Kelvin Momo and Adam Howard set to dazzle at the Red Bull Symphonic

The Red Bull Symphonic: Kelvin Momo with Adam Howard and the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra is days away and excitement and nerves are in the air.
Red Bull Symphonic organisers have not announced any changes to the big day and Kelvin Momo has been spotted attending rehearsals.
Fans are excited to hear Kelvin Momo's music reimagined with a live orchestra but some are sitting on the edge of their seats in anticipation to see whether the hit producer will make his performance.
Questions regarding the artist's dependability are increasing among his fanbase, particularly concerning his attendance at the Red Bull Symphonic event.
In videos shared online, Kelvin Momo has been joining the orchestra during rehearsals with insiders confirming his attendance.
This is Red Bull's second year hosting the Symphonic and South Africa and the private piano hitmaker follows in the footsteps of Kabza De Small.
He'll be collaborating with Kelvin Momo, the pioneer of 'private school Amapiano.' Known for his smooth, jazz-influenced compositions, Momo's sound offers the perfect canvas for orchestral expansion.
'We've selected songs that tell a story — a journey through Kelvin's catalogue, paying homage to where he started and where he is now,' said Howard.
'His music is rich with harmony, structure, and jazz influences. My job is to enhance that with an orchestral backdrop without losing the soul of what's already there.'

Howard was a part of the first symphonic and even received a standing ovation for his solo performance.
'Last year was an amazing experience. I was the musical director, did all the arrangements, and played in the orchestra. I thought I'd come down and play a solo or two, I didn't expect it to go down so well!' Howard remarks.
The response from the audience was electric, with the entire auditorium erupting during his impromptu solo moments. That unexpected enthusiasm helped catapult him to the forefront of this year's show.
Having played with the likes of Brothers of Peace, Kalawa Jazmee, Brenda Fassie, and more, Howard is no stranger to the limelight. But what made last year's Red Bull Symphonic with Kabza De Small unique was the way it merged classical orchestration with contemporary sounds, a fusion not commonly seen in traditional orchestras.
'There's never been a time in an orchestra where someone stands up and plays over Amapiano music,' he said, beaming. 'It was a real visual moment, two worlds colliding.
'We encouraged the orchestra to not just play the notes, but to really get into the spirit of the music.'
This year, that vision takes an even bolder step forward. Howard has been tasked with curating a bespoke orchestra for the event, reimagining what a symphony orchestra can look and sound like.
The Red Bull Symphonic: Kelvin Momo with Adam Howard and the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra takes place over three days June 6, 7 and 8 at The Teatro, Montecasino.

In a statement, Sun City Resorts shared with attendees that Kelvin Momo would not perform at the event as scheduled, after not arriving for the show despite being contracted, booked and paid for. 'Neither Momo nor his manager have responded to any of Sun City's requests for an update. We, along with our partners, have exhausted every avenue possible to ensure that he performs,' read the statement. The DJ has garnered a reputation for not showing up for his booked gigs. Before his Red Bull Symphonic show, fans were anxious about whether he would make the gigs, as he had missed three scheduled performances. At the time, Momo's management team released a statement acknowledging the missed gigs, but they have been mum about Kelvin Momo missing the Sun City Resorts performance. The Outside event was, however, saved by Murdah Bongz, who performed. The DJ and musician is signed to the same management, TSquared Productions, as Kelvin Momo. In July, TSquared Productions released a statement making fans aware of a booking scam being by HDS Concepts or Devon, accepting false booking, emphasiszing that the claims were false and misleading. The team further clarified that all legitimate bookings and engagements for Momo go through them (TSquared Productions), and warned fans and promoters to verify any inquiries through official channels. Search continues for pilot in fatal crash
Pilot Andrew Blackwood-Murray died in a fatal crash in Durban Image: Justin de Reuck / Facebook Andrew Blackwood-Murray has been described as the most conscientious and careful pilot. His tragic death on Thursday when the Extra 300 aircraft, a two-seat aerobatic monoplane, he was piloting crashed into the sea, left family and friends baffled as to what caused the crash. Blackwood-Murray, 61, an airline and former air force pilot, from Johannesburg, was at the time performing a final display during an airshow near Durban's Battery Beach. Blackwood-Murray's wife Kyla said she was devastated and beyond heartbroken. "It was the call I have been dreading my whole life. But I always said I would rather he go doing the things he loves the most. I just didn't realise he would have left so soon. "He was my world. We did everything together and we had so many plans. We were going to grow old and be the most awesome geriatrics together. I am beyond heartbroken. Just to have one more day with him. If only," wrote Kyla in a tribute on social media. "Despite all the confirmation, recovery of parts of his unique plane, the release of the registration and every other proof it was him, it was still unbelievable, unreal in every sense of the word. "Andrew was the most conscientious and responsible pilot I have ever flown with. It was always an honour for him to take us on aerobatic flips and formation flights. "Andrew was a man of impeccable honour, ethics, morals and values. He was accepting and welcoming of everyone. His incredible humour I absolutely loved and we would tease each other mercilessly when we got together, always sharing a laugh. The pain and sadness at his passing is excruciating. If he was ever passing over our property after a show he would buzz the house and now and again give us our own personal display, what a great man," said Van Niekerk. He said Blackwood-Murray, a Michaelhouse School old boy, was up there amongst the best aerobatic pilots in the country. "He was meticulous and careful and never took unnecessary risks. Nobody knows what caused the accident," he said. Justin de Reuck, an aviation photographer, said he had the pleasure to fly with Blackwood-Murray on photographic shoots. "Andrew was the nicest guy and gentleman. He never had an angry word. "He was a great aerobatic pilot. We are puzzled by what has happened and we are never going to know. I hope that he is found to help the family find closure," said De Reuck. Long time family friend Bev Shapland described the father of one as an excellent pilot and well respected gentleman within the aviation industry. "He was extremely conscientious and meticulous that everything was in order. He participated in the top airshows in the country. He had love and a zest for life and his family," said Shapland. The Accident and Incident Investigations Division (AIID) were investigating the cause of the crash. Police divers were yesterday continuing in the search operation for the missing pilot. Lorenzo Taverna-Tunisan, NSRI Durban duty coxswain, said the NSRI Durban station 5 rescue base was utilised as a command post for the JOCC (Joint Operations Command Centre) in the ongoing search operation led by Police Search and Rescue divers, in cooperation with ARCC (Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre) and Accident and Incident Investigation Division (AIID), as well as aviation authorities. Poppy Khoza, director of Civil Aviation, said: 'We are saddened by the incident and are keeping the pilot, family and friends in our thoughts as rescue efforts continue," said Khoza. SUNDAY TRIBUNE
