Speaking to ANI, Philip Green stated, 'Yoga is one of those features that Australians think about as core to India's culturey, Yoga is one of India's gifts to the world, and this is an opportunity for us to remind ourselves of that, but also to recall how valuable yoga can be in one's everyday practise. It's growing in prominence in Australia, and I think this International Day will only serve to cause it to grow more.'
EAM Jaishankar said that he and the diplomatic corps performed yoga in Delhi's Nehru Park on Saturday. Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks, he said the yoga session was a true reflection of Yoga for everyone, beyond boundaries, age, backgrounds or ability.

According to a United Nations statement, yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind, and fosters a heightened sense of awareness and responsibility in daily life. This mindfulness allows one to choose healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
In 2014, the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. The draft resolution establishing the International Day of Yoga was proposed by India and endorsed by a record 175 member states. Lalit Modi: ‘Someone else took SAT exams for me to pass college entrance… was born with diamond spoon'
The mastermind behind the Indian Premier League (IPL), Lalit Modi, who is currently living in exile in Sardinia, has opened up about what he called a 'tough' childhood growing up, even though he himself said that he was born with the proverbial 'diamond spoon' in his mouth. Modi was interviewed by former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke for the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast, where the former IPL Commissioner opened up about the league, his personal life and many other things. Modi started by talking about his early school life. 'I was born with a diamond spoon. Not a silver spoon, not a gold spoon, but with a diamond spoon. And so I always grew up having everything. I went to boarding school at the age of five. It was tough. I went to seven different boarding schools, by the way,' Modi told Clarke in the podcast. 'It was very tough. My grandfather was very strict. My father was very strict. I came up with a very strict upbringing.' Modi also revealed that he had actually paid someone else to take the SATs (Scholastic Assessment Test, which is a standardized test used in the USA for college admissions) for him. 'I was always the black sheep of the family and I always broke every rule in the book because I always wanted more and more and more. It wasn't easy, you know? I went to seven different schools. I finally ended up in Delhi and I flunked the 12th exam. But I fudged myself because I wanted to go to America, because I wanted to go there and party. I had to get into college. And I got into every college. Somebody did my SATs for me. I got 1560 on 1600. It was my name and his picture. We got away with it in those days. You can't today. When I went to college again I went to a place in North Carolina called Duke University. I was probably one of the very few Indians that were there and I never lived away from home as such outside the country. I was in boarding school so I knew how to make my bed. I knew how to live and look after myself from the age of five. But what made a difference was you went from a world in India to a totally developed first world America,' Modi added. Modi said that in his early days in university he would face questions about life back in India. He said he would be asked if there were vehicles in India or people used bullock carts. He said he had learnt to look the other way in the face of such derogatory questions. 'I got used to that, being picked on. I wasn't very well built. I had to fend for myself and I didn't have bodyguards and things like that in those days. So best thing was just give in and look the other way and move on and that taught me a lot,' he said.

Speaking at a press briefing here in the national capital, Babushkin underscored the strategic importance of the dialogue, signalling hope for the revival of the trilateral format amid the growing global issues, particularly on the backdrop of the economic complexities due to the US's tariff imposition. "As far as the three-letter is concerned, we are quite hopeful that this format will be resumed sooner rather than later because its importance is not questioned. But we should wait until the right time comes. We would welcome these developments because they proved their efficiency when we had regular interaction at the ministerial level and even at the leaders' level," he stated."It is all about the regional stability of the region, which is mostly dependent on how the relations between the three countries, the largest countries in the region, Russia, India and China, are developing," he was referring to the RIC framework, initiated in the late 1990s among the three largest countries in the region. The agenda was a diversified one. We are absolutely not about to link it to just one particular question. We talk about the restoration of relations between Russia and the US. And for that, rebuilding trust is one of the most significant tasks," he also mentioned reports, based on US President Trump's assessments, that suggested the US may reconsider imposing an additional 25 per cent tariff on India for New Delhi purchase of Russian oil; however, he noted that these reports were still unconfirmed."And as far as we heard here in the mission after this meeting, which was, according to assessments by President Trump, very successful and very positive, I think I heard that he decided not to impose an extra 25 per cent on India, according to media reports. This robust cooperation has strengthened across several domains. We are expecting a U.S. Defence Policy Team to be in Delhi in mid-August. The 21st edition of the joint military exercise - 'Yudh Abhyas' is also expected to take place later this month in Alaska. Both sides remain engaged to convene the 2+2 Intersessional meeting at the working-level towards the end of this month. As far as the question of defence acquisition is concerned, the procurement process continues as per established procedures." Previously, in July, the top defence officials from India and the United States held key bilateral talks during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025, where they explored ways to deepen strategic military cooperation, regional security coordination, and operational readiness in the Indo-Pacific. The discussions focused on enhancing defence collaboration, including future operational opportunities and joint efforts to uphold peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, according to the Integrated Defence Staff.
