At the Box Office: ‘Yadang: The Snitch'
COLCHESTER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – This week on 'At the Box Office' film critic Julia Swift discussed 'Yadang: The Snitch', a Korean film about the those that provide drug-dealer information to the police.
While this film does have action, Swift says it's 'not just for action lovers.'
She notes that this film is a 'really smart, really good, wonderful moments type film that transcends the action genre.' The action itself comes in little bursts that are fun and not very gory.
'Yadang: The Snitch' also has some notable actors attached to it that create strong characters. Those characters embody the themes of this film, which Swift says are classism and social divide.
Despite these strong qualities, Swift's biggest criticism is that she's tired of 'only seeing prostitutes and sex workers as the women characters in Korean action films.'
Still, Swift found this to be a fun watch. Anyone interested can check out 'Yadang: The Snitch' in select theatres next week.

Vermont Fairs and Field Days happening all across the state
VERMONT (ABC22/FOX44) – Vermont's county fairs and festivals are just getting started. Each year, the events attract legions of locals as well as plenty of visitors from afar looking for unique food, crafts, and entertainment. The state's Department of Agriculture calls the events perfect for those looking for 'fun and authentic experience[s] in Vermont'. Combined, they draw over 300,000 people each year. The Vermont Maple Festival already concluded in April, and the Vermont Dairy Festival and the Bradford Fair are happening this weekend. The dairy festival, in Enosburg, is happening right after the state received federal recognition for its dairy industry.
