The strongman made history as he became the first contestant from Africa to win in his first year.
The South African maintained his supremacy in the final after winning his group in the Qualifying Stage.
Nel prevailed in the Knaack Carry & Hoist as he finished first in the division.
He also finished second in the 18th Max Deadlift and Hercules Hold.
Nel snatched third place in the Atlas Stone and finished fifth in the Flintstone Press Max.
His performance led to immense praise from fans worldwide on social media.

World Rugby announce seismic change to rankings as world order ripped up South Africa were stunned by the Wallabies in their opening Rugby Championship match on Saturday and it's had a big impact on the World Rugby rankings table The Springboks were stunned by Australia in Johannesburg South Africa have been dethroned as the highest-ranked team in world rugby, with their shock defeat to Australia seeing them fall in the latest global rankings. Rassie Erasmus' side were stunned by the Wallabies in their opening Rugby Championship match at Ellis Park on Saturday, having raced into a commanding 22-0 lead in the opening quarter. Despite looking in full control of the contest at that point, however, the Springboks fell apart as the visitors scored an unanswered 38 points to seal a shock win, their first on South African soil in 14 years. The shock loss left Erasmus furious as he labelled his side's performance as 'dogs***' in his post-match press conference, while captain Siya Kolisi apologised to fans for what he described as an "unacceptable" display. However, not only does the result put a dent in the Springboks' hopes of winning a second successive Rugby Championship title, it has also had repercussions for their global standing, with their nine-month run at the top of the world rankings now over. Erasmus' men have not just fallen to second however, but to third, the first time they have been at that position since the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, which they went on to win. They have been replaced at the top of the table by New Zealand, who become the highest-ranked team in the world for the first time since 2021 having beaten Argentina in their Rugby Championship opener at the weekend. Article continues below There is some distance between the All Blacks and Ireland, who have also leapfrogged the Springboks to move up into second place, with 2.68 ranking points separating them. For context, 2.19 ranking points currently separate Andy Farrell's side and the rest of the global top five. The shock result has also unsurprisingly benefitted Australia's global standing with Schmidt's side moving closer to the top five teams in the world having banked an extra three ranking points. They have moved well clear of Argentina, with the Pumas' loss to the All Blacks seeing them slip further behind the Wallabies after losing points. Of course, the Springboks could well bounce back in the coming weeks and will at least move back up to second if they can get revenge on Australia in the second Test in Cape Town on Saturday. A win could even see them reclaim top spot almost immediately, but that would require Argentina to also beat New Zealand by at least 16 points. After his side moved top of the world rankings by beating the Pumas, All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson admitted the change had caught him by surprise. 'It's actually something we just learned, because you just told us,' he told reporters after the match. 'Look, it shows how tough Test footy is and the margins. "Argentina were great tonight and defended really, really well, and were passionate – just like the Springboks were too. 'A moment, discipline, a card, great play, two or three tries back to back can turn Test matches,' Robertson added. Captain Sophie Hinds hails a ‘buzzing' Waringstown squad after double trophy joy
Batting first, Abbi Harrison raced out of the blocks with a flurry of boundaries, but the hosts fought back thanks to their South African-born Netherlands international Madison Landsman. The leg-spinner bowled a superb four-overs spell, claiming three wickets for just six runs as Waringstown slid from 42 for one to 66 for five. Harrison found a willing ally in teenager Penny Speer and the pair sensibly steered their team towards the hundred mark. Opener Harrison eventually fell for a top score of 44 (six boundaries), but Speer shepherded the tail to what would prove a defendable 120. Alexandra Atkinson also claimed three scalps, while there was one wicket apiece for Erin Bond, Nina Kerr and Lara Maritz. The chase was a tense one in the first 10 overs of the reply with Amy Caulfield striking twice to dismiss Holywood openers Eva Cupitt and overseas player Landsman. Irish international Lara Maritz soon unfurled her powerful repertoire of strokes as she raced to 36 from 22 balls (five fours). However, her dismissal by left-arm spinner Speer proved the turning point. From 68 for two in the 12th over, Holywood lost their last eight wickets for just 22 runs to be all out for 90. Rachel Harrison took four wickets for 11 runs, while Amy Caulfield finished with three for 13 in a superb effort by the Waringstown bowling unit, who have been exceptional all season. 'I was happy when we had put 120 on the board as I knew if our batters were struggling to score on the pitch, it would be the same for Holywood,' said delighted Waringstown captain Sophie Hinds after collecting the Premiership trophy. 'We are all absolutely buzzing having achieved back-to-back doubles. It's some achievement for this group. We have been together for the past two years and our togetherness and consistency as a group has certainly paid dividends. We and all our coaches have worked hard and it's great to have that rewarded with trophies. 'They are great to captain as they always give 100 percent. It's just like playing with your best friends and that togetherness allied with our enjoyment has been key to the success. It's been really great for the club. 'Although we have a lot of young players coming through, we also have a nice balance with some very experienced players like Amy Caulfield, Charlotte Lyons and Naomi Matthews — who I suppose are relatively young but have played an incredible amount of cricket in that time. The youngsters have really benefitted from playing alongside players of their calibre.' Hinds also paid tribute to Penny Speer, with the left-arm spinner being the breakthrough performer for the Champions. 'Penny has been phenomenal with the bowling this year, taking wickets every week with remarkable consistency. She has been a real asset for us and, despite her youth, has shown nerves of steel in pressure situations which is great for a captain to be able to call upon. We were so happy for her today in that as well as her batting she got crucial runs. 'It's been a remarkable season and it's great that it's been a real team effort with everyone chipping in. We were helped by the return of Abbi Harrison from her knee injury, while New Zealander Abigaile Gerken was also a wonderful addition to the squad. They're wonderful to have around with their enthusiasm and dedication.' Waringstown have an opportunity to make it a treble as they are through to the Final of the All-Ireland T20 Cup in two weeks' time when they face a very strong Merrion side who have won the competition twice before. That decider is at Stormont on Sunday, August 31.
