SSC Stenographer admit card 2025:
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the admit card for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination 2025. Candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms can now download their admit cards from the official website ssc.gov.in.
The examination is scheduled to take place between August 6 and August 8, 2025.
The SSC Stenographer Grade C, D Examination is being conducted to fill a total of 1,590 vacancies, with 230 posts for Grade C and 1,360 posts for Grade D. The Commission advises candidates to download their admit cards well in advance and ensure all details are correct. The admit card will also serve as an entry pass to the examination hall and must be carried along with a valid photo identity.
Important dates and exam details
The notification for the SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025 was published on June 5, 2025. Online applications were accepted until June 26, 2025, which was also the last date for fee payment. Candidates could expect to receive their exam city intimation slips by July 31, 2025. The admit card was made available two to three days before the examination date.
The examination will be conducted in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format, followed by descriptive tests, skill tests, document verification, and final selection.
The SSC will notify the results once the selection process is complete.

Eligibility criteria and career trajectory
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or institution in India to be eligible for both Grade C and Grade D posts.
For Grade C, transcription timings are 40 minutes in English and 55 minutes in Hindi, while for Grade D, the timings are 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi.
The salary structure for SSC Stenographer Grade C ranges from Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800 per month with a grade pay of Rs 4,200, while Grade D salaries range from Rs 5,200 to Rs 20,200 with a grade pay of Rs 2,400. In addition to the salary, candidates will also receive allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Travel Allowance (TA), and other applicable benefits.
Exam pattern and selection process
The written examination comprises three subjects: General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 questions, 50 marks), General Awareness (50 questions, 50 marks), and English Language and Comprehension (100 questions, 100 marks), making a total of 200 marks. The exam duration is 120 minutes (two hours), and there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
The recruitment process involves multiple stages, including the CBT exam, descriptive test, skill test, document verification, and final selection based on overall performance.

The exam is scheduled to end on September 9. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to cancellation of their candidature. Candidates must bring their admit cards along with a valid photo ID (Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of e-Aadhaar (not Xerox copy of Aadhaar), Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a govt. employee, college / university Photo ID card, if still studying) in original to the examination hall. The name, date of birth and photo on ID should match the details furnished in the online application. Candidates must also bring one colour photograph (of size 35 mm x 45 mm), which was uploaded in the application. The CBT 1 is a screening test and the questions will generally be as per the educational standards prescribed for the posts. The normalized score of the CBT 1 will be used to shortlist candidates for the CBT 2. RRB NTPC CBT 1 pass marks: UR- 40 per cent EWS- 40 per cent OBC (Non creamy layer) - 30 per cent SC- 30 per cent ST - 25 per cent. A relaxation of two marks will be provided to PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them English is the default language in the exam. In case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the questions between English and the opted language, the content of the English version will be considered.
