The best linen trousers on the high street are just £47 – and they sell out every summer
I don't know about you, but when the mercury starts rising, the last thing I want to do is wear anything remotely restrictive – especially not in a heatwave. I look for easy, breezy staples to throw on and help me look stylish no matter what my day involves, be it a stint in the office or a picnic in the park. On a sun, sea and sand holiday, this need intensifies, and chic comfort reigns supreme. Enter linen trousers – the one hero piece I really do live in every summer – and in particular, Arket's bestselling pair.
H&M's sophisticated sister brand has long been my go-to for linen, but its the straight-leg striped trousers that sell out every year without fail. Priced at just £47, they come in either black and off-white stripes (my favourite as they go with everything), or blue and white. There's a block beige pair and a thicker pink striped style too. Predictably, some sizes are already flying off the shelves (again), but there's still stock left at the time of writing, so snap yours up before they all go.
What I love about Arket's linen trousers is how versatile they are, making them a key component of any hard-working capsule wardrobe. The elasticated drawstring makes them easy to pull on and off, and there are side pockets for stashing your essentials when popping to the shops.
Though obviously relaxed in style, these do-it-all trousers can easily be elevated with a crisp white shirt or lacy blouse, and they go with all shoes from sandals to trainers. Or, on holiday, you can just tug them on over a swimsuit for a beach bar lunch.
Other high-street linen trousers we love? Marks & Spencer stocks a very affordable range priced at just £27.50. Or, try Boden's ever-popular Westbourne style in 11 different colours and patterns. COS never fails us either, particularly for neutral trousers that feel smart enough for work. It's these Arket pairs we always turn to, though...£47.00 at arket.com£28.20 at arket.com£47.00 at arket.com
Expect to see these Arket linen trousers everywhere this summer, just like every year... and with very good reason! In need of some more styling tips? We love how stylist and former personal shopper Emily J. Bull has been wearing hers...

Since then, the brand has gradually refined the style into a sleek wardrobe staple that embodies quiet luxury. By the Spring/Summer 2025 season, thong sandals and flip-flop inspired summer shoes fully cemented their status across the fashion month runways — from Alaïa to Sportmax and beyond. Hyde Park's Forbici in legal battle as neighbors react to changes in Village
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A popular Hyde Park restaurant is facing possible eviction, and the legal fight is drawing attention to broader concerns about the future of the neighborhood. Court records obtained by 8 On Your Side show the landlord for Hyde Park Village filed a lawsuit against the operators of Forbici Modern Italian, citing multiple lease violations specifically exceeding seating limits and expanding without the proper permits. 'M*A*S*H' actress Loretta Swit dies at 87 The lawsuit claims the owners, listed under the corporate name CRG, were restricted to 159 guests total, including just 40 seats outside. According to the complaint, the restaurant added tables without approval from the City of Tampa. But the legal battle has also stirred emotions among residents and business owners who said the dispute reflects a bigger shift in the identity of Hyde Park. 'I think one of the challenges is there's been a change to a little bit more upscale shopping, which affects the family atmosphere,' said Patrick Chimino, Land Use Chair of the Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood Association. Many neighbors said they've watched some of their favorite spots disappear replaced by luxury brands and higher prices. 'Some of my favorite places are gone,' resident Eboni Staton said. 'Most of the other places are kind of expensive, so we come here as a treat.' Despite the changes, some businesses in the Village say they're thriving. 'Our jewelry sales have never been better,' said Eric Wolf, General Manager of Old Northeast Jewelers. 'With gold prices up and a strong demand for vintage timepieces, we're having one of our best years yet.' Still, many in the community hope a compromise can be reached. 'We do hope they do because I think they're one of those in-between type restaurant … family oriented, but it also attracts young crowds,' Chimino said. A spokesperson for Forbici told 8 on your side they are working on an agreement with the landlord. The restaurant remains open, and no court date has been set for the eviction case.
