Elderly woman shot in her bedroom; Danville Police looking for tips
DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Danville Police Department is looking for tips on a shooting that left an elderly woman hospitalized.
Police officers arrived at a house on Moore Street near Fairchild Street Monday evening around 9 p.m. after someone called 911 reporting shots being fired. Officers near the area said they heard around 20 gunshots.

Police found the victim, a 75-year-old woman, 'within seconds' upon arriving. She was getting ready for bed while she was shot in her bedroom, police said. Officers found several high-caliber ammunition casings on-scene.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she is listed as stable with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said they currently have not found any leads nor do they have identified any suspects to the shooting.
'DPD is fortunate to serve in a community that supports each other and its police department,' a news release from the department reads. 'Detectives hope someone saw something or knows something and is willing to contact either the department or Vermilion County Crimestoppers.'

One dead, two hospitalized in Decatur crash
DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A 68-year-old Decatur man was pronounced deceased following the serious injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. Additionally, there were no indications that the driver of the Chevrolet 1500 was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Members of the Fatal Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and are actively investigating the crash. There is no further information available at this time. Man in critical condition following Chesapeake shooting: Police
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Chesapeake Saturday morning, according to the Chesapeake Police Department. Springfield Police searching for tips in Tuesday retail theft
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Springfield Police Department is asking for help identifying two people whom officials accused of retail theft. The theft happened Tuesday at the Ulta Beauty on South Veterans Parkway. Officials did not go into detail about the crime or the value of stolen merchandise, but they did release images of the suspects. One is a Black male who was wearing a navy-blue jacket, a white t-shirt and a blue baseball cap.
