Birmingham native Kim Scott to release album Feb. 28
The nine-song album will feature seven songs Scott wrote, along with production by Grammy winners Paul Brown and Kelvin Wooten.
Alabama, Auburn to play first game between No. 1 and No. 2 in SEC history
'For this album, I didn't want it to sound like the music playing on jazz radio right now because I wanted it to stand out as truly something unique and special,' Scott said in a statement. 'I want my music to stop people in their tracks when it comes on and be intrigued, captivated, inspired, and willing to lean in a little more to take it all in. On 'Livin' It Up,' I took more liberty to write songs that embraced world music in terms of rhythms, vibes, and styles. On the album, you'll hear energetic and rich South African rhythms and harmonies, which is quite new for me.'
The album will feature the following songs:
'Like Butter'
'Magic City Streets'
'Alma de Lisbon'
'Every Breath You Take'
'Freedom'
'I Will Always Love You'
'So What If I Rise?'
'Love Thy Neighbor'
'You Got The Power (Ladies' Anthem)'

How to watch last 20 minutes of Taylor Swift on New Heights after glitch
Wednesday night's New Heights episode with Taylor Swift went almost perfectly. Jason Kelce was a phenomenal host, and it was clear why Swift wanted to do her first interview in ages with Jason and her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The trio covered a litany of topics, ranging from Travis and Taylor's relationship to football to sourdough bread to her family. They, of course, discussed Swift's new album at length as the 14-time Grammy winner announced the title (The Life Of A Showgirl), release date (October 3) and cover art on the podcast. Although things seemed to be wrapping up at the hour and 44 minute mark, the stream abruptly cut off without a real sign-off. It was quickly discovered that there was a technical issue of some sort, with about 20 minutes of the episode unseen. The New Heights folks -- shoutout to producers Brandon and Jake -- immediately got to work trying to fix the issue while not having people lose their place in the episode (or lose the views to that point). It has to be said that the ability of YouTube and their servers to host a million viewers with no initial delays or crashes. The late-episode drop-off was inconvenient, but at least we had been gifted nearly two hours of in-depth Taylor discussion at that point. If you haven't yet seen the last 20 minutes, the link to pick up where the glitch occurred is now available. Overall, a well-done endeavor by everyone involved.

Taylor Swift Reveal How Her Easter Eggs Work
Taylor Swift's countdown to The Life of a Showgirl was full of easter eggs, which apparently she's been planting for years and we never even noticed? More on that over here, but the Grammy winner opened up about her process on New Heights. And it's very specific. "I have parameters," she said. "There's dos and donts. I don't do an Easter egg that ties to my personal life. It points to my music…it's something you don't know why I'm saying for a specific reason, but then you'll look back and go 'oh my god.'" Tay went on to give an example: her NYU honorary doctorate speech. "My favorite one of those was when I was giving an honorary doctorate from NYU and I made the commencement speech," she said. "And I put so many lyrical easter eggs in that speech that when the Midnights album came out after that, the fans were like 'The whole speech was an easter egg.' And that for me is really fun because they find it fun. I love numerology, I love math stuff, I love dates, that stuff I find really fun." Tay also chatted to Entertainment Weekly a few years back about how she thinks up Easter eggs, saying "I think the best messages are cryptic ones. Easter eggs can be left on clothing or jewelry. This is one of my favorite ways to do this because you wear something that foreshadows something else, and people don't usually find out this one immediately, but they know you're probably sending a message. They'll figure it out in time. Lots of examples of this exist through the history of my career."

Jason Kelce earned well-deserved love for Taylor Swift interview
The podcast of the year took place on Wednesday night as Taylor Swift appeared on New Heights for the most in-depth interview the singer has conducted in years. It was clear that the 14-time Grammy winner chose this outlet for this particular interview because she felt comfortable with the hosts and the format. Swift has been dating Travis Kelce for two years, and it was Kelce's podcast with his brother, Jason, that jumpstarted their relationship. The two hour episode amassed over 8.6 million views in just 12 hours of it being live, and the interview covers everything from Travis and Taylor's relationship, her new love for football, her obsession with baking bread, her family's health and -- of course -- Swift's new album. While the announcement of Swift's 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, was the driving topic for the interview, it wasn't the lone discussion item. Throughout the entire flow of the episode, Jason Kelce served as an incredible host. The former Philadelphia Eagle asked thoughtful questions, seamlessly flowing between topics and hitting on questions that Swifties have been dying to ask for years. Jason and Taylor have an obvious camaraderie, and the friendship between the two made it all more relaxed. It felt more like viewers were grabbing a beer with their pals than watching an interview. Viewers online were appreciative of Jason's hosting skills, sending lots of compliments his way. Do you think the Super Bowl winning center ever would have assumed he would be compared to Barbara Walters? Add it to the resume.
