North Carolina man wins $2 million after buying lottery ticket at gas station
RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — Michael McKen, of Durham, bought a $20 scratch-off and won a $2 million top prize, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.
McKen bought his winning 100X The Cash ticket from Light House Food Mart on Buck Jones Road in Raleigh.

When McKen arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday to collect his winnings, he could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $100,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $1.2 million.
He chose the lump sum of $1.2 million.
After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $861,006.

Hudson Market Basket sells $2M winning Powerball ticket
A winning Powerball ticket worth $2 million was purchased at Market Basket on Lowell Road in Hudson for the May 31 drawing. The ticket, originally a $1 million winner, was doubled by a Power Play multiplier, resulting in a $2 million jackpot win. 'Another big Powerball winner in New Hampshire! What an exciting time for us here at the New Hampshire Lottery,' said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. 'Congratulations to Market Basket in Hudson for the sale, and to our big winner. We'll be eagerly awaiting your arrival at Lottery headquarters to hand over that big prize. The only question that remains is who's next?' The winning numbers from the Powerball drawing on Saturday, May 31, were: 01-29-37-56-68 PB-13.
