Last Saturday, Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) drew a massive crowd to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for the opening of a new restaurant. During an interview with local press, the star spoke about her latest project, returning to Malaysia and more.
The actress recently attended the opening of the first On Lee Noodle Shop outlet in Malaysia at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. As a friend of the brand, Charmaine graced the event to officiate the opening and to meet local fans. Of course, the 'The Queen of News' star is no stranger to Malaysia, having filmed her drama 'The Heir to the Throne' in many parts of the Klang Valley. As such, many were curious to know if Charmaine is open to filming in KL again.
Charmaine responded gleefully, saying she'll definitely return to Malaysia to film again if there's an invitation in the future. The actress also recalled her experience filming in Malaysia, saying, 'It's very comfortable here, with delicious food and beautiful scenery. I also had a lot of fun getting along with the actors.' The 50-year-old also said that Malaysia feels like home to her, saying, 'I feel like here is a second Hong Kong.'
The star also spoke about her time in Malaysia so far, saying that she's been eating non-stop since arriving last Thursday. The actress, who recently concluded filming for the second season of 'The Queen of News', quipped, 'Finally, I don't have to lose weight so I can eat as much as I want.' The public figure also praised On Lee's fishball noodles, urging locals to try her childhood dish.
Besides finishing filming for 'The Queen Of News 2', Charmaine also recently finished filming for another drama titled 'Themis'. However, the actress revealed that she's not working on any more projects, saying she wants to take a break. Charmaine said, 'I want to calm myself down and see if there are any suitable roles in the future, so I won't consider new scripts for the time being.'
Charmaine also revealed that her mother is accompanying her on this trip, so the two will take time to enjoy their time together in Malaysia. Whatever their plans are, we hope they make some fun memories while they're in town.

Taiwan-based Malaysian singer Gary Chaw reportedly hasn't moved on from ex-wife: 'Still in pain'

It's been nearly three years since Malaysian singer Gary Chaw divorced Taiwanese fashion blogger Wu Shuling, but it seems he hasn't fully moved on. The 46-year-old recently shared on Xiaohongshu (Red Note) a video of himself singing his 2019 song I'm Just A Fool – a ballad in which he confronts his shortcomings and expresses his unconditional devotion. The post quickly drew attention, with many netizens praising Chaw's soulful vocals, while others shared how the performance evoked a deep sense of nostalgia. According to China Press, Chaw also left two comments about Wu under his video. The former couple, who divorced in November 2022 after 14 years of marriage, share two children – Joe, 16, and Grace, 14. 'I still haven't forgotten Shuling,' read one of the comments. 'Actually, I'm still in pain,' he wrote in another. It's reported that Chaw later deleted both comments mentioning Wu. This isn't the first time the singer has shown that he's still struggling to move on. In July 2023, Chaw made a series of Instagram posts about his ex-wife and their children – including a throwback wedding photo of him and Wu smiling blissfully. 'I'm messed up... But I still love her,' he wrote at that time. A few months later, while performing his song Zhang Wen during a concert in Taipei, Chaw altered the original lyric 'There is no winning or losing' to 'There is no Shuling'. 'I still love her… Taking it one step at a time,' he said back then.

(Video) Pan Mei Chen Couldn't Perform In Malaysia For Years Because She Was Betrayed By Protégé

Over the weekend, Taiwanese singer Pan Mei Chen (潘美辰) performed at Arena of Stars, marking her long-awaited return to Malaysia. During the show, she candidly revealed why it took her nearly a decade to return for a performance. The Mandopop star performed at Arena of Stars on 2nd August 2025 (Saturday) as part of her 'Returning Home' World Tour. Since the show marks her first concert in Malaysia after eight years, the audience was mostly fans who had been waiting a long time to watch Pan Mei Chen perform live. While international stars have many reasons for not performing in a country, the singer said her reason for not returning to Malaysia was very personal. The singer revealed that she had signed a Malaysian singer to her agency many years ago and had planned to bring him to Taipei to debut. However, the singer secretly entered a singing competition without Pan Mei Chen's consent. Shockingly, the singer claimed not to know the Mandopop icon and even blocked her contact after winning the contest. Understandably, the experience of being betrayed by her beloved mentee traumatised Pan Mei Chen. The singer-songwriter said she couldn't set foot in Malaysia for many years because she felt betrayed by her former protégé. The singer never revealed what changed her mind. However, it's possible that her fans in Malaysia helped encourage Pan Mei Chen to return. During the concert, the star made sure to interact with her fans as much as possible, even walking amongst the audience to get closer to fans. Throughout the night, Pan Mei Chen performed all her classic hits, including her most popular track, 'I Want A Home'. As the concert came to an end, the star thanked all the fans who attended, as well as some special guests. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards her fans in Malaysia, saying, 'You must remember that I, Pan Mei Chen, have never forgotten Malaysia. This is from the bottom of my heart.' Pan Mei Chen also promised to return to Malaysia more often, saying she won't take another eight years to perform here again.
