My Chemical Romance paid tribute to Smashing Pumpkins during their show at San Francisco's Oracle Park over the weekend. The emo punk band performed a rousing cover of the Pumpkins' 1995 hit 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' as a surprise addition on their Long Live the Black Parade tour, which kicked off earlier this month.
The band offered a relatively traditional cover of the song, off Smashing Pumpkins' seminal album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, with frontman Gerard Way putting his own spin on Billy Corgan's vocals.

My Chemical Romance continue their tour on July 26 in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium. They are also set to perform several shows in August and September, with an array of special guests opening the shows, including Garbage, Death Cab for Cutie, and Evanescence.
The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of the band's 2006 album, The Black Parade. Last year, MCR revived the iconic album at the When We Were Young music festival in Las Vegas in October where they performed The Black Parade in full. Since its 2006 release, the concept album has been heralded in the emo music scene and beyond. Rolling Stone named it one of 'The Greatest 500 Albums of All Time.'
Last month, My Chemical Romance unveiled a deluxe edition reissue of their LP Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge featuring several previously unreleased live recordings. The four bonus tracks on the collection all come from a session My Chemical Romance did for BBC Radio 1's 'The Lock Up' in 2005. Among the previously unreleased recordings are live versions of 'I'm Not OK (I Promise),' 'Helena,' and 'The Ghost of You,' while also included is a performance 'You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison,' which was originally released as a B-side on a limited edition UK CD single of 'I'm Not Okay.'

MGK Details Private Conversation with Taylor Swift as the Chiefs Were Losing 2025 Super Bowl

During an appearance on the Wednesday, Aug. 6, episode of ABC News Live, the pop-punk artist and rapper — whose real name is Colson Baker — recalled how he initially thought the Big Game was going to be a "legendary night" for the Chiefs. Instead, the Philadelphia Eagles won. "I was in Travis [Kelce's] suite, and at the beginning of it Taylor was like, 'Hell yeah we're gonna come watch you perform,' like it's gonna be crazy tonight," MGK, 35, said during the interview. "By the third quarter, dude, I was looking at that score, I went up to Taylor I was like, 'Y'all aren't coming tonight, huh?'" He added: "She was like 'I don't think so man. I'll see if I can get him to get out but I don't think [so].'" MGK then commented on his bond with the NFL tight end, 35. "That's my dawg," the "cliché" artist said. "He's from Cleveland. He's from right next to where I'm from." MGK has opened up about his admiration for Swift, 35, and Kelce in the past. During an episode of Hot Ones Versus in April 24, he was asked multiple questions by Trippie Redd — with whom he collaborated on the Genre: Sadboy EP — about the couple while eating spicy wings. First, Redd, 26, referenced a previous offer MGK had made to hand over $1 million ($500,000 in cash and the same amount as a donation to their high schools Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights) if his friend Kelce left the Kansas City Chiefs and joined the Cleveland Browns. Then, he told MGK: 'Burn that bridge by saying three mean things about Taylor Swift.' 'Ladies and gentlemen, you have got to be out of your motherf---ing mind if you think I want any smoke with that fanbase,' the "vampire diaries" performer responded, staring directly at the camera while mentioning the Swifties. MGK added: 'Also, Taylor is a saint and very nice to me, and Travis is my bro." After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl, Swift and Kelce spent time with MGK and his now-ex Megan Fox at an afterparty at Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World Las Vegas. MGK's new album Lost Americana is due Friday, Aug. 8. Read the original article on People

Everyone Is Laughing At JD Vance's Response To His Character In The New "South Park" Episode

Remember when the White House had a complete meltdown over South Park airing an episode about Donald Trump getting into bed with Satan and unveiling a micropenis? Well, the show aired its second episode of season 27 last night, along with JD Vance's character debut. Related: JD is depicted as Trump's brown-nosing lackey who the president calls "stupid" ... ...and literally kicks around. At one point, when Trump bursts into Satan's bedroom and immediately takes off his pants, JD appears with a bottle, asking, "Would you like me to apply the baby oil to Satan's asshole, boss?" Now, the real JD Vance has responded (and he's opting for a different approach in his public statement than the White House). Related: "Well, I've finally made it," the 41-year-old shared on X alongside an image from the episode. His post has been viewed by over 14.7 million users... but a lot of them aren't buying his attempt to brush it off. Related: "This is JD pretending he's cool with it," one person wrote. Someone questioned why JD chose the image of him and Trump standing next to each other, instead of the one inside Satan's room. Another mocked him for "making it." A TON of people left comments saying something like, "We're not laughing with you. We're laughing AT YOU." Related: Or they suggested he may just not understand that the depiction is no laughing matter. Regardless, commenters insisted, "The likeness [of the character and JD] is exquisite." What are your thoughts on JD's response? Let us know in the comments. Also in In the News: Also in In the News: Also in In the News:
