Ford was meant to face Anthony Cacace, but the Northern Irish star picked up an injury during training camp and was forced to withdraw.
The American is certainly the favourite going into this contest, boasting a professional boxing record of 17-1-1.
The 26-year-old star won the WBA featherweight world title last March, defeating Otabek Kholmatov via a dramatic TKO in the final round.
But he failed to defend his title in June, 2024 as he lost out to Nick Ball - who also fights on the card - by split decision.
He has since moved up to the super featherweight division where he has beaten both Orlando Gonzalez and Thomas Mattice.
His opponent, the more experienced Nova, has a professional boxing record of 24-3-1, although he hasn't won a fight since 2023.
Victory for the 31-year-old brawler would arguably be a career best win and could catapult the unranked boxer into a world title shot.

Mick Schumacher edges closer to Cadillac F1 deal but not the one he wants most
Cadillac are in the process of recruiting drivers for their maiden Formula 1 season in 2026 with Mick Schumacher one of those who has held talks with the American outfit Mick Schumacher is edging closer to a Formula 1 return – but not in a race seat. The 26-year-old son of seven-time World champion Michael is desperate to revive his F1 career which ended in 2022 after two seasons with minnows Haas. He spent time as reserve at Mercedes after that but has since left F1 altogether to race with Alpine in the World Endurance Championship [WEC]. Schumacher has three podiums to his name so far and hopes to use it as a springboard back onto the F1 grid. The German has held discussions with Cadillac, who will form F1's 11th team next year, about a potential deal. And it is understood that those talks have progressed, though at this stage it is unlikely that he will be given one of the two race seats on offer for 2026. Instead, Schumacher is the front-runner to be named as Cadillac's first reserve driver, as reported by The Race. He would prefer a race seat, but a reserve role is still believed to appeal to Schumacher who wants to get his foot back in the door of the F1 paddock. Experienced F1 race-winners Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez are understood to be Cadillac's preferred choices for their race seats. They are each in advanced talks while some reports claim the latter, who has spent this year away from F1 having been axed by Red Bull last December, is close to agreeing a deal. Both, however, have also held talks with bottom-feeders Alpine who are considering their 2026 options for a partner to Pierre Gasly. Franco Colapinto has yet to score a single point since replacing Jack Doohan in May, who also did not manage a top 10 finish. Schumacher, the 2020 Formula 2 champion, raced 43 times for Haas but finished in the top 10 just twice. He also suffered several large and expensive crashes which were a financial headache for F1's smallest team and that, ultimately, led to then-team boss Guenther Steiner dropping him at the end of 2022. The consensus is that he has done fairly well since making the switch to WEC, including a 10th-placed finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. Schumacher looks increasingly likely to leave Alpine at the end of this season and could switch to Cadillac's Team Jota, one of the top teams in WEC, replacing 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button. Whether or not the German does land a place with Cadillac's F1 project remains to be seen. But former F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve has made clear his belief that the new team would be making a mistake if they pick the German for one of their race seats. The 1997 title winner said: "Mick Schumacher had a hard time when he was at Haas. He has not an experienced driver either. There is no reason to go for him."

And the veteran remains on course to be the oldest singles star to take to the court at Flushing Meadows for 44 years. In 1981, Renee Richards played at the age of 47. Many expected Williams to retire from tennis this year, having not competed between March 2024 and July 2025 due to health struggles - she needed surgery to remove fibroids from her uterus a year ago. Her last win was way back at the Cincinnati Open in August 2023. However, she accepted a wildcard for the Washington Open last month and stunned then-world No35 Peyton Stearns to win 6-3 6-4. And despite a first-round loss at Cincinnati, one of the all-time greats will grace the New York courts once more at the upcoming US Open, where the prize money stands at a record $5million [£3.7m]. Chelsea face huge delay to 60,000-seater new stadium with plans not even submitted and project to cost BILLIONS
The Blues have bigger plans for the Stamford Bridge area BRIDGE THE GAP Chelsea face huge delay to 60,000-seater new stadium with plans not even submitted and project to cost BILLIONS CHELSEA are facing more delays in their plans for a new stadium. The fan-led organisation which owns Stamford Bridge believes spiralling construction costs in the wider industry are stalling proposals for a 60,000-seater ground and other facilities. Blues' chiefs have still not decided whether to redevelop their current home or to build on a new site. Chris Isitt, chair of the board of Chelsea Pitch Owners, revealed in an email to fans: 'To be clear, there is no proposal from the club to CPO, either for redevelopment or for moving. 'Nothing much has changed since CFC President/CEO Jason Gannon spoke at our AGM back in January. 'We understand the club has been active for some time in speaking to relevant external parties that would be involved in either staying or going; local authorities, GLA, TfL, etc. Advertisement 'We understand that one of the main concerns at present is inflation in the construction industry and the subsequent spiralling of costs compared to other projects in London of a similar nature in the last few years. 'The purchase agreement in 2022 set a figure of £1.75billion to go towards the foundation, academy development and stadium redevelopment. 'Based on current estimates, all of that, and more, would be required just to get the stadium built right.' Under previous owner Roman Abramovich, Chelsea were given planning permission to redevelop Stamford Bridge in 2017. Advertisement CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS But Abramovich mothballed the plans a year later amidst a row over delays in the British Government renewing his visa. In April this year, the Blues announced that Hammersmith and Fulham Council's planning committee had once more given the green light for a 60,000-seater stadium on the Stamford Bridge site. Chelsea legend John Terry gives up dream of becoming a manager But the club warned there were many more hurdles to overcome before work could even begin. Advertisement Isitt pointed out in his email that the Abramovich plans were for a stadium only, while the current owners who bought him out in 2022 have a much more ambitious vision. The club has purchased extra land next to the Bridge with a view to building a much bigger entertainment complex. Chelsea want and need to generate more income to keep up with their Premier League and European rivals. Stamford Bridge's capacity of 40,341 is well below the 60,000 or more seats that Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham have. Advertisement Analysis of gate receipts for the 2023/24 season put Chelsea in 10th place with £71m - less than half of the matchday revenue of Real Madrid (£153m) and behind Arsenal (£127m), United (£107), Tottenham (£102m), Liverpool (£90m) and Man City (£74m). Chelsea Pitch Owners was set up after the club almost lost Stamford Bridge during financial problems in the 1970s and 1980s that led to the ground being sold to property developers. To protect the future of Chelsea and its home since 1905, CPO bought the freehold of the stadium in 1997 with the help of a £10m loan from the club. The result is that the ground cannot be sold or redeveloped without CPO approval. The group also has power over the club's naming rights, which means it could prevent the club from using the name 'Chelsea' if it moved somewhere else.
