Australia's win over South Africa in the opening T20 clash has been overshadowed by one of the greatest crowd catches ever seen.
Tim David turned on the fireworks early for Australia as they recorded the 17 run win, but it was a man sitting in the front row that stole the show.

In the 12th over of Australia's innings, David pulled a delivery off the bowling of Corbin Bosch that sailed towards the stands.
The low soaring shot saw fans at Marrara Stadium attempt to haul it in, but it was one man who proved he had what it takes.
And to make the catch even better, he did it while holding two beer cans in his other hand.
Yes you've read that correctly, in his right hand he was holding onto two beers before hauling in the catch with his vacant left hand.

A feat for the ages.

Footage of the moment quickly went viral with cricket fans in awe of what the unknown individual had just produced.
Mark Howard on Fox Cricket said: 'A nice snare in the crowd. Two cans in the right hand, the kookaburra in the left. Cool and casual.'
Cricket.com.au wrote on X: 'CALLING IT - BEST CROWD CATCH OF THE YEAR AND IT'S ONLY AUGUST!'
Another wrote: 'Legend status unlocked: Two tinnies, one snare.'
A fourth added: 'Probably the best crowd catch of all time.'
Fans in the area loved it.
On the field it was the Aussies who proved too good against their opponents with Tim David once again leading the way.
Australia found themselves in trouble after their top order failed to deliver any meaningful scoreboard impact.
The Aussies quickly fell to be 3/30 before finding themselves in real strife at 6/75. Then Tim David clicked into gear.
The middle order monster flipped the script and went after the South African bowlers as he sent the white ball to all parts of the ground.
He quickly handed the momentum back to the Aussies as he raced to his half century from only 29 deliveries.
His innings ultimately came to an end in the 18th over when he was caught after scoring 83 runs from 52 balls as Australia finished with 178 runs on the board.
South Africa looked on track to chase down the Aussie total with opener Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs turning the screws with a 72-run partnership.
Josh Hazlewood however put an end to their run when he removed Stubbs after capturing a bottom edge.
Then it all unraveled for the tourists.
Three balls later Hazlewood struck again by catching the outside edge of George Linde with Glenn Maxwell comfortably taking the catch at slip.
Adam Zampa then got in on the action in the next over as he removed Corbin Bosch and Senuran Muthusamy in consecutive deliveries.
A freakish Maxwell juggling catch over the boundary line to remove Rickelton ended South Africa's faint hopes as the visitors finished 9/161.
The second T20 contest will take place on Tuesday from 7:15pm (AEST) at Marrara Stadium, Darwin.

Wallabies flanker Tom Hooper stands by decision to join English club Exeter

Wallabies flanker Tom Hooper has no regrets about signing with English club Exeter despite it possibly costing him his Australian jersey. Hooper, 24, is set to link with Exeter after the conclusion of the Rugby Championship in early October. Despite the scrapping of the Giteau Law, which limited the number of overseas-based Australians allowed to be picked for Wallabies duty, Rugby Australia chief executive officer Phil Waugh last week said domestic players of 'equal' calibre would still be prioritised. While Hooper – who has spent the past five seasons with the ACT Brumbies – is expected to be back playing in Australia in 2027 ahead of that year's Rugby World Cup, he has jeopardised his Wallabies spot for a significant period by joining Exeter. However, he's still comfortable with the decision, which was made seven months ago. 'I still stand by that decision, because I'm going to go over there and improve as a player,' Hooper said from Johannesburg. where the Wallabies will meet world champions South Africa on Sunday morning (AEST). 'I don't have a crystal ball. Unfortunately, I don't know what's going to happen in my future, but I'll just keep making decisions based on being a good rugby player and hopefully playing in that gold jersey, because I absolutely love it. 'Right now I'm just focusing where my feet are, and right now my feet are in South Africa, and I've got a job to do here. 'Soon enough, we'll be back home. I have a job to do there, and then I have a job to do in the Exeter jersey, and I'll pour every little bit of energy that I can into that team, improve as a player, hopefully improve that club, and then whatever my next journey is, I'll do the exact same thing.' Hooper is in top form after producing a man-of-the-match performance in Australia's 22-12 win over the British and Irish Lions in Sydney earlier this month. It was Hooper's first starting appearance for Australia since the 2023 World Cup. Introducing ourselves to the locals ðŸ¾ NEXT MATCH 🆚 Springboks ðŸ—'ï¸ Sunday August 17 | 1:10am AEST ðŸŸï¸ Emirates Airline Park, Johannesburg ðŸ'° @StanSportAU #Wallabies — Wallabies (@wallabies) August 11, 2025 'It was a huge moment,' Hooper said. 'Watching back at the game. I think there was a few other guys that were probably more deserving. They were amazing, but it was definitely a team effort. 'I know it sounds clichéd, but it was just good for me to get back in that starting jersey. It's the first time I've been back there since the World Cup. 'It's been a long road on field and off field. It was pretty special to be out there, and just to get the win, more than anything. 'It was great to get the win with the guys and be a part of a change room that had a great vibe about it.' It's a 'vibe' the Wallabies have brought with them to South Africa. 'You saw throughout that Test series (against the Lions), we were in the business of getting better, and we're just going to continue to strive to do that,' Hooper said. 'It's really nice and calm among the group, but we know we've got a lot to take on board mentally, and then from there, we're just physically working.'

Ray Thomas's best bets, quaddie picks and inside mail for Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday

Form analyst Ray Thomas presents his best bets, quaddie picks and inside mail for the eight-race card on Randwick's Kensington track on Wednesday. • â– â– â– â– â– KENSINGTON TIPS BEST BET Race 4 No.1 AXIUS: Promising four-year-old who comes out of a competitive Saturday grade effort to a winnable Kensington midweek race. NEXT BEST Race 6 No.2 BAT OUT OF HELL: Bursting to win a race after three successive minor placings including a close second at Canterbury last week. VALUE BET Race 2 No.6 OUTER BANKS: He stalked the leaders and finished powerfully to win a recent barrier trial at Warwick Farm impressively. LAY OF THE DAY Race 6 No.10 BARBRAY: Even with the J-Mac tax factored in, $4.80 in early markets seems very short for this gelding who is likely to be back in the ruck on a heavy track. QUADDIE Race 5: 1,2,6,8 Race 6: 1,2,8,10 Race 7: 5,12,13,16 Race 8: 1,3,4 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Braith Nock, Sydney's reigning champion apprentice, has six very good chances including Axius, Autumn Dream and Harry's Bar. TRAINER TO FOLLOW Ciaron Maher has winning hopes in four races including a quartet for the Premier's Cup Prelude – Interpretation, Glory Daze, Royal Supremacy and Cosmic Vega. CANTIAMO (3) was heavily backed into favouritism on debut for the Inglis Nursery last summer when she was slow to begin, showed speed to race through and lead into the straight before tiring late for fifth behind Within The Law. Cantiamo hasn't raced since but has looked impressive at the trials, particularly her Gosford heat win late last month when she stalked the leaders then raced clear in the straight. ARTISTIC VENTURE (1) and AUTUMN BLONDE (2) are resuming after showing promise last season including finishing just behind the placegetters in a blanket finish to the Sweet Embrace Stakes. Both are trialling well. NULLARBOR JANE (9) has race fitness on her side, drawn well and has no weight. BET: CANTIAMO (3) to win. I'm going a little wide here with OUTER BANKS (6) in a tough race. The Peter Snowden-trained gelding was in the market at his only start back in April when he was trapped three-wide without cover and dropped out of contention behind Aerodrome at Warwick Farm. Outer Banks resumes off two smart trials, the most recent when he came from off speed and finished strongly between runners to win an 812 heat at Warwick Farm. Drawn awkwardly and will need luck in running but he's good value at double figure odds. BANKNOTE HUSTLER (3) has drawn wide but monstered his rivals in a recent trial win. SANCTIFIED (1) was stakes placed last season and will be charging home. PORTOFINO (7) could be a big improver. BET: OUTER BANKS (6) each way, box trifecta 1,3,6,7. AUTUMN DREAM (2) romped home third-up at Kembla then stayed at 1600m, struck a wet track, but kept working to the line when fourth at Warwick Farm two weeks ago. The step up to 1800m suits and she's very fit. STING IN THE TAIL (6) went back slightly in trip at Canterbury last week and was outsprinted from the turn before finishing sixth to Seven's. He's on the seven-day back-up and is getting out to his right distance range. TAZIMA (1) has been improved by two runs from a spell and the form out of his last start second has been franked. SUNSET PARK (3) is fitter and will appreciate getting out to 1800m. BET: AUTUMN DREAM (2) to win, saver on Sting In The Tail at odds. AXIUS (1) resumed with a strong win over 1100m here then had excuses when fourth to Yoshinobu at Rosehill. Promising four-year-old who is back in midweek grade and looks placed to advantage after the claim. THE REPLICANT (7) is racing well and comes off a tough win in heavy going at Warwick Farm. JOHNNY THE KID (5) races well fresh while VICTORY LANE (4) handles wet conditions. BET: AXIUS (1) to win. PASSEGGIATA (6) is having her first start for the new stable as she tries to snap a losing streak that stretches more than two years. Speedy mare who handles heavy going, she has looked particularly sharp in two recent Rosehill barrier trial wins. She will be in front for a long way. IRON WILL (2) is another who goes well in heavy conditions and comes off a solid Warwick Farm effort two weeks ago. ARE EE QUE (8) is in very good form and has won four of his five starts on heavy tracks. CAVALLO RAMPANTE (1) is a smart mare and a specialist 1000m sprinter. BET: PASSEGGIATA (6) to win. BAT OUT OF HELL (2) was given the run of the race last week and had his chance when narrowly beaten by the handy Seven's at Canterbury. Bat Out Of Hell is on the back up, he's been placed at his last three starts and is bursting to win a race. This is his chance. NARBOLD (8) comes off a good second to Amusing in Saturday grade, is also working up to a win and handles heavy tracks well. BARBRAY (10) ran well when fourth behind Amusing and Narbold last start and rates highly. CRISTAL CLEAR (1) was competitive when resuming and he did win second-up last time in work. BET: BAT OUT OF HELL (2) to win, box trifecta 1,2,8,10, I'm keen on SALTCOATS (16). He has been improved by two runs from a spell and his effort to close late for third at Listed Level in the Winter Challenge last start is a great pointer for this race. He's getting out to his right distance range and he did win over 1800m when last in work, plus he handles heavy tracks. ESTADIO MESTALLA (5) is very fit, racing well and will get through the wet conditions. ROYAL SUPREMACY (13) was big odds when he won over this course and distance last start but looks an improving type. GLORY DAZE (12) hasn't raced for six weeks but was placed in successive stakes races at 2000m. Tough closer but there was a lot to like about LA ROJA (3) 's effort to run on from back in the field for second to Metaphorically at Canterbury. The Replicant ran third and has since won to frank the form. La Roja is promising, drawn well and is well placed back in fillies and mares grade. HARRY'S BAR (1) was impressive winning in Saturday class and will be hard to beat again. LADY BOSS (4) will run her usual competitive race. SAMARELLE (12) was very strong late to win on debut at Newcastle and looks to have a future.

John Sargent-trained Autumn Blonde gets chance to break maiden at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday

Autumn Blonde, who has form around Golden Slipper winner Marhoona, gets an opportunity to break her maiden status in the Myplates Handicap (1150m) at Kensington on Wednesday. The John Sargent -trained Autumn Blonde went winless in four starts last season but showed natural ability including her third placing at Canterbury last February. The winner that day was Marhoona who trained on to win the Golden Slipper, while the runner-up, Dream Side, was placed at Group 2 level. Raced by leading syndicator James Moss and his Tricolours Syndications and part-owned by The Daily Telegraph editor Ben English, Autumn Blonde followed her Canterbury effort with a very close fourth to Within The Law in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes before failing in the Magic Night Stakes. Sargent said Autumn Blonde had been improved by two recent trials and could sprint well fresh under jockey Dylan Gibbons. 'Autumn Blonde has got ability,'' Sargent said. 'But I'm putting ear muffs on her for the first time as she has been going a bit hard so this might help her to relax. 'We will ride her midfield, hopefully there is a good speed early and she will be hitting the line well.'' Some spring class back to trials with these 2yos 1st - The Playwright (2f Written By x Sugarparma) for @GaiWaterhouse1 G3 Widden S. winner and 4th G1 Blue Diamond last start. Note 4th - Autumn Blonde (2f The Autumn Sun x Tall Blonde) for @jsargentracing. She's got something.… — Breednet (@BreednetNews) July 11, 2025 Sargent has a third of the field in the Kensington opener with Nullarbor Jane and Solar Dance clashing with stablemate Autumn Blonde. 'Nullarbor Jane has no weight (53.5kg after the claim for apprentice Molly Bourke) and has race fitness on her side. She hasn't been far away at her last two starts,'' Sargent said. 'Solar Dance is having her first start but she is well-bred and is out of a Zabeel mare on her dam's side, and I liked her last trial (won at Rosehill). 'She will probably get back from her barrier (eight) but I expect her to be doing her best work late.''
