But the Semi-final against Pakistan is not a game and cannot be seen as such. Terror and cricket can't go hand in hand,' the travel-tech company's co-founder Nishant Pitti wrote on his 'X' handle.
'@EaseMyTrip, we stand with India. We cannot support an event which attempts to normalise relations with a country which supports terrorism. EaseMyTrip came under public pressure and will not sponsor the India vs Pakistan game in the WCL.
'Some things are bigger than sport. "I am not here for commercialization. Serving the nation is above all else"- he stated unequivocally.
India Champions had progressed to the semi-finals of the ongoing World Championship of Legends after bowling out West Indies Champions inside just 13.2 overs in their last group match on Tuesday.

The statement further said, 'WCL's apology for hurting sentiments, even if ridiculous, inadvertently admits that the cancellation was not based on cricketing merit, but on bowing to a specific nationalistic thinking. This prejudice in the name of sensitivity is unacceptable to the international sports community.' Protecting the spirit of sportsmanship Reiterating its commitment to global cricket and healthy rivalry, the board said it will not allow its players to participate in tournaments that undermine the spirit of sportsmanship.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a blanket ban on future participation in the World Championship of Legends (WCL). According to the governing body of Pakistan cricket, WCL's statement and actions following India Legends' decision to pull out of the semi-final against Pakistan were 'tainted with hypocrisy and bias'. 'The PCB, during its 79th BoG meeting held virtually under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi reviewed with considerable disappointment WCL's appalling conduct of awarding points to a willfully forfeiting team, and the content of the press releases of the WCL announcing the cancellation of the scheduled India vs. Pakistan legends matches, which were tainted with hypocrisy and bias. The press releases highlight a duality where the narrative of 'peace through sport" is selectively applied and sporting events are held hostage to political expediency and narrow commercial interests. 'In light of this unfortunate development, which underscores a clear and intolerable pattern of external influence and a disregard for the principles of sporting neutrality, the Pakistan Cricket Board is compelled to take a firm stance. The PCB can no longer condone participation in an event where the fundamental principles of fair play and unbiased administration are compromised by external pressures," read the statement by PCB.
