What did Pressley say after Alloa defeat?
The result is a second successive loss against lower-league opposition after a home defeat to Airdrieonians last weekend.
Speaking to BBC Scotland's Chick Young post-match, here's what head coach Pressley had to say:
Clearly not the result you wanted, what about the performance?
"I think I've said we need another five or six in, but the reality is, even with that group of players, we have to perform better than we did today. So I take ownership of that. I take full responsibility around that. We have to go away and work again."
Can you put your finger on it? Is it quality of players? What is the issue?
"The issue is a combination of a number of things. We do need more players in, but as I've said, I don't think we did well enough today with the group of players we had on the pitch. I think choices in possession weren't good. I thought we played too long on too many occasions.
"And also, we have to take greater ownership and responsibility and make things happen. We need players that are going to change games. But listen, that's my responsibility. That's my job to get the confidence in the players, the belief in the players, and that's what I fully intend to do."
Did nervousness come into it?
"Maybe a little bit of nervousness. Maybe that was evident in the second half. But I didn't think we created many good opportunities in the game. Our best opportunities came from set plays, something we have been working hard on.
"I've seen improvements in our defensive principles, but we're still nowhere near where we need to be. And as I've said, I take responsibility for that because I think with the group of players we have out there, we can do much better."
Do you see reason to believe?
"Of course I do. It's very difficult for a number of players. I still look at them from a physical perspective, and they're not at the level we need them at.
"Some of them tired significantly in the second half and we looked a team, at times, lacking in that intensity in the second half. We have to find solutions to that."

Wisconsin football offers another 2027 blue-chip offensive playmaker
Wisconsin football extended an offer to four-star class of 2027 wide receiver Javien Robinson on Tuesday. Despite Robinson's strong ranking, the Badgers are one of the first Power Four programs to join his offer sheet. The other eight schools to offer the wideout thus far are Akron, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, UConn, Duquesne and Sacramento State. 247Sports currently ranks Robinson as the No. 136 overall player in the class of 2027, the No. 20 wide receiver and the No. 6 recruit from the state of Pennsylvania. While the recruiting service has yet to release a prediction for his landing spot, On3/Rivals lists Rutgers as the early favorite at 43.5%. The wide receiver's four-star rating and fringe-top-100 ranking should attract some of the nation's top programs, which could alter that forecast. Wisconsin has been busy on the class of 2027 recruiting trail as of late. It recently took two major swings in offering five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson and four-star tight end Jaxon Dollar. Robinson is added to the program's growing list of blue-chip offers in the class, specifically at an offensive skill position. Wisconsin's class of 2026 still ranks No. 58 nationally with 14 commitments. The group recently took a significant slide after high-three-star defensive back Zachary Taylor flipped to TCU. With the 2026 cycle mostly complete, Luke Fickell and his staff will need to use 2027 to reestablish the program's place as a top-30 recruiting destination. Report – Ex AC Milan Star Could Change Position In Chivu's New System At Inter Milan
Hakan Calhanoglu could be in for a change of position at Inter Milan in the new system of coach Cristian Chivu. Today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, predict that the 31-year-old could shift more to the attacking midfield role from his AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen days. Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is back at Inter Milan. The Turkish international returned to training this week, following what's been a long, heated summer. Transfer rumours linking Calhanoglu and Galatasaray have floated around for many weeks. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce also tried to bring the 31-year-old to Istanbul, according to some reports. But Calhanoglu will in fact be staying at Inter this summer. The player himself confirmed as much. Now, the big question is how Calhanoglu will fit in under new Inter coach Cristian Chivu. Hakan Calhanoglu Could Have Attacking Midfielder Role Under Chivu At Inter MILAN, ITALY – MARCH 11: Hakan Calhanoglu of FC. Internazionale celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and Feyenoord at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on March 11, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) Calhanoglu had been a pivotal player in every sense under Simone Inzaghi at Inter. The former Nerazzurri coach had moved the Turk back from a box-to-box midfield role into the regista position at the base of Inter's midfield trio. However, early signs are that Chivu is not planning to stick to the midfield trio that Inzaghi used. Rather, he could go with a two-man central midfield, and two attacking midfielders behind one striker. Therefore, Calhanoglu will not be useful in the same sort of holding midfield role. On the other hand, the Gazzetta note, Calhanoglu has plenty of experience playing in an attacking midfield role. That is the position that the Turkish international played in for much of his time at Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan. Therefore, Chivu could rely upon Calhanoglu's goalscoring ability and eye for a pass in the final third. And then trust that he is more than capable of tracking back and doing the dirty work when need be. Then, Nicolo Barella would be more of the midfield fulcrum. And players like Davide Frattesi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Piotr Zielinski, and Petar Sucic could have fluid roles between defensive and attacking midfield.

Argyle have 'clicked' after big win
Plymouth Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley feels his side have "clicked" after their 6-0 pre-season win over Torquay United. Xavier Amaechi's goal gave the Pilgrims a 1-0 lead at half-time before the new signing added an excellent second after the break. A Bim Pepple effort plus two goals from Joe Edwards and one from Bali Mumba completed the victory at Argyle's National League South neighbours. "There were four or five really important players missing this evening, but it just shows you we've got some good depth," said Cleverley, who was without the likes of Caleb Watts, Conor Hazard and Julio Pleguezuelo. "We're still working hard to maybe bring a couple more in, but I think tonight was the evening where it clicked. "We should take confidence, but not be complacent. I don't expect 6-0 every game, but it felt a bit more like a normal game for me as a coach and easy to plan for." Amaechi impresses after summer move Amaechi's two goals at Torquay came as many Argyle fans got their first chance to see the winger who moved from German side FC Magdeburg on a three-year deal earlier this summer. The former England youth international has impressed in his short time in pre-season at Home Park as the Pilgrims aim for an immediate return to the Championship after relegation to League One. "I'll always be the type to keep a lid on that, but he's a very intelligent player, athletic but quick," Cleverley told BBC Radio Devon. "The best thing for me as the coach is if you want to double up on the inside on Xavier he can go down the outside as well - he's an incredibly talented footballer. "You saw that with his goals tonight - including the in-house game we had at the weekend that's five goals in pre-season now, including the one behind closed doors. "He's got some good numbers behind him in pre-season and the rest of the lads know it wasn't just about his performance tonight, but it was certainly exciting." Cleverley is still hopeful he can sign another new striker before the start of the season, although it is unlikely any arrival will be available in time for his side's final pre-season game with Bristol City on Saturday. "The club are working really hard to identify, and then to get that move over the line, and of course you need the other club to tango as well," he said. "While I've got my eye on the team and the tactics, part of my role is to help with the recruitment side of it now and it's a position I think Owen (Oseni) and Bim (Pepple) have come in and done excellent in pre-season, but we need one more. "It's a significant deal that we're trying to do. I always say when pen goes to paper these things are done and we are working hard to get them."
