Old Video Of Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif Staring At Actor Mawra Hocane Goes Viral

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has hit the headlines, not for the right or political reasons. An old video in which Mr Sharif appears to be looking at and observing actress Mawra Hocane at a public event has surfaced on social media.
The 14-second clip, believed to be from a 2023 awards function, has been widely shared on X, with many describing the moment as a "deep scan."
In the video, Mr Sharif is looking at Ms Hocane from head to toe after handing her an award during the ceremony at the Governor House in Punjab, Pakistan. "Apparently Shehbaz Sharif is not that Sharif," read the caption of the video.

The video quickly went viral on social media, with some users sharing memes and poking fun at the Prime minister's behaviour; others criticised and called his demeanour inappropriate.

Ms Hocane, along with other Pakistani actors such as Fawad Khan and Hania Amir, recently came under scrutiny for publicly criticising India's Operation Sindoor. The military retaliation came two weeks after a terror attack killed 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. The next few days were tense along the Line of Control (LoC), with Pakistan sending a barrage of drones in Poonch, Uri and Amritsar and Indian defence systems successfully intercepting them. The two countries then agreed to cease firing on May 10 after their Director General Of Military Operations (DGMO) held talks.
Mawra Hocane made her Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam, opposite Harshvardhan Rane, in 2016. Following her critical comments, she was removed from the poster of the film. She was also being considered for the sequel to the film, but after the rising tensions between the two neighbouring countries, she was dropped.
Harshvardhan Rane also said that he would step back from the film if she remained a part of it. His decision came after she referred to his move as a PR strategy.

Troops, weapons and surveillance units can now move seamlessly – no more seasonal delays or logistical gaps. Hidden Checkmate This 'Chenab Chakravyuh' – as called by military strategists – is a geo-strategic snare apart from being about connectivity. With 24/7 surveillance cameras, anti-corrosion technologies and blast-resistant materials, the bridge is built to withstand earthquakes of 8.0 magnitude and even terrorist bombing attempts. 'They tried to divide us by using religion and terror. We are responding with steel, resolve and railways,' said a senior Indian Army official deployed in the region. Built with inputs from Indian Institute of Technology and the Defence Research, the Development Organisation (DRDO) and global experts, the Chenab Bridge uses high-tensile steel and advanced cable-crane systems. It is designed to last 120 years even under wind speeds of 260 kmph. And with two Vande Bharat trains flagged off from Katra to Srinagar, civilian integration of the region is now irreversible. What rattles Rawalpindi most is that this is blocking terrorists and rendering their long-game obsolete. For years, Pakistan has exploited difficult terrain and porous routes to fuel unrest in the valley. That door just slammed shut. Even Pakistan Field Marshal Asim Munir must now contend with the fact that Pir Panjal no longer favours infiltration, it favours India.

Gujarat Congress general secy held over post on Opration Sindoor
The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary, Rajesh Soni, was on Friday arrested by the Gujarat Police Cyber Crime Cell over an alleged objectionable social media post on Operation Sindoor, officials said even as GPCC president Shaktisinh Gohil criticised the move. According to police officials, Soni allegedly made disparaging statements about the Armed Forces in his post. Cyber Crime Cell Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Sharma told The Indian Express, 'Soni was booked under BNS Sections 152 (endangering the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India) and 353 (making, publishing or circulating statements that could lead to public mischief) for demoralising the army.' SP Sharma confirmed that earlier in the day, Soni was detained from his home in Ahmedabad and subsequently placed under arrest. He was produced before court, which then sent him to judicial custody. Demanding 'immediate bail' from Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for 'social leader and political activist' Rajeshbhai T Soni, GPCC president Shaktisinh Gohil said, 'Last night, just like a terrorist is being caught, Rajeshbhai T Soni was arrested by Gandhinagar Cyber Crime. If we look at the post, the only thing that is clear is that the soldiers of our brave army should get credit for the bravery they have shown and the money from the public treasury should not be used for publicity and … political gains should not be taken in the name of Operation Sindoor.' Soni had uploaded around three to four posts on social media platforms on Operation Sindoor. 'This has been in the minds of all the citizens of the country that the credit for the brave work done by our army should go to them. Seeing the way the government is doing publicity, they have expressed their concern that the soldiers will not get credit. If they only raise their voice for the army or express their concern that they will not get credit, how can it be a crime?' Gohil said. He further said, 'The Supreme Court recently took note of the government's policy of filing cases through misuse of the Gujarat Police and severely criticised the police. I hope the police use wisdom…Rajeshbhai Soni is not a terrorist… he should be released immediately. The entire country and Congress are on the side of the army.' Gohil also put out his statement on the microblogging site X, saying: 'The whole country and the Congress are in favor of the army. If it is a crime to take the side of the army only, then all the Congress workers including me will post and raise their voices in favor of the army. if they have courage, then the government should put all of us in jail.' Gohil's post tagging Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, Gujarat Police stated, 'When late Manmohan Singh ji was the Prime Minister, many BJP leaders and supporters used to write false things at will, but the Congress government at the Centre or the states did not try to curb the fundamental freedom of expression or register a case' Gohil demanded immediate bail for the political functionary.
