only rising despite being just 15. In their bid to finally end their 21-year wait for a Prem title, Arteta and Arsenal are in no position to cash in on their most prized assets just yet.
