IndianOil to build India's largest green hydrogen plant
In a landmark move to advance India's clean energy ambitions, IndianOil has finalised the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCoH) for setting up a 10,000 Tonnes Per Annum Green Hydrogen Generation Unit at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex. This marks IndianOil's entry into the green hydrogen space with India's largest-ever green hydrogen project to date.
IndianOil will set up India's largest green hydrogen unit (10,000 TPA) at its Panipat refinery, aiming for completion by Dec 2027. The green hydrogen will replace fossil-based hydrogen, cutting carbon emissions. Aligned with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the project supports IndianOil's net zero goal and marks a major step in its decarbonisation roadmap.
Slated for commissioning by December 2027, the Green Hydrogen produced will replace fossil-derived Hydrogen in refinery operations, resulting in substantial reduction in Carbon emissions.
The project is fully aligned with Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision for National Green Hydrogen Mission and stands as a strategic initiative under IndianOil's decarbonization roadmap. It also marks a major milestone in the company's journey towards achieving its Net Zero target, reinforcing IndianOil's leadership in India's sustainable energy future. L&T launches Green hydrogen portal to aware people of clean energy transition
New Delhi [India], June 5 (ANI): On the occasion of World Environment Day, a website, 'Discover Green Hydrogen,' was launched by L&T GreenTech. The website focuses on the global clean energy revolution, providing insights, expert analysis, and real-time updates on the rapidly evolving Green Hydrogen industry. Powered by L&T GreenTech, a key division of L&T Energy's Green & Clean Energy Business, the newly launched website reflects L&T's unwavering commitment to sustainability. This website is designed as a collaborative hub where industry experts, practitioners, analysts, and media professionals can converge, contribute, and stay informed. It offers rich, in-depth content on every aspect of green hydrogen and the broader energy transition, empowering stakeholders with the knowledge needed to drive innovation and investment. Green hydrogen is produced through water electrolysis powered exclusively by renewable energy sources like solar and wind. It offers a truly carbon-free fuel alternative. Unlike traditional hydrogen derived from fossil fuels, it emits no greenhouse gases, making it a powerful tool to tackle climate change and a critical driver of the global energy transition. Earlier, the government of India launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission, a move aimed at accelerating commercial-scale production for domestic consumption and positioning India as a leading exporter of green hydrogen. The mission aims to develop 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) of green hydrogen production capacity annually by 2030--a transformational step towards a sustainable energy future. However, despite its immense potential, the green hydrogen industry remains nascent, with limited in-depth understanding, even among insiders. This knowledge gap highlights the urgent need for a centralised, authoritative platform that provides comprehensive insights, expert analysis, and real-time updates on this rapidly evolving sector. The ' has been created to fill this critical void. As a global energy leader, L&T has set formidable ESG targets: achieving water neutrality by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2040. Through its climate leadership initiatives, L&T aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 300 tonnes annually, impacting both its own operations and those of its clients. Green hydrogen is at the heart of L&T's clean fuel strategy and is indispensable to fulfilling these ambitious carbon and water neutrality goals. embodies this vision, uniting knowledge, innovation, and action to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen and secure a sustainable energy future for India and the world. This website will empower the entire industry by serving as a centralised, trusted platform--providing critical insights, fostering collaboration, and accelerating informed decision-making. It will help stakeholders navigate the complexities of technology, policy, and market dynamics, ultimately driving faster innovation, investment, and large-scale deployment of green hydrogen solutions across sectors. In doing so, will play a vital role in shaping a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape for the industry and society at large. (ANI)

US economic activity declines slightly: Fed Beige Book
US economic activity has declined slightly, with half of the 12 Federal Reserve (Fed) districts reporting slight to moderate decline in activity, three reporting no change and three mentioning slight growth, according to the latest Fed Beige Book, a snapshot of the nation's economy. This report, based on surveys, is published eight times every year. US economic activity has declined slightly, with half of the 12 Federal Reserve districts reporting slight to moderate fall in activity, three reporting no change and three mentioning slight growth, the Beige Book said. All districts reported a rise in economic and policy uncertainty. Manufacturing activity dropped a bit. On balance, the outlook remains slightly pessimistic and uncertain, it said. All districts reported elevated levels of economic and policy uncertainty, which have led to hesitation and a cautious approach to business and household decisions. Manufacturing activity declined slightly. Consumer spending reports were mixed, with most districts reporting slight declines or no change; however, some districts reported increases in spending on items expected to be affected by tariffs, a Fed release said. Contacts generally expected so-far moderate price increases to accelerate, with a few describing the expected cost increases as 'strong, significant or substantial'. Tariffs remained a rising concern, along with uncertainty, impacting in particular prices but also expectations for growth. Activity at ports was robust, while reports on transportation and warehouse activity in other areas were mixed. "On balance, the outlook remains slightly pessimistic and uncertain, unchanged relative to the previous report," according to the document. "There were widespread reports of contacts expecting costs and prices to rise at a faster rate going forward," it noted. Employment has been little changed since the previous such report was released. Most districts described employment as flat, three districts reported slight-to-modest increases, and two reported slight declines. Many districts reported lower employee turnover rates and more applicants for open positions. Comments about uncertainty delaying hiring were widespread. All districts described lower labour demand, citing declining hours worked and overtime, hiring pauses and staff reduction plans. Some districts reported layoffs in certain sectors, but these layoffs were not pervasive. Wages continued to grow at a modest pace, although many districts reported a general easing in wage pressures. A few districts indicated that higher costs of living continued to put upward pressure on wages. Fibre2Fashion News Desk (DS)
