Telugu movies releasing in theaters this week
1. Sri Sri Sri Raja Vaaru
Release date: June 6, 2025
Sri Sri Sri Raja Vaaru appears to be a gripping rural action-drama. The story follows a fearless young man, played by Narne Nithiin, who grows up deeply in love with his childhood sweetheart, portrayed by Sampada. Their bond seems unshakable until their families suddenly call off the wedding.
The reason behind the cancellation remains unclear and hidden, creating tension between the lovers and their elders. His actions set off a chain of intense events that challenge tradition, test loyalty, and ignite confrontations.

The film follows the humorous tale of a happy-go-lucky tailor and his playful barber friend. Both live life without much seriousness, often stirring up small troubles with their pranks and laziness. Their days are filled with laughter and mischief, but things take a sudden turn when one of their antics lands them in serious trouble.
A run-in with the police throws their carefree world into chaos. As they try to escape one blunder after another, their journey becomes a whirlwind of comical events and unexpected twists. From hiding secrets to facing consequences, the duo's bond is tested in hilarious ways. Along the way, they meet quirky characters and find themselves in outrageous situations. Pawan Kalyan's fantasy epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu finally makes its streaming debut. Here's when and where to watch
Pawan Kalyan's latest release, 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', is finally making its way to streaming after its theatrical run. The Telugu period adventure epic directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyoti Krishna was the much-anticipated release for Pawan Kalyan, since taking over as Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister. Hari Hara Veera Mallu had a stacked cast consisting of Bobby Deol, Anupam Kher, and Nidhi Agarwal, among several known others, and the mythological fantasy elements promised a stellar big-screen experience. However, the film found little critical acclaim on releasing. The dubbed versions in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam will also be available on Prime Video. Amazon Prime took to their official Twitter handle just hours before the film's streaming debut to post, 'A tale of rebellion, rage, and righteousness. The storm that started in theatres now takes over your screens.' The movie dropped on the platform at midnight on August 20 and took social media by surprise with the sudden announcement. As often is the case with big-ticket Telugu movies, Hari Hara Veera Mallu too had a short theatrical window and is hitting the home screens in under a month from its big screen run. The film garnered mostly cold responses at the time of its release and was heavily criticized for its shoddy VFX work and clumsy storytelling. Hari Hara Veera Mallu tells the story of an outlaw who sets out to hunt down Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb's 'Kohinoor' diamond. The action epic did not live up to its pre-release hype and ended up underperforming in theatres. The OTT release will finally give a section of the fans of the superstar to catch up with this lesser-seen action spectacle.

Actor Mahesh Babu's NGO Mahesh Babu Foundation gets FCRA nod
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has granted registration to Telugu actor Mahesh Babu's NGO, Mahesh Babu Foundation, under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010, to receive donations from foreign countries. An MHA official said earlier this month that they have granted FCRA registration to the Mahesh Babu Foundation. After granting this, MHA has granted FCRA registration to 389 organisations. Mahesh Babu, who entered the film industry in the late 1990s, has been an influential celebrity, actively supporting surgeries for children with heart ailments and is vocal about causes like education for girls and women's empowerment. The Foundation has been providing financial assistance to families with newborn babies with heart ailments, helping poor children afford education, and adopting and developing villages into smart villages. 'Mahesh Babu was inspired to start the foundation after the birth of his son Gautam, who was born prematurely and had to be treated in the NICU for several days. Mahesh Babu's motivation to support hospitalization and treatment for children came from the fact that there are families who cannot afford expensive treatments. He has funded over 2000+ heart surgeries in collaboration with Andhra Hospitals and Rainbow Hospitals,' it said. A query has been sent to Mahesh Babu Foundation, based in Hyderabad, Telangana, and its response is awaited. Data shows that of the approximately 16,248 organisations that have received FCRA registration, 20,724 have been cancelled, and 15,068 have been deemed expired to date. State-wise breakup of all types of FCRA associations shows that the highest number of FCRA registrations is in Tamil Nadu with 6,735, followed by Maharashtra with 5,424, Andhra Pradesh with 4,264, West Bengal with 4,243, and Karnataka with 3,851. In May, MHA had amended the rules under the FCRA, and henceforth, NGOs engaged in publication-related activities and receiving foreign contributions will not be able to publish any newsletter and must get a certificate from the Registrar of Newspapers for India stating that it does not circulate any news content. In a notification, the ministry said under the amended rules, NGOs seeking permission to receive foreign funding must give an undertaking that they will adhere to the Good Practice Guidelines of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
