A recent image of acclaimed actor Alencier in a police uniform has been making the rounds on social media. In the pic, the 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram' actor was seen in a noticeably slimmer appearance.
The picture, from the upcoming film 'Vere Oru Case' (Another Case) directed by
Shebi Chowghat
, has prompted a wave of unfounded rumours about the actor's health. Many online users speculated that the veteran performer was battling a serious illness — claims the film's director has firmly dismissed.
I have always interacted with colleagues without gender discrimination or false intentions: Alencier
Transformation, not illness
Speaking to Manorama Online, Shebi Chowghat clarified that Alencier is in perfect health, and his leaner look is the result of dedicated weight loss for a role — not due to any ailment.
'When I first met him for my film, he had a good build. I half-jokingly told him to lose some weight for the character and gave him a few tips. I never imagined he would take it so seriously,' Shebi said.
On-set energy and commitment - I even asked him if it was because of diabetes
The director recalled being surprised upon seeing Alencier during the shoot of Vere Oru Case. The costumer had already noted the actor's slimmer frame, but Shebi was struck by the change in person. 'I even asked him if it was because of diabetes or another illness, and he just smiled, saying he had been dieting for my film,' Shebi shared.
He added that Alencier displayed remarkable energy on set, working until midnight without any signs of fatigue, and later arrived in equally good spirits for dubbing sessions.
'Please don't burden him'
While appreciative of the buzz surrounding Alencier's transformation, Shebi urged fans and social media users to avoid jumping to conclusions. 'Please don't burden him with imagined illnesses and accusations born out of pure imagination. He is doing well, and I pray for his continued good health,' the director said.

Mithun Chakraborty's witty Tsunami threat to Bilawal Bhutto; Actor's ‘140 crore' quip sparks reactions - 'Kya dialogue mara dada'

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Actor-turned-political leader Mithun Chakraborty on Tuesday (August 12) responded sharply — and humorously — to remarks made by former Pakistan foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding India's handling of the Indus Waters Treaty . In a video shared by ANI, speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Mithun didn't just counter the claim — he made it memorable. 'Agar aisi baatein karte rahenge aur humari khopdi sanak gayi toh phir ek ke baad ek BrahMos challenge,' he warned, suggesting that repeated provocations could trigger a strong response. Then came his trademark wit: 'We have also thought of building a dam where 140 crore people will p**. After that, we will open the dam, and a tsunami will occur. ' 'Ek Ke Baad Ek BrahMos, Then A Pee Dam': Mithun Chakraborty Warns Pak, Takes Dig At Bilawal Bhutto Bilawal's claim and Mithun's sarcastic twist Bilawal had alleged that diverting the Indus River's water away from Pakistan amounted to an attack on its history, culture, and civilisation, with Sindh being hit hardest. Mithun, known for his no-nonsense attitude and tongue-in-cheek remarks, stressed that his comments were not directed at the people of Pakistan, but solely at Bilawal himself. Netizens react - kya dialogue mara dada Several Twitter users have commented to Mithun's remarks. One comment read, "BrahMos is fine, but a 140 crore p** dam? " Another one wrote, "Language bhai sahab" A third comment read, "kya dialogue mara dada." Back to the big screen with a unique role While his political comments made headlines, Mithun is also making waves in cinema. He was last seen in 'Shreeman v/s Shreemati' (2025), a family comedy-drama where he plays a judge infamous for never granting divorces. Directed by Pathikrit Basu and starring Anjana Basu and Anjan Dutt alongside Mithun, the film blends light-hearted humour with an emotional core. The movie received decent reviews with a 3 star rating from ETimes. The actor was also seen in 'Riwaj'.
