Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has hit the headlines, not for the right or political reasons. An old video in which Mr Sharif appears to be looking at and observing actress Mawra Hocane at a public event has surfaced on social media.
The 14-second clip, believed to be from a 2023 awards function, has been widely shared on X, with many describing the moment as a "deep scan."
In the video, Mr Sharif is looking at Ms Hocane from head to toe after handing her an award during the ceremony at the Governor House in Punjab, Pakistan. "Apparently Shehbaz Sharif is not that Sharif," read the caption of the video.

Ms Hocane, along with other Pakistani actors such as Fawad Khan and Hania Amir, recently came under scrutiny for publicly criticising India's Operation Sindoor. The military retaliation came two weeks after a terror attack killed 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. The next few days were tense along the Line of Control (LoC), with Pakistan sending a barrage of drones in Poonch, Uri and Amritsar and Indian defence systems successfully intercepting them. The two countries then agreed to cease firing on May 10 after their Director General Of Military Operations (DGMO) held talks.
Mawra Hocane made her Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam, opposite Harshvardhan Rane, in 2016. Following her critical comments, she was removed from the poster of the film. She was also being considered for the sequel to the film, but after the rising tensions between the two neighbouring countries, she was dropped.
Harshvardhan Rane also said that he would step back from the film if she remained a part of it. His decision came after she referred to his move as a PR strategy.

Madras High Court backs Rajinikanth's Coolie in fight against potential leak and piracy; directs BSNL, Airtel, Jio to block websites streaming pirated copies

With just hours remaining for the first-day-first-show (FDFS) of director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Rajinikanth-led Coolie, one of the most anticipated Indian movies of the year, a 'Thalaivar fever' has gripped the country, and fans are all set to mark the occasion with customary excitement. Given that Coolie marks the first collaboration between one of the biggest stars in the country and one of the most successful filmmakers in contemporary Indian cinema, audience expectations are at an all-time high. In fact, the makers have already managed to ensure that the massive hype translates into box office business, with Coolie clocking far better advance booking figures compared to Rajinikanth's most recent films. As of 1 pm on Wednesday, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial's advance booking gross stands at Rs 28.4 crore (Rs 37.31 crore including block seats), compared to Vettaiyan's (2024) Rs 15.22 crore, Jailer's (2023) Rs 18.24 crore, Annaatthe's (2021) Rs 23.25 crore and Darbar's (2020) Rs 23.7 crore. Thus, it is almost certain that the movie will deliver Rajinikanth's highest opening day collection. Now it remains to be seen if Coolie will be able to break the release day record set by 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo (2023), helmed by Lokesh himself, which opened to a thunderous Rs 148 crore worldwide. Meanwhile, production house Sun Pictures has gone all out to ensure that nothing impedes the expected smashing run of the big-budget actioner at the box office. Recently, it moved the Madras High Court as a precautionary measure to safeguard the movie from piracy. On Monday, The Hindu reported, the HC passed an order restraining 36 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) located across the country from permitting 'rogue websites' to stream pirated versions of the film. The ex-parte injunction was granted against ISPs like Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Bharti Airtel, Tata Communications, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and Reliance Communication, among others. It has mandated ISPs to prevent copyright infringement of the movie by blocking not only existing websites but also any future sites that might stream pirated versions of Coolie. The production company has also procured a similar order against five cable television networks. Also starring Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj, as well as Aamir Khan in a cameo role, Coolie boasts music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj. The movie will hit the screens on August 14.

Sushmita Sen opens up about meeting Donald Trump while recalling her Miss Universe franchise days: 'He's not...

Sushmita Sen, India's first Miss Universe and a celebrated actor, has recently opened up about a chapter of her life few knew in detail, her time managing the Miss India Universe franchise between 2010 and 2012. Speaking during promotions for her series Aarya, she revealed that the offer came out of the blue. 'The Miss Universe Organisation called me, and said, 'Would you like to take the franchise?' I was like, 'What? Really? That was like a dream!'' she recalled. It was, however, a dream laced with complications. The pageant was then owned by Donald Trump, which she admits 'didn't make it easy or fun.' Was Donald Trump her boss? While Trump was the franchise owner, Sushmita clarified that he was not her direct superior. 'Luckily, the only people who were my boss at that time were Paramount Communications and Madison Square Garden, because they owned Miss Universe when I was an employee of Miss Universe for a year. I was a franchise owner for Donald Trump.' She did meet Trump during that period, but she refused to dwell on him. 'The point is that it doesn't matter,' she said, before adding her candid impression: 'There are some people who leave an impression, not necessarily because of their achievements or power. Just for the people that they are. He is not one of them.' The Trump era of Miss Universe Donald Trump owned the Miss Universe Organisation from 1996 to 2015, a time when he was still best known as a business tycoon and TV personality. He later became the 45th President of the United States in 2017 and, after losing the 2020 election, returned to win the 2024 race, taking office again in January 2025. From Miss Universe to the big screen Sushmita's own Miss Universe win in 1994 was a watershed moment for India, making her the first Indian woman to wear the crown. The victory propelled her into modelling and Bollywood, where she became known for her elegance, wit, and strong screen presence. After a break from acting, she made a celebrated comeback with the series Aarya, followed by Taali, in which she played transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant — a performance that drew critical praise. Sushmita's account of her time with the franchise offers a rare peek into the glamour and grit of beauty pageants, the corporate layers behind them, and the personalities who shaped that world — for better or worse.
