Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Zoe Wanamaker handed driving bans together over speeding charges
Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the film franchise, was caught out by a camera in Oxford last July, while Wanamaker - Madam Hooch in the Potter series – broke the limit in Newbury last August.
Both erstwhile wizards were sentenced on Wednesday in the same courtroom at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court.
Watson admitted driving her blue Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford, on the evening of July 31 last year.
The 35-year-old, who has been studying at the University of Oxford, was banned for six months and made to pay a total of £1,044 in fines and court fees.
Her lawyer Mark Haslam told the court that she is a student, adding: 'She is in a position to pay the fine.'
Wanamaker, who starred alongside Watson in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone in 2001, was caught speeding on August 7, 2024, on the M4 in Newbury, Berkshire.
The 76-year-old My Family star drove her blue Volvo at 46mph in a 40mph limit, the court heard.
She was also told to pay £1,044, together with a six-month ban.
Wanamaker's lawyer Duncan Jones said that she was not asking for 'special treatment' and accepted the fine.
District Judge Arvind Sharma was told that both Watson and Wanamaker separately had nine points on their driving licences before their latest offences.
Three extra penalty points put them in line for an automatic ban.
Neither actress attended their short hearings.

Vernon Kay hits back ‘how stupid do you think I am' after Tess Daly question
Radio presenter Vernon Kay joked 'how stupid do you think I am' when discussing a segment on his show about people who give their partners the 'ick'. Co-star Tina Daheley posed the question after reading the news on Vernon's BBC Radio 2 show yesterday (Friday, August 8). Vernon's co-star tried to explain the concept of the 'ick' by describing it as bad habits that "drive you mad". Examples included not putting the toilet seat down, eating loudly, laughing at your own jokes and the way they talk to their mum. He said: "How stupid do you think I am? Behave yourself. I'm full of a cold. I've got the flu. I've got a bit icky myself. "I'm looking forward to a nice quiet weekend. I don't want to have a nice, quiet weekend on my own." Tina quickly clarified that she was asking if Tess has any 'icks' about him, with Vernon retorting: "Oh, there's loads." Vernon, 51, and Tess, 56, tied the knot in 2003. They share daughters Phoebe, 20, and 15-year-old Amber. It comes after the TV and radio star admitted he was mocked by staff in a supermarket over a "senior moment" as he was almost "done for thieving'. He was doing some shopping in an unnamed supermarket earlier this week when he was shocked to realise he had not paid for his food. Fortunately for Vernon he had only just left the store and was able to return and sheepishly apologise for his transgression. Vernon told the story on his radio show: 'I had a senior moment this morning, it could have got me into trouble. I went to a very famous supermarket which is in Marylebone Station and I scanned my food, walked out. 'I went, 'Ah!' Could have been horrendous, could have been absolutely horrendous and the lady, when I walked back, she was just absolutely laughing her head off. She went, 'I saw you, didn't say anything because I knew you'd realise'. 'It was so funny, imagine that, shocking, but it was one of those things where I just scanned my food and wondered off, didn't even think about it because I thought I'd tapped, I hadn't. You know you're old when you get done for thieving.' Vernon got his big television break as a presenter on T4 back in 2000. His other major credits include All Star Family Fortunes and as a co-presenter on the short-lived reality TV show Splash! He also came third in season 20 of I'm A Celebrity.... Get Me Out of Here! The series, held in Wales rather than the Australian jungle due to Covid-19, saw podcaster Giovanna Fletcher win with Radio 1 presenter Jordan North finishing runner-up.

Warning over 'agitators' after rival protests clash outside Altrincham asylum seeker hotel
A council leader from Nigel Farage's Reform UK party has warned that protests outside asylum hotels could be 'hijacked by agitators'. More protests outside hotels housing asylum seekers are set to take place across the country this weekend following a large demonstration in Greater Manchester last night (August 8). Anti-migrant protesters and anti-racism counter-protesters are expected to gather in Warickshire this afternoon (August 9) following allegations of a 'cover-up' about suspects charged over an alleged rape. Demonstrations are also expected in Bristol, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Leicester and Birmingham among others, according to Stand Up To Racism. It comes after rival groups of protesters clashed outside Cresta Court hotel in Altrincham on Friday evening (August 8). READ MORE: New York's Times Square shooting: 'Bodies on the ground as multiple people shot' READ MORE: Tragedy as man dies at Manchester Airport Hundreds of people attended the demonstration outside the hotel in Church Street where there was a large police presence. People inside the hotel could be seen looking outside their windows as protesters gathered on either side of the road with those facing the building waving UK and English and chanting 'save our kids', 'send them home' and 'traitors' towards counter-protesters. There were some physical confrontations and several alleged assaults, including of a TV news reporter, were reported to the police. A handful of people were arrested as other demonstrations took place in Canary Wharf in London and Epping in Essex too. A large turnout is now expected in the Warwickshire town of Nuneaton where a demonstration is taking place after two men, reportedly Afghan asylum seekers, were charged by Warwickshire Police over the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl in the town. Warwickshire County Council's new Reform UK leader George Finch and Mr Farage, who leads his party, claimed there had been a 'cover-up' of details about the alleged rape case by authorities. Mr Finch, who is the youngest council leader in the country, has urged people to act in a 'peaceful manner'. He said: 'While the right to peaceful protest is a fundamental right, I am deeply concerned about the risk for these events to be hijacked by agitators who seek to cause disorder and division within our community. 'In other towns, we have seen examples of these protests resulting in violence to police and damage to property.' Stand Up To Racism called on its supporters to hold 'stop the far right' counter protests in 10 towns and cities on Saturday, also including Leeds, Newark, Exeter and Cannock. On Friday night, two people were arrested outside the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf and two were detained near the Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex. The Metropolitan Police said: 'One person protesting against the use of the hotel by asylum seekers has been arrested after a bottle was thrown at officers. 'A member of the counter-protest group has been arrested for failing to remove a face covering.' Multiple demonstrations have been held in Epping since July 13, after an asylum seeker was charged with allegedly attempting to kiss a 14-year-old girl. Essex Police said the latest protest on Friday passed off 'peacefully', though one man was arrested after an officer was struck by an object, while another was arrested on suspicion of breaching court bail conditions. And in Altrincham, a GB News journalist complained to police after she was struck by a placard while attempting to interview anti-racism protesters. Sophie Reaper, the channel's North West reporter, said in a post on X: 'We went to the Stand Up To Racism counter-protest to offer them the chance to tell their side on GB News – instead I was hit in the head by a metal pole.' A spokesman for GB News confirmed Ms Reaper was fine following the incident and that she had reported the matter to police.

Read more from Sky News Paying tribute to him in a statement issued by police on Thursday, Mr Brown's family said he had a "heart of gold" and "was always ready to help others". "We are truly devastated that Rob has been taken from us, but reading all the tributes on social media has provided some source of comfort," it read. "It is lovely to know just how many people knew Rob and enjoyed his company. "We will always miss his chirpy banter, but we know there are many happy memories to share and talk about." Northamptonshire Police's Detective Inspector Torie Harrison added: "We are now more than a week on since Robert's death and we continue to follow various lines of enquiry to establish what happened.
