Back in the 1860s, the Maharajas represented Indian swish, and the ultimate in OTT luxury: think the Cartier bejewelled pet tortoise of the Maharani of Pudukottai. When it came to crystal it had to be Baccarat. The Bombay store of the legendary French crystalmaker was frequented by the Who's Who of the British empire until it closed. The brand is back with a bang with its brand-new flagship store at The Chanakya in New Delhi.
Exquisitely sparkling vases and candle stands. Magnificent chandeliers. Opulent cutlery. Striking keepsakes. All made in the finest glass, in signature hues of clear crystal and red (obtained by fusing clear crystal with 24k gold). The clarity and cut of the crystals ensure a unique play of light in every piece.
Limited edition selections include Baccarat's collaborations with globally renowned artists and designers for pieces such as Philippe Starck's 'Talleyrand', Virgil Abloh's 'Crystal Clear' collection, Arik Levy's 'Tuile de Cristal', as well as striking creations from Baccarat's 260th anniversary collection 'New Antique' made by Marcel Wanders.
'With over 260 years of heritage, Baccarat represents the pinnacle of French craftsmanship and luxury,' says Alexandrine Reille-Linyer, Baccarat Export Director. The new boutique offers an immersive experience where this centuries-long tradition of glassware meets cutting-edge innovation.

India and U.S. can only finalise ‘mini' trade deal this year: Sources

Any India-US trade deal this year would only be a 'mini-deal', according to a senior government official, who added that the two countries are still quite far from a comprehensive deal. This comes at a time when U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick has said that a trade deal between India and the United States will materialise in the 'not too distant future'. 'The two countries are still quite far from a comprehensive deal,' the senior government official told The Hindu. 'But the commitment of the two leaders [Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump] is to have something to show by fall this year, so that's the attempt.' Fall in the US is typically from September to November. 'First of all, any deal that will be announced this year will be in limited sectors,' the official explained. 'Trade negotiations usually span multiple years. And when it comes to deals between huge economies like India and the U.S., matters become even more complicated. So, you'll have a mini-deal.' The Hindu has also learnt that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is also internally discussing what to do about the higher tariffs the Trump administration has levied on steel and aluminium. A stakeholders consultation meeting is likely, another official said. Mr. Trump on May 31 announced via his Truth Social account that he would be raising import tariffs on steel and aluminium from the existing 25% to 50%, effective June 4. Even before this hike, the Indian government had already informed the World Trade Organisation that it reserves the right to impose retaliatory tariffs on the US for the 25% rate on steel and aluminium imports that had been imposed since March 2025. 'After this most recent hike [to 50%], the government is looking into what it can do, whether this can be taken up in the trade deal negotiations itself, or if it is separate,' the second official said.

Best large cap mutual funds to invest in June 2025

Many mutual fund advisors have been recommending to invest in large cap schemes in the current financial year. They believe that the large cap category may do well as the market is entering into the expensive territory. These advisors say that the stock market is at an all-time high and the market is likely to become volatile. So, if you are a conservative investor and are looking to invest in relatively safer equity mutual fund schemes to achieve your long-term goals, you should consider investing in large cap mutual funds . However, before that you should familiarise yourself with what are large cap mutual funds and the prevailing conditions in the stock market. According to the Sebi mandate, the large cap mutual funds are mandated to invest in top 100 companies by market capitalisation. Large companies fare better in a volatile market as these companies may be market leaders and resilient to downturns. That is why if you are looking for a relatively safer mutual fund category, you should consider investing in large cap funds. Also Read | NFO Insight: Nippon Income Plus Arbitrage Active FoF opens. A rising market, higher interest rates, and inflation are puzzling. The relative stability of the Indian economy and better fundamentals are supporting the market. However, one can't be completely safe from the global scenario. This is the reason why advisors are asking the investors to proceed cautiously. Many investors and mutual fund analysts believe that large cap schemes are losing their mojo lately. Ever since SEBI introduced the total return index in 2018 and stricter investment norms, the large cap schemes have been struggling to beat their benchmarks. However, writing off large cap schemes completely could be a mistake. It is true that new benchmarks and stricter investment norms have made life difficult for these schemes. However, the large cap schemes can still continue to offer inflation beating returns without too much volatility. Live Events Investing in other mutual fund categories for higher returns without paying attention to the extra risk could be a costly mistake for the investors. If you are happy with 10-12% returns offered by large cap mutual funds over a long period, you should invest in them. If you want to match the market returns, you may educate yourself about index schemes and invest in a large cap index scheme. If you are interested in investing in large cap mutual funds to take care of your long-term financial goals, here are our recommended large cap schemes for June 2025. Sure, the scheme has been underperforming its benchmark and category in the last three years. If you are worried, you may choose another large cap scheme. If you want to give it some more time, you can continue to invest in the scheme. Mutual fund analysts believe that schemes that have been pursuing the growth strategy have been faring poorly in the last few years as the value strategy has gained prominence in the market. Here is our methodology: ETMutualFunds has employed the following parameters for shortlisting the equity mutual fund schemes. 1. Mean rolling returns: Rolled daily for the last three years. 2. Consistency in the last three years: Hurst Exponent, H is used for computing the consistency of a fund. The H exponent is a measure of randomness of NAV series of a fund. Funds with high H tend to exhibit low volatility compared to funds with low H. i) When H = 0.5, the series of returns is said to be a geometric Brownian time series. This type of time series is difficult to forecast. ii) When H is less than 0.5, the series is said to be mean reverting. iii) When H is greater than 0.5, the series is said to be persistent. The larger the value of H, the stronger is the trend of the series 3. Downside risk: We have considered only the negative returns given by the mutual fund scheme for this measure. X =Returns below zero Y = Sum of all squares of X Z = Y/number of days taken for computing the ratio Downside risk = Square root of Z 4. Outperformance: It is measured by Jensen's Alpha for the last three years. Jensen's Alpha shows the risk-adjusted return generated by a mutual fund scheme relative to the expected market return predicted by the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). Higher Alpha indicates that the portfolio performance has outstripped the returns predicted by the market. Average returns generated by the MF Scheme = [Risk Free Rate + Beta of the MF Scheme * {(Average return of the index - Risk Free Rate} 5. Asset size: For Equity funds, the threshold asset size is Rs 50 crore
