The L.A. Times News Quiz this week: L.A. FireAid and Beyoncé's big night at the Grammys
Welcome to the Los Angeles Times News Quiz. Your quizmaster Adam Tschorn here, back with another 10 handcrafted, multiple-choice, California-leaning questions to test your recall of the stories that have appeared in print or online in the pages of The Times over the previous seven days.
This week, we're heavy on the pop culture and the politics. In the first category we dive into L.A.'s FireAid benefit concert, revisit Beyoncé's big night at the Grammy Awards (even she was surprised) and quiz you about the Emmy-winning actor turning up in the new 'Fantastic Four' movie. In the second category, we're looking at the new secretary of State's first overseas trip, the high-profile politician who just signed with CAA and the recent freeway-closing protests in downtown L.A.
We've also got some game-show shenanigans, a blockbuster Lakers trade and a big old black bear to round things out. If those topics sound familiar, then you should do just fine.
Are you ready to have some fun? I am. Let's get started.

Dakota Johnson Recently Worked With Her First Intimacy Coordinator: 'It's Not Sexy'
Despite her decade-long tenure as a leading lady, Dakota Johnson has had to do a lot of the heavy onscreen lifting without any help. The Materialists star joked she's 'always psyched up' for sex scenes as she recently opened up about working with an intimacy coordinator the first time in her career on a movie she recently filmed. More from Deadline Dakota Johnson Delivers Damning Diagnosis On Hollywood's Risk-Aversion: 'It's All A Bit Of A Mess' 'Materialists' Review: Dakota Johnson Measures Value Of Love Between Chris Evans And Pedro Pascal in Celine Song's Sublime Romcomdram 'Rivals' Author Jilly Cooper Gives View On Intimacy Coordinators Ahead Of Disney+ Comedy-Drama's Second Season 'And she was really great,' raved Johnson on the Good Hang podcast. 'It was so cool because I'm so used to—you know, it's a sex scene. It's not sexy. It doesn't feel good. In addition to some of the more absurd aspects of filming a sex scene, like 'slamming myself into a headboard,' Johnson detailed for host Amy Poehler what goes into preparing to film an intimate sequence. 'First, I think it depends on, who is the character, and who is the character supposed to be to the audience,' she explained. 'Is she a super idolized hot girl? Is she a housewife? Is she lonely? Is she scared? Is she conservative?' Johnson continued, 'So, that's obviously character work, but then certain prep would go into it. I want to feel good in my body if I'm showing my body. My mom raised me to be really, really proud of my body and love my body. So, I've always felt so grateful for that, especially in my work because I can use it and it feels real.' Since her breakout role in 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation, Johnson has come to appreciate the importance of a good sex scene as the romantic lead of films like How to Be Single (2016), Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022), Am I OK? (2022), Persuasion (2022) and Splitsville, which debuted last month at Cannes. 'So, I guess in my work, it's something that I feel brave with and that I feel, when it's used the right way in a story, it's important,' said Johnson, whose latest film Materialists is now in theaters. Emma Heming Willis reveals why she been left feeling 'profoundly sad' by Father's Day
Emma Heming Willis has been left feeling "profoundly sad" by Father's Day. The 46-year-old model is married to Hollywood star Bruce Willis - who was previously diagnosed with Frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a degenerative disease, which causes behavioural changes and communication difficulties - and she took to social media on Sunday (15.06.25) to thank him for the way he continues to "show up" for his children despite his health woes. She wrote on Instagram: "Happy Father's Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them. What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present. This photo says so much. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes. "But to be fair to myself, these symbolic days stir up a lot. I'm profoundly sad today. I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family. Emma has Mabel, 13, and 11-year-old Evelyn with the Die Hard star - who also has Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and 31-year-old Tallulah with his ex-wife Demi Moore - and she acquiesced that the situation "is what it is" as she admitted that she is determined not to "fight it" in the way she did initially. She said: As they say in our FTD community, 'It is what it is.' And while that might sound dismissive, to me, it's not. It grounds me. It helps me return to the acceptance of what is and not fight this every step of the way like I used to. "Today, let's celebrate the badass dads, those who are here, and those we carry with us [blue heart emojji]. Onward."

Hailey Bieber Shares Pic of Baby Jack‘s Newest Adorable Accessory
On Saturday, Hailey Bieber shared a pic of her son, Jack, showing off his new baby accessories. In the close up photo of Jack's hand exploring his environment, a purple plastic gate, he is wearing a thin gold chain bracelet with his own initials: 'JBB.' The bracelet is an Alison Lou Baby Enamel ID Bracelet, personalized for Jack Blues Bieber. On the same day, Justin Bieber shared some photos on his timeline where he's carrying Jack around the house. In the pics, Jack is wearing colorful red pants and a gray long-sleeved shirt with a sports team logo. His dad has on a red Balenciaga shirt and a pair of neon green shorts. In late May, Hailey opened up to Vogue about her 18-hour labor with Jack, who they welcomed in August. The Rhode founder did her best to prepare by doing 'breathing exercises, acupuncture, yoga, pelvic-floor therapy, workouts, walking, weight training,' but it ended up being 'the hardest thing I've ever done.' 'I was on that shit,' Hailey explained. 'I was doing everything. I felt stronger physically than I ever had before.' The model was ultimately induced at 39 weeks. 'That shit was so crazy. That was not fun. They broke my water. I went into labor and I labored for a few hours. No epidural, nothing,' Hailey explained, adding that she suffered from excessive postpartum bleeding. 'I trust my doctor with my life,' she said. 'And so I had peace that I knew she would never let anything happen to me. But I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind.' Hailey is still open to more children, despite the challenges of giving birth and the post-partum experience. 'When people talk about 'bouncing back'—back where, because my hips are wider, my boobs are actually bigger than they were before,' she said of coming to terms with her body after having a baby. 'They did not go back. And great, I'll take it, but it's not the same body that it was before. You're not the same person that you were before. You change head to toe. And I think there was a minute where I kept really hyper-fixating on getting back to what I was. And then I had to go through that acceptance of, I'm not going back. So it's really about how do I want to move forward? Who do I want to be?'
