SEATTLE, WA - Continued chances for showers into the weekend. Saturday is likely to be the wetter of the two days this weekend. There is even a chance of some thunder on Saturday with just enough instability which could strengthen a few thunderstorms. Rainfall totals will range from .30-.75".
Temperatures will still be cool, only warming into the upper 50s to lower 60s. A soggy day around the region tomorrow with even a light dusting of snow in the mountains as the snow level will lower to around 3500' Saturday night.

A rainy weekend ahead, but temperatures will slowly warm in Seattle heading into next week. Early indications show that skies will clear and temperatures will warm into the 70s in time for Memorial Day weekend.

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The National Weather Service in Wichita is working to upgrade its Advanced Weather Interactive Processing system until Wednesday. The office says all NOAA Weather Radio Transmitters will be off the air at the time of the update. Rivers flooding impacting roads in northeast Kansas
KANSAS (KSNT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) is reporting that multiple rivers in northeast Kansas are expected to go above their flood stages, with some impacting local highways. 27 News Meteorologist Ely Millard said a round of storms will develop midday into the afternoon and evening on June 3. He said some of the storms could be strong to severe. Areas along I-35 and towards the southeast of Topeka is where the most rainfall is expected to occur. Those areas could see 3-4 inches of rain. At 1 p.m., Shawnee County Emergency Management issued a Flash Flood Warning until 2:30 p.m., reporting that flash flooding is ongoing or is expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have already fallen and another 1-2 inches are possible for the impacted area. The NWS said motorists shouldn't attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. 'Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads,' the NWS writes. 'Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.' Could Topeka have a 1951 flood repeat? Pottawatomie Creek in Franklin and Anderson Counties – expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon. From Wednesday morning to early Friday morning, minor lowland areas, Virginia Road, Douglas Road and Cloud Road may be impacted by flooding. Salt Creek in Osage County – expected to rise above flood stage this evening. Neosho River in Lyon County – expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning. Marais Des Cygnes River in Miami, Franklin, Bates, Linn, Lyon and Osage counties – expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon. Gov. Landry to talk about hurricane preparedness
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Gov. Jeff Landry and other state leaders are set to talk about what residents need to know to prepare for this year's hurricane season Tuesday afternoon. A news conference with Landry, the Louisiana National Guard, and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in Baton Rouge. FEMA chief was joking with hurricane season awareness remarks: DHS The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts an above-normal Atlantic hurricane season for 2025. A range of 13 to 19 named storms is forecasted, with three to five that could become major hurricanes. 'In my 30 years at the National Weather Service, we've never had more advanced models and warning systems in place to monitor the weather,' NOAA's National Weather Service Director Ken Graham said. 'This outlook is a call to action: be prepared. Take proactive steps now to make a plan and gather supplies to ensure you're ready before a storm threatens.' The Louisiana National Guard started its preparation long before June 1, the date that officially marks the start of hurricane season. Leaders from different commands gathered to refine emergency response plans on May 21 in Baton Rouge. 'This is the capstone event in our year-long planning cycle for hurricane season,' said Maj. Gen. Thomas Friloux, adjutant general of Louisiana. 'This isn't a war game. It's about refining real plans, identifying gaps, and ensuring we're ready to act when the time comes.'
