Jordan Spieth is virtually locked into the field for the first FedEx Cup playoff tournament (FedEx St. Jude Championship), and with a very good chance of advancing to the second. The three-time major winner still has high hopes for this season, but he also thinks he'll be all the way back by this time next year. Spieth struggled with a wrist injury that kept him out of last season's Top 50, which prevented him from advancing to the second playoff event. After undergoing surgery last summer, he has slowly regained his form and is currently ranked 50th in the FedEx Cup rankings. Jordan Spieth of the United States tees off on the 1st hole on day two of The 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club on July 18, 2025 in Portrush, Northern Ireland. Jordan Spieth of the United States tees off on the 1st hole on day two of The 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club on July 18, 2025 in Portrush, Northern 32-year-old is in the Wyndham Championship field looking for a result that will push him deeper into that select group. "It would be nice to have a huge boost this week and not have to worry about it next week, but I'm fully prepared to have some stress next week on that 50 number, and ideally a good start this week or next week really takes a lot of that off," Spieth said, according to the transcripts of his pre-tournament press conference. Finishing inside the top 50 of the FedEx Cup rankings would allow him not only to qualify for the second playoff tournament (the BMW Championship), but also for all of next season's signature events. A lot to play for in the coming weeks for Jordan Spieth 💥 He enters @WyndhamChamp at No. 50. — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) July 30, 2025 However, Spieth is viewing this end of the season as a stepping stone to reach the top of his game. "Next year's going to be a really good year for me, I can feel it. It's all coming along. I'll be healthy, and just structurally putting, the mechanics are all getting really, really close. One good offseason should get me nailed down to where I could be as good as I've been. That's my goal." The 13-time PGA Tour winner has four top-10s this season. His best results were fourth-place finishes at both the WM Phoenix Open and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Spieth hasn't won on the PGA Tour since 2022 (RBC Heritage). His goal is to return to his results from 2015-2017, when he won 10 tournaments, including his three major championships, and the FedEx Cup title. Wyndham Championship live leaderboard updates for PGA Tour's 2025 regular-season finale

Hard to believe but we have arrived at the final regular-season event on the PGA Tour's 2025 schedule. It's the Wyndham Championship, which will be played at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, once again. Sedgefield, a 7,131 yard, par 70 Donald Ross golf course, is hosting the Wyndham for the 17th time. Originally opened in the 1920s, the course underwent a restoration in 2007. The course is tied for 183rd on the Golfweek's Best 2025: Top 200 Classic Courses in the U.S. list. This week will see the 156-man field chasing a trophy and a payday but the tournament-within-the-tournament will be the race to make the top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings. It's a new metric, as last year, the top 100 made the FedEx Cup Playoffs. 2025 Wyndham Championship leaderboard, tee times Keep tabs on all the first-round scores right here. You can also find Wyndham Championship tee times here. Who's in the field for the 2025 Wyndham Championship? Since the creation of the FedEx Cup in 2007, the Wyndham has been the final event of the FedEx Cup regular season. The field in 2025 is as strong as it's ever been – from Adam Scott to Jordan Spieth and fellow past major winner Hideki Matsuyama. Other big names include Tony Finau (60), Matt Fitzpatrick (43), Robert MacIntyre (15) and Keegan Bradley (10). Who's near the top 70 cutoff for the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs? Rickie Fowler, who enters the week at No. 61, made the cut at the 3M Open so he likely will survive the cut off for the top 70 (see the standings here) but he still has work to do if he intends to move on to the second playoff event, the BMW Championship, which is limited to the top 50. Others near the 70 mark include: Where to watch, follow 2025 Wyndham Championship? Playoff Bubble Watch: Five Players Fighting For FedExCup Survival

One tournament, the Wyndham Championship, remains before the PGA Tour playoffs, and only the top 70 players in FedExCup points will stamp their tickets to Memphis and the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The top 70 players qualify for the St. Jude Championship, the top 50 for the BMW Championship (formerly the Western Open), and the top 30 for the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club. Here are the players on the cusp: Mitchell is currently 5 points behind the top-70 cutoff. After a missed cut at the 3M Open and a lackluster finish at The Open Championship, he'll need a strong performance this week to make it to Memphis. Kirk has had a strong summer, with a T-13 at the 3M Open and a runner-up finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic after a playoff. Since the Memorial Tournament, he has missed just one cut and is the most likely candidate among the bubble players to advance. Kirk isn't a long hitter, but Sedgefield Country Club, this week's course, rewards accuracy and approach play more than distance. He currently sits 12 points outside the top 70. Cole has faltered in the second half of the season. A solid start and strong spring had him safely inside the top 70, but three missed cuts, one withdrawal, and a T-60 in his last five events have dropped him to 79th in the standings. He's unlikely to make the playoffs. Schmid currently holds the 70th spot, just inside the playoff cut. The German could secure his place at the St. Jude with a made cut and boost his Ryder Cup resume with a strong finish. He's played in the Wyndham Championship twice, finishing 64th and 22nd. While his overall approach game isn't a strength, his wedge play is elite. At just over 7,000 yards, Sedgefield is a short course, and Schmid should have wedges into many greens. Cauley is safe for the St. Jude, currently ranked 51st in points, but he's on the bubble for the BMW Championship. He's appeared on several leaderboards this year, has four top-10 finishes, and has missed only three cuts all season. Cauley's comeback story is remarkable: he suffered serious injuries in 2018 after a car accident following the Memorial Tournament, six broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a broken femur. After a full return to the Tour last year, he's reestablished himself in 2025 as a legitimate contender.
