Actor Savi Thakur, who plays Rudra in the popular show Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri, shares a powerful message this Anti-Tobacco Day, urging everyone, especially the youth, to rethink what's truly cool.
Sharing his perspective, Savi says, 'Over the years, smoking has wrongly become a symbol of looking 'cool' or 'rebellious,' especially among the youth. I feel this is a dangerous trend, heavily influenced by what people see in films and web series.
While creative freedom is important, we also need to be aware of the impact such visuals can have. I have my reservations about doing smoking scenes unless there is a very strong reason in the story.
Even while playing Rudra in Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri, I'm mindful of the kind of message my character sends out. I believe we, as public figures, have a big responsibility. Our choices influence many, so we must promote healthier lifestyles through our work and voice.
