People are just realizing clever reason McDonald's logo is yellow and red
When most people pull up under the double aches to order salty fries and a Big Mac, they aren't thinking about the bold red and yellow color scheme of the iconic restaurant, but it does mean something.
It's printed on everything - the bag, the French fry boxes, even on the ice cream wrapper that sticks to your cone. So why exactly did the fast-food chain choose these two clashing colors?
Well, it's a mind trick... literally!
'Red triggers stimulation, appetite, hunger; it attracts attention,' color psychologist Karen Haller told The Mirror. 'Yellow triggers the feelings of happiness and friendliness.'
She went on to say that the color combination psychologically indicates to the brain ideas of 'speed' and 'quickness.'
'In, eat, and out again,' she told The Mirror.
The yellow has a double function; the bright color naturally draws attention and can be easily spotted from the road.
Also, the yellow arches resemble one of its most popular menu items: fries.
And pair the arch with its red base, the resulting combo looks like their famous box of fries.
There are only a few places where the McDonald's logo isn't yellow and red, and you'd have to drive to Arizona to find one of them.
A store in Sedona instead has a unique set of teal colored arches on its exterior.
The Sedona location, located off State Route 89A, isn't the only McDonald's in the world that deviates from the classic yellow symbol, but this one has a good reason.
The burger joint location was built in 1993 - just a few years after Sedona was incorporated into Arizona.
After the Department of Community Development settled into its role, it decided it was unhappy with the bright gold against Sedona's muted natural red rock beauty.
'Someone suggested it would be interesting if they did something else than golden arches to fit in with the identity that the city decided to establish,' senior planner for the department, Cari Meyer, told ABC 15 in 2022.
The city government pushed McDonald's to switch to teal to avoid clashing with Sedona's breathtaking background.

Mountaineer killed by falling 3,000 feet from North America's highest mountain
The body of a mountaineer was recovered Wednesday after he fell 3,000 feet to his death from Alaska's Mount McKinley, North America's highest mountain, also known as Denali. The National Park Service said in a statement that 41-year-old Alex Chiu fell from Squirrel Point on the mountain's West Buttress route, about 12,000 feet above sea level. Chiu and his expedition were en-route to the Peters Glacier. He was untethered at the time of the incident Monday and fell down an exposed and rocky cliff face about 3,000-foot — or around a half-mile. High winds and snow meant rescuers were unable to reach the body by helicopter until early Wednesday. 'After witnessing the fall, the reporting party lowered over the edge as far as possible but was unable to see or hear Chiu,' the NPS said. Chiu's body has been transferred to the local medical examiner. A climber from Japan died while on the West Buttress route in May last year and a French climber, who was also un-roped, fell to his death near the same location in 2010. McKinley, widely known by its Native American name Denali, is more than 20,000 feet tall and a popular destination for climbers. The NPS said around 500 climbers are currently on the mountain. The mountain had been known as Denali for generations, meaning 'the tall one' in the Athabascan language, but it was designated McKinley in 1917. It was then officially recognized as Denali in 2015 under Barack Obama's administration, but this year President Donald Trump ordered it to be changed back to McKinley. The name of the Denali National Park and Preserve remains unchanged, however.

EastEnders star hints at Celebrity Traitors drama after filming 'stressful' show
EastEnders actress Tameka Empson, who plays Kim Fox on the BBC soap, told The Mirror all about her 'stressful' but 'great' stint on Celebrity Traitors, teasing drama ahead Soap star Tameka Empson found Celebrity Traitors so "stressful" she can never look at a circular table ever again, after filming the dreaded Round Table scenes. "Can we get a square table, maybe an oval one," the EastEnders favourite joked with The Mirror at this year's British Soap Awards. But despite some tense moments, all to be revealed when the show launches this Autumn, the Kim Fox actress, who took a short break from the BBC soap to film Claudia Winkleman's hit competition series, said she had a "great time". Tameka, 48, can't wait to see it all unfold onscreen, hinting she wasn't there for some of the moments set to air. Perhaps this could tease an early banishment for the comedian, while she told us of her appearance on the show alongside the likes of Clare Balding, Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross: "It's out of the bag now. I loved it. "What I would say is that when you watch it and then when you are in it, it's two completely different things. Oh my God." With Tameka away from EastEnders for filming in Scotland, she teased when her character Kim does return there's emotional scenes ahead. She spilled: "There is going to be more joy now that Kim is back on the Square, and she is going to be a bit emotional. "I hope viewers understand her pain. Maybe I've said too much." Tameka also teased a return for presumed dead Vincent Hubbard, Kim's late husband played by Richard Blackwood, who vanished from the show in 2018. It was claimed a few years later that he'd been killed, but could he be making a return? Tameka teased: "If he turns up then he's got to turn up with something in his hands. It's been a long while now. Watch this space people." Tameka then confessed she'd like to see Kim have two men fighting over her like onscreen sister Denise Fox. During the 40th anniversary, viewers got to vote for who Denise ended up with out of Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati. The actress reckons Denise and Jack's reunion was perfect as the pair, who have worked together for years, are like "old slippers". She's now hoping she too will have a similar twist.
