A man has been charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of an ice cream seller in Wembley.
Zaher Zaarour, 26, of Brent, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Met Police officers responded to reports of a stabbing in Monks Park, Wembley, on Tuesday evening.
Shazad Khan, 41, was treated by London Ambulance Service, but despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene for conspiracy to murder. She has been bailed until September pending further inquiries, police said.
On Wednesday, local resident Asim Mahmood Butt, 39, described Khan as a "famous ice cream guy" in the area who had been selling ice cream from his van - known locally for featuring a large teddy bear - for "about a year".
Mr Butt said Mr Khan was married and had a young daughter. Police said Mr Khan's family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller said: "I would like to thank the community for their help and support during this investigation."
He added that residents can expect an increased number of officers in the area as the investigation continues.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, local policing commander for north-west London, said on Wednesday: "Our thoughts remain with Shazad's family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time."

3rd suspect arrested in deadly mass shooting in Philadelphia's Grays Ferry neighborhood, police say

A third suspect was arrested on Thursday in connection with the mass shooting in Philadelphia's Grays Ferry neighborhood that left three people dead and nine others wounded in July, police said. Police said Jihad Gray, 35, was arrested in South Philadelphia on the 2100 block of South Dorrance Street. Officers executed a search warrant and recovered two handguns and a rifle during Gray's arrest. Police said he's been charged with murder, attempted murder, weapons offenses and more. Gray is the third suspect arrested in the deadly shooting on the 1500 block of South Etting Street on July 7, days after a separate mass shooting in South Philly. Last week, police arrested 21-year-old Daquan Brown in connection with the mass shooting. He was charged with murder, attempted murder and gun offenses. Earlier in August, 22-year-old Terrell Frazier was arrested and charged with three counts of murder, nine counts of attempted murder and several other offenses for his role in the shooting, police said. Police said they have traced the bullets found at the scene to 13 different guns and are looking for several other suspects. Philadelphia Police Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said earlier this month that the shooting likely stemmed from one person firing a gun at a gathering of 100 to 200 people on the block. Surveillance video released by police from the shooting showed multiple people firing guns on the 1500 block of South Etting Street and people ducking for cover. Police are offering a $20,000 reward for any information that leads to a conviction.

Man charged with assault to murder following stabbing investigation on Cape Cod, police say

A Saugus man was arraigned Thursday in connection to a stabbing on Cape Cod last week. 53-year-old Chad Miller was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault causing serious bodily injury. Miller was ordered held pending a dangerousness hearing next Tuesday. According to Barnstable Police, officers were called to Cape Cod Hospital around 1 a.m. on August 16 for a report of a 38-year-old man who suffered a stab wound to his abdomen. His injuries were considered life-threatening at the time. Investigators followed up on leads and identified Miller as a suspect. It's unclear whether or not Miller knew the victim. On August 20, police issued a warrant for his arrest, eventually taking him into custody at his Saugus residence. The incident remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and the Cape & Islands District Attorney's Office. No further information was immediately available. This is a developing story.
