Seattle weather: Breezy showers to kick off weekend
The Brief Friday's summer-like warmth will give way to cooler temperatures and showers on Saturday due to a cold front. Rainfall will be light, with winds gusting up to 25 mph in Puget Sound and up to 50 mph east of the Cascades. A wind advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. for Ellensburg and Wenatchee; mild weather returns next week. SEATTLE - We closed out the week with some summer-like warmth on Friday as highs topped out in the 70s and 80s. A cooler day is forecast for Saturday as a weak cold front sweeps through during the afternoon. The afternoon cold front will bring breezy showers to our region. Rainfall amounts will generally be light, around a tenth to two-tenths of an inch. A convergence to our north may bring slightly higher rainfall totals there. Winds will be breezy at times as the cold pushes through. Winds in the Puget Sound lowlands will gust to near 25 mph. Winds will be higher just east of the Cascades, where they may near 50mph. A wind advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. for areas around Ellensburg and Wenatchee. Seattle weather: Sunny, warm to end the week
The Brief A weak cold front brought light rain and cooler temperatures to western Washington on Thursday, dropping highs by 10-20 degrees. Sunshine and summer-like warmth are expected to return on Friday as a high pressure ridge rebuilds. Another cold front on Saturday may bring showers, with skies clearing and temperatures in the low 70s next week. SEATTLE - A weak cold front swept through early this morning, bringing light rain and cooler temperatures to western Washington on Thursday. After seeing highs in the 80s yesterday, they were about 10-20 degrees cooler today, near the average of 68 degrees. What's next A high pressure ridge once again rebuilds tonight with sunshine and summer-like warmth back on Friday. Seattle weather: Light showers, cool temperatures return
The Brief Western Washington experienced summer-like heat with highs in the 80s and 90s on Wednesday. A weak front on Thursday may bring light rain, especially along the coast, and possible thunderstorms in the mountains. Breezy winds will lower temperatures to seasonal averages, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s for the rest of the week. SEATTLE - We saw summer-like heat around much of western Washington today! Afternoon highs soared into the 80s and 90s today. We typically see our first 80 degree day around May 16, so we were a little behind schedule this year, but certainly not the latest we've ever seen. What's next A weak front will slide through during the day Thursday. Light rain will be possible during the morning commute. The best chances for rain will be along the coast, where we could see close to .40" of rainfall. Amounts will be less in the interior regions, ranging between .10"-.20". There is even a chance of some thunderstorms in the mountains and Central Washington tomorrow. Breezy onshore winds will bring temperatures back down to seasonal averages. Winds will be especially breezy just east of the Cascades and into Central Washington, where gusts may range between 30-40 at times. After some morning showers on Thursday, we quickly dry out once again and temperatures will warm back up to the upper 70s. Afternoon highs will stay in the upper 60s to low 70s for the rest of the week. Seattle weather: Sunnier skies and mild for Memorial Day weekend
The Brief Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be quite nice with lots of sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 70s. A few stray showers are possible on Monday, but conditions are forecast to be more dry than wet. SEATTLE - A great way to kick off our long holiday weekend today. Plenty of blue skies with a mix of some clouds, but still dry. Afternoon highs were near seasonal averages in the upper 60s. Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be quite nice. We will enjoy lots of sunshine, especially Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 70s area wide. A few stray showers are possible on Monday, but conditions are forecast to be more dry than wet. Just another reminder that while our afternoon temperatures are forecast to warm up, the water is still very cold around western Washington. Please continue to use caution when boating or near our waterways. After our brief shower chance on Monday, we are looking ahead to what may be our first 80-degree day of the season on Wednesday. Seattle weather: Soggy skies continue Into the weekend
