Yahoo17-07-2025
Sassuolo are reportedly ready to try and hijack the move by Club Brugge for Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic.
This according to Belgian outlet Voetbal24, via FCInter1908. They report that Brugge are worried that if the move stalls too far, then Sassuolo will take their chance.
Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic spent last season on loan with Swiss club Luzern.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding campaign. So much so that he has even been tipped to win the midfielder of the year award for the Swiss Super League.
Luzern had a purchase option on Aleksandar Stankovic. They can sign the Serb on a permanent basis for a fee of €1.5 million.
However, Inter in turn had a buyback clause, and can bring Stankovic back immediately.
Sassuolo Rival Club Brugge For Aleksandar Stankovic
Belgian giants Club Brugge have reportedly come to the head of the queue to sign Stankovic this summer.
The Belgians have spent the past few weeks pursuing the young Serb.
Reports indicate that the two clubs have come close to an agreement. They have agreed on a €10 million fee or so.
However, the talks continue to drag on, reportedly over disagreements regarding a buyback option for Inter.
And according to Voetbal24, Brugge are worried that they could miss out.
The Belgian outlet report that Sassuolo, above all, are keen to hijack to deal for Stankovic.
The Neroverdi are back in Serie A after a season away. And they see the Serb as a target to bolster their squad for the top flight after their promotion last season.

Peterborough Continues To Add Veteran Pieces; Acquiring Lucas Karmiris From Brampton

The OHL's summer trade freeze is officially over, and the Peterborough Petes are the first team to make a splash. On Tuesday, the Petes organization announced that they have acquired forward Lucas Karmiris from the Brampton Steelheads, in exchange for goaltender Zach Bowen, a 2026 second-round pick (Owen Sound's), a conditional 2027 third-round pick, and a 2029 fourth-round pick. Karmiris, 18, recorded 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) in 40 regular season games and was held without a point in six playoff games during the 2024-25 season. He missed time due to injuries, which ultimately affected his draft stock for the recent NHL draft. The former 13th overall pick from the 2022 OHL Priority Selection sadly didn't hear his name called this past June. But mark his name down as a player to watch who will be re-entering the draft in 2026. A right-shot center who plays a strong 200-foot game, is reliable in defensive situations, and has smart puck management can find a career at the professional level. Yes, Karmiris needs to elevate and become more of a driver offensively, but his defensive value ranks high. Bowen, 20, is set to return for his fourth and final season in the OHL as a 2005-born. He held his own in the crease during his two-year tenure with the rebuilding Petes, struggling on some nights, but had to endure an onslaught of shots most nights. Peterborough Petes Recruit Swiss Forward Yanis Lutz For The Upcoming Season The Peterborough Petes have signed a second import player this summer, leaving them with one remaining spot to recruit another European player for the 2025-26 season. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound netminder recorded an 8-22-2-3 record with a 3.95 goals-against-average and a .893 save percentage. In the 37 games he played last year, Bowen faced fewer than 30 shots in a game only four times, not including the two games he was pulled. He faced 30+ shots on 29 occasions, 12 of which eclipsed the 40+ mark. He averaged 35.4 shots against per game, tying Owen Sound's Carter George for the highest average. Brampton got hit hard by the NCAA. Michigan State stole away their captain, Porter Martone, and they've also lost both their goaltenders — Jack Ivankovic to the University of Michigan and Brayden Gillespie to Union College. The Steelheads get a much-needed goalie for the 2025-26 season, and one that will be able to handle a heavy workload if need be, but don't expect the organization to be contending for a championship this season. Peterborough on the other hand is looking to get out from the depths of the trenches. After two consecutive seasons of being a lottery team — one of which saw them land first-overall pick Kaden McGregor — GM Michael Oke has been active in the trade market to bring in some veteran presence. Karmiris joins overage defenseman James Petrovski and overage forward Matthew Soto as newly acquired players to Peterborough. The Petes appear to be heading in the right direction to be a more competitive team. However, they still have not signed their 2025 first-overall pick McGregor, and that should be next on Oke's to-do list before training camps open up later this month. 5 OHL First-Round Draft Picks Remain Unsigned, Including The First Overall Pick Training camps for the OHL are set to begin in about a month. Teams have been actively signing import players over the past two to three weeks. However, several teams have not yet signed their 2025 first-round draft picks, including two players from the top five. Report – Inter Milan Drop All Interest In Juventus & Argentina Winger

Inter Milan are reportedly no longer interested in signing Juventus winger Nicolas Gonzalez despite intense transfer rumors. According to Sky Sport via TWM, the Serie A runners-up have prioritized other targets over the former Fiorentina ace. Nico Gonzalez has emerged as a backup option for Inter's primary pursuit of Atalanta star Ademola Lookman. However, even if Inter's relentless pressure on La Dea fails to come to fruition, they will not chase the Argentine forward. Indeed, they have other options in mind. (Photo by) Gonzalez has been one of several names on Inter's radar. Yet, the list is long and only features players from abroad. Chelsea flop Christopher Nkunku could be a realistic target for the Nerazzurri. Indeed, he has no future at Stamford Bridge and could be available in a cut-price deal. Furthermore, Inter have set their sights on Manchester United outcasts Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho. RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa is also in the mix, although the Italian giants remain focused on signing Lookman.

Report – Two Inter Milan Stars Training Partially With Squad While Italy Midfielder Yet To Resume Training

Yann Bisseck and Piotr Zielinski have reportedly returned to training, while Inter Milan are still waiting for Davide Frattesi to recover fully. According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the injury crisis is dwindling as Inter's pre-season under Cristian Chivu gathers momentum. Chivu couldn't count on numerous first-team players during Inter's 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Indeed, all three aforementioned stars were out with injuries. Furthermore, Hakan Calhanoglu and Benjamin Pavard were not part of the traveling squad. Bisseck & Zielinski Training Partially with Inter Milan Squad, Frattesi Still Working Alone MILAN, ITALY – MARCH 30: Davide Frattesi of FC Internazionale looks on during the warm up prior to the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and Udinese at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on March 30, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) Bisseck and Zielinski have returned to the group at Appiano Gentile. Despite not participating in the entire training session, they have begun working partially with the squad. Therefore, it's reasonable to expect them to regain full fitness soon and be ready for Inter's pre-season friendlies. On the other hand, Frattesi's return may require some additional time. Indeed, the 25-year-old midfielder is still recovering from the abdominal surgery he underwent last month. However, Chivu hopes to have the former Sassuolo man for Inter's final pre-season friendly against Olympiacos.
