CREAMY, coffee-soaked, sometimes boozy and always moreish, Tiramisu has taken over UK supermarket shelves.
Brits can't get enough of the Italian dessert which literally translates as 'pick-me-up'.

It has starred in a Love Island episode and Starbucks has just launched three new tiramisu-inspired drinks in its stores.
But when you want an easy pudding to finish off a meal at home - which supermarket tiramisu is best?
I got stuck in to find out. Here's the results...
Lidl's Milbona Tiramasu

Lidl was the only dessert that isn't suitable for vegetarians

Looks-wise, this is a doppelganger for the Sainsbury's tiramisu, with little domes of cream and cocoa on top.
Here, though, the cream layer is heavier and more dairy-tasting than mascarpone. There's a strong coffee smell and nicely-soaked sponge.
It's good value but this is the only tiramisu that isn't veggie-friendly.
It's got beef gelatine in it, which seems a bit unnecessary when the others don't, and will put some buyers off.

There was no booze in the White Rabbit tiramisu

This comes in a dinky little plastic tub, giving off posh picnic vibes.
It's gluten-free, so perfect for coeliacs or anyone on a restricted diet, and has no booze either.
Lacking the classic Marsala wine might upset the tiramisu-purists, but non-drinkers might prefer the taste, which still has a big coffee hit.
The sponge is light and the mascarpone is creamy and smooth, with a decent cocoa top.
And it's expensive compared to all the others on sale: the pot is not really big enough to share so you'd have to spend almost £8 on dessert for four.

Asda Bakery Tiramisu

Asda's dessert has a strong kick of coffee

There's no messing about with this strong coffee kick on Asda's offering.
The sponge layer is not particularly thick, but it is oozing with chocolatey coffee flavour.
The cream layer is another light mascarpone, dusted with cocoa powder and segmented into grids, it looks very professional (you couldn't pass this dish off as your own) and it is indeed made in Italy.
Coming in at a generous 500g, the packaging says this tiramisu serves six but we split it between four and didn't feel overstuffed.

Tesco Finest Coffee & Amaretto Tiramisu

Tesco's dessert was a creamy treat

Thanks to the amaretto, there's big, bold almond flavour in this good-looking dessert.
It's punchy, but light thanks to the super smooth and airy mascarpone cream.
The top, creamy part is melt-in-the-mouth and it definitely dominates.
There's only a thin layer of sponge, so if you love that coffee-soaked base, you might feel short-changed.
There's a good twist of Marsala wine in this dessert, but it doesn't taste particularly boozy, it's more of a creamy, almondy treat than classic tiramisu.
It's from Tesco's Finest range and has quite the price tag at £4.50 but it is tasty and rich, so it does feel fancy.
I'd whip this out for a special occasion or having friends round for dinner.
The dark choc shavings mean you could just about blag this as homemade if you were able to get it out of its container intact.

The Aldi dessert was light on a coffee taste.

Tirami-who? This is more like a Nutella mousse with coffee vibes.
The top layer is chocolate mousse rather than the traditional cream, with crunchy hazelnuts sprinkled throughout, and chocolate chips layered on top.
There's a light coffee taste from the soaked sponge biscuits at the bottom, but it's not dominant.
It's more Ferrero Rocher than Italian macchiato.
This was a delicious, light-tasting summer dessert and probably the most kid-friendly of all the tiramisus.
The individual pots make it a super-convenient, no-washing-up dessert for after a barbecue although for a family or crowd, it'd be pricier than most.

Sainsbury's tiramisu was a winning combination

A deep tub, piped peaks of cream, dusted with cocoa, and great value at just £3 for dessert for all the family - this is the real deal.
The mascarpone is light and sweet, it melts on the tongue, not too boozy but a nice hint of Marsala wine.
The sponge is properly soaked in coffee: oozing with flavour, strong and tasty.
If you want a tiramisu that sticks close to tradition, this one delivers everything you'd want.
Sit in the sun, close your eyes, lift your spoon and you could really believe you're in Tuscany eating an Italian Nonna's best dessert. Delicious.

'It can take the weight of four, we've checked. It's all about keeping the show fresh and exciting. And that's what we've got.' ITV bosses have attempted to give the new villa and series a glam-up to avoid the show being boring. The TV executive also revealed ITV will broadcast intimate activity if and when it happens and that they've had to 'tear up the rule book' this year, after viewing figures have dwindled after years of tame series of the reality show hit. 'The hideaway is open for business for 24 hours all the time, as long as they don't come with their partner,' Mike said. 'We told the islanders last year they could but they kept forgetting they could come in here. We've seen the same things time and time again how and it's boring. We've got to move on. 'It felt static, and the show needs to feel fresh. People that come in, all do the same thing. Because they've all watched it time and time again. It became too formatted. 'We've got to push forward. All the twist and turns, we're going to give it all we've got to make it an exciting series.' Last year the show had a shock entry when TOWIE favourite Joey Essex, 34, entered the villa. Asked if they will be getting another former reality tv star or celebrity in as a contestant this year, Mike said something else will be a surprise. 'No former love islanders are coming in this year,' he said. Something big is coming in week one though. Not another reality star like Joey Essex.' 'We've got a big week one planned. It's not a celebrity, but totally new. It's even different this year the way islanders will couple up. 'You can't rest on people loving the show, we have to keep it exciting. Tear up the rule book a bit. In a bid to create further drama they have also shortened the walls of the iconic terrace, which is often used as a hideaway for bombshells looking to kiss another contestant in more private surroundings. But Mike confirmed the days of hiding away from prying eyes is all over. 'The terrace walls are shorter and more see through now too. So you can see more up there. We just felt like it was too covered up. Extra gossip.' Love Island has often come under fire for only casting ultra-thin singles who have the same body shapes 'year after year'. And even though the contestants of the show are shacked up with each other for up to eight weeks, it's often been criticised for not showing people eating meals and that the absence might encourage eating disorders and unrealistic beauty standards. Despite having their meals cooked for them by private chefs, ITV has previously confirmed the reason for not showing them eating is because mealtimes are considered downtime for the islanders and are not filmed due to technical reasons, like the sounds of eating with microphones. But it can now be revealed that contestants this year will be seen eating in the villa for the first time. 'In this day and age, we need to be showing it,' said the Love Island boss. 'Viewers always ask us where and when the islanders eat lunch and dinner. Well this year you'll see it on camera now.' Mike also said the reason comes as conversations are often heard amongst the islanders that make for good TV. 'There are chats that do happen whilst they eat,' he said. 'It might feature, it might not when it comes to the final edit, but there is a lot of whispering and there always has been. 'Sometimes it will affect how they might know information, because the viewer hasn't seen it. Now they will see it.' Love Island's 2025 lineup has already been mocked after unveiling 'clones' of previous stars. Love Island producers - who have long been accused of lacking diversity in their casting - seemed to be sticking to 'their type on paper' as they opted for new stars who bear striking resemblance to past contestants. Netflix fans rush to binge Italian crime thriller with John Wick star
Netflix viewers are racing through all six episodes of the gritty new Italian thriller, Sara: Woman In The Shadows. The recently added show, directed by Carmine Elia, stars Teresa Saponangelo and Claudia Gerini, the latter of whom is known for playing Gianna D'Antonio in John Wick: Chapter 2. 'The suspicious death of her son pushes a former secret agent [the titular Sara played by Teresa] back into action, investigating a series of crimes that grow increasingly sinister,' the synopsis of the series, based on the crime novel series by Maurizio de Giovanni, reads. Sara's last job dubbed her 'the invisible woman' for her immaculate skill set and ability to lip-read and she brings her all to this latest mystery – to uncover what happened to her son. The description concludes: 'While discovering details of her son's life that she knew almost nothing about, Sara sinks into an investigation that brings her back to many ghosts of her past. The twist is both shocking and brilliantly executed, tying up loose ends while leaving room for reflection on Sara's journey. A must-watch for crime drama enthusiasts!' TheAnchorAgent wrote on X. I'm scarred for life from terrifying accident but I'm going to prove it not all about looks, says Love Island's Sophie
FORMER fire-breather Sophie Lee said she's going to prove that Love Island is not just about looks after being left scarred for life following a terrifying accident. The brave star, 28, hopes to use her time in the villa to spread awareness about body positivity. 4 4 4 Sophie's life was changed when she was just 22, after a fire-breathing accident left her with significant burns. The incident took place whilst she was performing in Chicago, when an air-conditioner blew the flames she was expelling back towards her. Sophie told The Sun and other press that the ITV2 dating show is more than just about bikini bodies and glam looks. She said: "[It should be about] all beauty. Even my Mum, she asked me, 'What if this bombshell comes in? How you gonna feel about that?' I'm like, 'Well, this is what I signed up for, love!' They're gonna be stunning." The influencer revealed the real reason why she turned down the opportunity to appear on Love Island in previous years. She shared: "Body confidence for me has been something I've worked on. "This is a show, which is why I had to make this a big choice of mine, in terms of thinking about all these things: am I ready? Am I in a part of my life where I'm confident? That's why previously, when I've been approached to do the show, I said no, because I wasn't ready." Motivational speaker Sophie said she has spent the last few years working on herself and rebuilding her confidence. "I didn't feel good in myself. I still had a lot of inner work to do on me," she continued. Love Island 2025: Top villa snog spots "Now, I'm in a part of my life where I feel like I'm the woman that I'm meant to be. "I'm proud that I can say, 'I'm confident, I feel beautiful.' I think beauty is not just about what you look like. "You can wear a bin bag but feel beautiful. "It's more about how I'm feeling on the inside, and right now, I feel like I'm at my best. "I feel like I'm in a part of my life where I can handle rejection. I can handle if things aren't for me, because they're just not my person, that's OK." The star, from Manchester, previously opened up to The Sun about the terrifying incident. She said: 'The air-con was too strong so when I blew the fire out it blew back to me. It set me on fire. I just remember being in so much pain, I blacked out for a little bit. It's crazy. 'It happened in front of everyone and I had to get on with it as professionally and quickly as I could. As soon as I got into the ambulance, I was in bits." She added: That was a scary, scary time. I couldn't breathe by myself, I couldn't eat, I couldn't really see, it was scary. I was pretty out of it but on day two I looked in the mirror and just cried.' Sophie spent a month in an intensive care clinic in America, before battling with a tumour which began growing on the side of her face. Becoming an activist Sophie has used her own experiences to become an activist, spreading awareness about unfair beauty standards and the importance of body positivity. She said: 'Life since the accident is definitely something I didn't expect because I just see myself as someone who went through something and thought my story could help others. 'My aim was never to get awards or receive that type of attention. With the platform I have now, I feel like I have not only a responsibility to others but a responsibility to myself to be a better person everyday and to always be evolving. 'If people were to take a message from my story I'd say that beauty is always skin deep and your life is perfect just as it is. 'You just need to be yourself and accepting of life's roller coaster so love your perfectly imperfect life.' She has worked extensively with Katie Piper's charity and even wrote a book entitled In My Skin.
