'We are expecting an attendance of approximately 45,000 guests, including a vibrant mix of celebrities, influencers, and high-profile dignitaries from across the country. This year, we are especially thrilled to introduce an exclusive VIP Marquee Village, which will offer a curated, high-end experience that truly showcases the glamour, fashion and excitement that the Hollywoodbets Durban July is renowned for.'

Markarian Resort 2026 Collection

Alexandra O'Neill's resort lineup for Markarian is a potpourri of options that fit whatever definition of 'resort' her shopper may have. There's her usual cocktail-ready holiday options, these trimmed with luscious velvets and finished in sparkling brocades, and her styles meant for true holi-days—meaning warm-weather appropriate 'vacation pieces,' as she called them at a preview, which 'transition and have longevity throughout the season.' O'Neill knows how to make a good party dress. There's an abundance of women in New York—many editors at this very magazine—who would be happy to confirm that. But this lookbook offers plenty proof: A coquette-ish LRD (little red dress, naturally) in velvet is a standout, as is a black floor-length sheath that looks demure in front but reveals a low-slung tie and train in the back. Her usual tea-length options remain covetable and are true crowd pleasers, though it's nice to see O'Neill push into more niche territory with delightfully playful alternatives like a black carwash fringe moment. O'Neill has also been working on defining what Markarian daywear looks like; here she did so with a range of silky, wispy, easy frocks and an array of knits. The former are the more successful—they encompass the same elegance that defines her eveningwear. The season's throughline is a bouquet of jaunty florals in an abundance of fabrications and realizations. The reasoning behind this was O'Neill's longing for warmer weather while she was working on this lineup over the winter months. She watched the Apple TV+ show Palm Royale, she said, which 'is totally ridiculous but so good.' The show might have inspired the warmth—and foliage—in this collection, but its outlandishness also comes through in its best look: a dress made of tons of tiny light-blue sequined circles finished with pink embroidery around them—they looked like bubbles or even snow globes. Funky and frisky yet totally appropriate, it was the just-right meeting point between O'Neill's winter holiday dressing and summer vacation-wear.

Rachel Comey Resort 2026 Collection

This season's conversation print at Rachel Comey is a raffle ticket stamped with the words GOOD TIMES. She also blew it up to supersized proportions, so big the effect was almost abstract. None of these pieces made the lookbook, but the sentiment suffuses these resort clothes. Comey has made herself a wardrobe staple for the creative classes from New York to Los Angeles not by making everyday staples, but by adding a dash of the offbeat and eccentric to those everyday staples. If these photos bring Little Edie at Grey Gardens to mind, that's not entirely accidental. They were photographed in Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney's ceramics studio in Roslyn, New York. (Vanderbilt Whitney was the founder of the Whitney Museum of American Art.) 'It hasn't been touched,' Comey marveled of the studio's mosaic stone floors, wall murals, and empty kitchen cupboards. 'In that way it is very like Grey Gardens.' Naturally, there's an air of the art-loving iconoclast to the clothes. See the opening look's clashing intarsia knits and country club-ish 1980s embroidered corduroy shirt, the seafoam green gown worn with a brushed mohair man's coat and bedroom slippers, or the printed and pintucked blouse tucked into a long narrow skirt with perma-creases, complete with a rhinestone brooch pinned to the waistband. Comey's signature—or one of them, at least—is the way she marries the 'nutty, novelty' detail with the eminently wearable. This season's exemplars are the quilted barn jacket and car coat with the deep detachable faux fur muffs at the wrists. A shearling jacket with gold polka dots, like someone had daubed it with a paintbrush, was a surprise sell-out last year; this season's update is a curly-haired shearling with ribbed knit collar and sleeves.

The Attico Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Consistency? Cute in concept. But The Attico's designers see it differently: as a velvet trap. Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini prioritize evolution over expectation, freedom over formula. Change your mind, your mood, your look. Be whoever you want. No guilt—just reinvention, on your own terms. 'We don't believe in a one-note women, and we design for their contradictions,' they said. In an industry where female design leaders remain shockingly few, their perspective rings with authenticity— fashion driven by the female gaze, not by approval. Intrigued by tension, they went sharper and less languid this season—vintage decadence turned angular, body-con appeal gave way to concision, and pragmatism. The vibe was urban and assertive. Broad-shouldered, low-slung tailoring grounded the collection and straight-leg, thigh-high black leather boots were styled under everything: a flapper-turned-minimalist jersey minidress with an asymmetrical ruched hem, a taut stretchy strapless top, a side-slit, net-sequined slender dress. Blazers came oversized, layered over cropped trumpet pants and sexy heels. Furry knitwear in saccharine shades appeared soft, but up close, the texture was felted, raw. Mongolian lamb chubbies and jacquard snake motifs hinted at a primal, instinctive allure. A bustier dress was intricately crocheted from ribbons that unraveled into long, swaying fringes, undulating with every seductive movement. Sensuality remains The Attico's hallmark—no matter how sharp their edge or grounded their realism.
